Hotel Aquila Elounda Village

We arrived at the Aquila Elounda Hotel on the night of July 23. To our surprise, we were told that the special room we had booked was not clean, and we were therefore given an alternative room. The following day, we were shown the room we had originally booked. However, instead of the promised garden view, the room faced a small square of grass surrounded by walls, with no real view at all. It was also clear that the hotel did not really want us to move rooms. We decided to stay in the room because we did not want to argue or start moving our belongings again. Yesterday, July 25, when we returned to the room in the afternoon, we discovered that it had not been cleaned. This was despite the fact that we had not placed any “Do Not Disturb” sign or otherwise indicated that we did not want the room to be cleaned. When we called and asked for the room to be cleaned and for the towels to be replaced, we received a rather cold response over the phone, although we were told that it would be taken care of. To our surprise, nothing happened. Even the towels were not replaced. Only after we called a second time and went down to reception did we finally receive fresh towels. The worst part came during the night, when we discovered two cockroaches in the bathroom. This caused my partner to be unable to sleep throughout the night. This morning, July 26, when I came to return the room keys, I explained everything that had happened. Although I was not asking for an alternative holiday or anything of that kind, I did ask for compensation of €45, corresponding to part of the additional amount I had paid for the room. Unfortunately, this did not seem to interest them. They had no intention of offering any compensation or even apologizing. They simply gave me the bill. I am not someone who makes a scene, but I was genuinely offended by the dismissive attitude and the complete lack of attention given to the problems I had raised. I paid the bill, but I promised myself that this would be the last time I ever stay at this hotel, and generally at a hotel belonging to this hotel chain. I will also make sure to share my negative experience with any of my friends who are considering staying at this hotel chain in Crete or elsewhere.

Très déçue. Nous avons rejoint des membres de notre famille pour 24h dans cet établissement car nous habitons sur l'île. L'hôtel nous a fait un petit discount, ce qui est plutôt sympathique. Par contre, on oublie très vite les 5 étoiles. Malgré un accueil très sympathique et une chance avec un petit dégagement sur la mer, la chambre était sale, voir très sale. Le sol laissait une belle trace noire sous les pieds, la poussière et les toiles d'araignées faisaient partie du décor, la baignoire était bouchée mais le pire, la literie. Tout d'abord 3cm de différence de hauteur entre les deux matelas... alors que le lit avait été fait pour un lit double et un des matelas était complètement défoncé. Quel standing... je trouve cela très loin d'un 5 étoiles, j'ai dormi dans des 2 étoiles bien mieux et propres. Le rapport qualité prix est très loin d'être correct. Par contre, la nourriture est délicieuse, les buffets très variés. Nous avons testé le Symposis, délicieux. N'hésitez pas à commander le dessert valhrona, c'est une tuerie même si il ne fait pas partie du tout inclus. Comment expliquer la différence de qualité du café et de cocktails au sein du même établissement ? Le café est délicieux au bar de la plage et mauvais ailleurs et le cocktails sont délicieux au bar à l'entrée et vraiment pas bons à la plage. Nous connaissions cette chaîne d'hôtels pour y avoir séjourné à Rethymnon, vraiment rien à voir... bien en-dessous. Et attention, ils ne répondent aux mails que 3 jours après et ne vous confirment pas votre réservation. Dommage car l'emplacement est fabuleux.

Poor service and serious check-in failure at a 5-star resort We arrived at 3 AM after a long delayed flight. The hotel gave us keys to the garden-view bungalow we had booked, but when the staff opened the door we walked in on other guests sleeping inside — a shocking privacy and safety breach. We were then moved to a standard room in the main building, located next to the noisy operational/service area. The large balcony had absolutely no shade, making it unusable during the day. There was also a noticeable sewage smell on the way to the room. When we approached reception the next morning asking for a room change or at least a sun umbrella, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. Service throughout the stay was mostly indifferent. Most staff were not particularly friendly or attentive, and things took a long time. At the pool bar the food was overpriced and disappointing — for example, a salmon sandwich had almost no salmon. We came for a relaxing holiday but the combination of the terrible arrival experience and poor service left us disappointed. For a 5-star resort, this level of care and professionalism is unacceptable. Would not recommend

Das Aquila Elounda Village Adult only Hotel ist für Ruhe suchende Paare perfekt. Wir waren im Juni 2026 für 10 Tage dort. Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns vom ersten Tag an wohlgefühlt. Warum bei Zimmer nur 4 Sterne ist einfach erklärt. Wir hatten einen Deep Blue Bungalow mit eigenem Pool und er war spitze, echt ein Hit, jedoch sind die Möbel im Bungalow schon in die Jahre gekommen, also nicht so wie auf den Bildern im Netz. Des Weiteren fehlte uns eine Kleider Ablage Möglichkeit, denn im ganzen Bungalow (außer Badezimmer) gibt es keinen einzigen Wandhaken für Kleidung zum Aufhängen. Wir ersuchten um einen Stuhl und dieser wurde uns unverzüglich gebracht. Allgemein fehlte uns in diesem Bungalow mehr Ablage Fläche. Ansonsten rundherum ein tolles Resort. Wir sind Taucher, und im Hotel ist eine super tolle Tauchbasis stationiert "Blue Dolphin", jedoch erfährt man das leider nicht vom Hotel Personal, was wir sehr schade finden. Denn es sind viele Gäste dort, und warum nicht auch anderen Geschäftsfeldern etwas zukommen lassen.

Arrivé à l'hôtel à 21h00, il a d'abord valu faire les papiers nous expliquer des informations dans la moitié rien compris, lorsque nous demandons s'il est encore possible de manger, on nous répond que c'est fermé, même pas une petite collation dans la chambre, par contre une bouteille de vin rosé et une bouteille avec des bulles nous y attendez, un peu fort de café. Pour les explications en français le lendemain nous avons une personne ultra compétente Mme MARIA. L'hôtel est agréable, nous avions une chambre avec une piscine privé, c'était le pied. Le restaurant très moyen toujours la même chose pas grande variété pas digne d'un hôtel 5 étoiles. La plage petite et plein de cailloux pas beaucoup de sable. Le bar de la plage n'ouvre qu'à 10h30 et n'a même pas de petite collation. Pas de spectacle digne de ce nom les soirs, un di joker ou une chanteuse anime les soirées. Nous avons quand même passé de bonnes vacances. Mais la surprise arrive le dernier jour ou on vous demande de payer 210€ de taxe de séjour ce qui correspond à 15€ par jour pour un hôtel de 5*. Je pense que la Grèce va vu, j'irais passé mes vacances ailleurs.

We stayed for 3 nights. The service was spot on with attention to details and the customer comfort as top priority. The location is 1 hour away from the airport and the city itself is lacking activities beside the hotel itself. The rooms need some better maintenance(at least in the lower level), the hotel itself is beautiful and these few points will make it a perfect place to stay
