Dukes The Palm, a Royal Hideaway Hotel

It has been one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I arrived at 3:00 PM, completed check-in, and immediately requested a room change because the room I was assigned was not what I had booked. It then took the hotel nearly two hours to provide the new room. The only reason I received it was because I went back to the reception to ask about the status, where I was told it had already been ready. When I asked why no one had informed me, they had no answer. Because two hours of my stay were wasted waiting, I requested a late check-out as a gesture of goodwill. Instead of accommodating the request, I was told I would need to check with the manager. The dinner buffet was also very disappointing. The selection was extremely limited, and the food quality was poor. The chicken tasted like it had been reheated multiple times and had a sticky texture. To make matters worse, they charged AED 30 for Lacnor juice. At that price, I would expect a freshly squeezed juice, not a bottled one. Overall, the service, food quality, and overall experience did not meet the standards I expected, and I would not recommend staying here.

Never the person to write a review, especially a negative one however our experience at Dukes this year has been nothing short of disappointing… Arrived at 7am, completely understand our room was not ready for this time; no issue with this. Went to the beach to start our holiday, soon needed a drink after being in 35 degree heat… asked the security, life guards and even the gardeners if we can get any water to which we were told ‘no not until Ula opens at 12’… Went to reception to complain and was told we can use the water from our room, we don’t have a room… Partner went to buy a bottle of water from the mall and was told by security at the pool outside beverages weren’t allowed… The next day we find out breakfast wasn’t open at the hotel and we were to walk to a separate hotel, only a 5 minute walk but the principal of having these unexpected situations dropped on you once you’ve paid the money is unacceptable. The hotel bar in the evening was closed, forcing you to go to the recommended Sports bar around the corner, which we went to and then was told it’s a 150 minimum spend. So you can’t get a simple can of pop in the hotel and if you did want one you need to spend a minimum of 150aed. It feels almost as if you’re not wanted at the hotel, the staff were nice but nothing like previous years, the breakfast was also nice but again the general service standard has dropped massively. Not to mention the ludicrous prices of food and drink by the pool/beach, the good value of the hotel becomes irrelevant when a can of pop is £7 each! A salad, a gyros and a drink coming to £77 is crazy! Definitely won’t be coming back!

Highly recommend this hotel! Everything was clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were all warm, friendly, and accommodating. A special thank you to Putri, who was incredibly kind and even gave us extra time before check-out because we got carried away enjoying the pool and completely lost track of time. We truly appreciated her thoughtfulness. My kids absolutely loved all the pools, and we were all very satisfied with our stay. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back. Thank you for making our family holiday so memorable!

We had a wonderful dining experience! The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service made the evening even more enjoyable. A special compliment to our waiter, Hein, who was friendly, attentive and professional throughout our visit. He made us feel genuinely welcome and ensured that we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Hein is a real asset to the restaurant, and we will definitely be back!

Dukes is the best in Dubai! This is our third time staying here, and they never disappoint. Every visit has been a 10/10 experience I could give more than 5 stars, I would definitely give 10! A special thanks to Ms. Nana at the reception. She was absolutely amazing! Since it was my sister’s birthday, she went above and beyond by giving us a wonderful room, making the celebration even more special. Her kindness, professionalism, and warm hospitality truly made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended, and we can’t wait to come back again!

We stayed at Dukes Hotel for a birthday staycation for my boyfriend, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. A special thank you to Marie, Bijay and the entire Front Office team for welcoming us with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. They made us feel genuinely valued from the moment we arrived. I'd also like to give a huge shoutout to Anil, who went above and beyond during dinner. I made a last-minute request for a surprise birthday cake for my boyfriend, and although it seemed almost impossible to arrange on such short notice, Anil made it happen. Thanks to his kindness and effort, I was able to pull off the surprise perfectly. His service was truly outstanding. Overall, we had a very relaxing and memorable stay. The hotel's location is excellent, offering a peaceful atmosphere while still being conveniently located. Combined with the great service and reasonable rates, Dukes Hotel offers excellent value for money. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend it!
