A wonderful hotel! A great location 25 mins to town and 10 mins to Lido. Lovely restaurants for all budgets nearby . We loved Baracuda. Rooms were very clean and spacious and solarium was a lovely area to relax. Quiet mid day and then busier as folk came back from hiking or excursions. Breakfast wonderful thanks to Mr Roberto and Fatima. Thanks to Renato on desk for his warm welcome too. An excellent place and I couldn’t find a fault. Security box included.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was bright and spacious. I also loved having a small kitchen with everything I needed. The staff were polite and friendly, and they were always ready to help. We asked for a room with a partial ocean view, and we got exactly what we requested. That was really appreciated. The warm rooftop jacuzzi was a real highlight, especially in winter. It was such a relaxing way to end the day. A special thank you to the chef. The breakfasts were delicious and generous. Even ten minutes before breakfast ended, the staff kept refilling everything. Some dishes could be ordered from the menu, and they were included in the price, which was a lovely bonus. There was sparkling wine at breakfast. It was such a nice surprise. The selection was excellent. There were cheeses, eggs cooked in different ways, fish, and ham. There were also fresh fruits, yogurts, and vegetables. They served mushrooms, bacon, pancakes, and much more. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would happily stay here again.

Just a last minute booking for two nights to watch the Carnival. Reception staff pleasant. Our room was 106 next to reception. Clean but basic. I would have been disappointed if I had come for 1-2 weeks holiday but for two days no problem……. Until time to sleep ! The staff at reception could have been talking in our room The traffic outside stopped about 02:00hrs but it was still too noisy to sleep. The next night was much the same but having so little sleep the night before slept a bit better. Hate to complain but it needs saying that this was the worst room because of it’s position and 24 hr reception. Having said that… the positives! It was clean. Great hot powerful shower. Staff pleasant. Breakfast really good for €10pp Cooking facilities with fridge. No carpets, easy clean flooring. Good location.

Als Paar sind wir für eine Urlaubswoche nach Madeira gereist und haben im Terrace Mar Suite Hotel übernachtet. Wir hatten eine Junior Suite inklusive Parkplatz gebucht. Das Zimmer war zweckmäßig mit einer kleinen Küchenzeile ausgestattet. Das Bett war in Ordnung, wenngleich es besser sein könnte. Das Hotel hat eine gute Lage, um Funchal und Lido zu Fuß oder mit dem Bus zu erkunden. Die Tiefgarage ist jedoch nur für Kleinwagen und routinierte Fahrer geeignet, da sie sehr eng ist und das Rangieren mit einem Auto ähnlich einem VW Golf eine Herausforderung darstellt. Ein großer Schwachpunkt des Hotels ist die Hellhörigkeit. Man hört Geräusche von oben, unten und aus den Nachbarzimmern, einschließlich des Lärms von verschobenen Stühlen und Möbeln. Zudem liegt das Hotel an einer kleinen, aber stark befahrenen Nebenstraße am Berg. Jedes vorbeifahrende Auto beschleunigt beim Bergauffahren, was rund um die Uhr laut und unangenehm ist. Mit geschlossenem Fenster ist es erträglich, aber mit offenem Fenster kann man leider nicht schlafen. Das größte Plus des Hotels sind die freundlichen und zuvorkommenden Mitarbeiter, die einem den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich machen möchten. Das Frühstück ist gut und frisch, jedoch ist der Frühstücksraum im Untergeschoss wenig ansprechend.

Lovely little hotel. Breakfast is fabulous and plentiful. Large clean rooms with microwave, hob and small worktop and cupboards. Sofa and TV. Near to bus stops for travel outside of Funchal or car park - which is tight but doable. Pool of rooftop is warm and perfect after a delay hiking or sightseeing. 25 min walk to Old Town Funchal and some good restaurants nearby. 5 mins walk to the lido. Highly recommend for a stay in Madeira

We just spent a wonderful week in Funchal at the Hotel Terrace Mar. We had booked two rooms and arrived at 11 am. We were not expecting any of our rooms to be ready but one was already available. We were warmly welcomed and let in early. We had a swim whilst waiting for the second room. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have two balconies, front and back. Location wise the hotel is 5 to 10 minutes walk from the Lido. There are many exceptional restaurants within a few minutes walk. Breakfast was included and was excellent, a choice of.a cooked breakfast, buffet style or continental. The staff were excellent and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend the Terrace Mar Hotel and we.will be coming back!
