Our stay at Angsana Velavaru Maldives was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived until our departure, we experienced genuine hospitality, outstanding service, and a peaceful atmosphere that made our visit unforgettable. One of the highlights of our stay was the presence of a beautiful masjid within the resort, which made it convenient to perform our daily salah. This was a truly meaningful feature that enhanced our experience. We also greatly appreciated the Masjid Imam, whose dedication and warm presence were commendable. The resort is beautifully maintained, with stunning villas, crystal-clear waters, and excellent facilities. Every member of the team was warm, professional, and always ready to assist with a smile. A special thank you to the reception team,Sumith, Basnayaka, Ajith, and Buddy-who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Their professionalism, kindness, genuine care, and willingness to help with every request made a lasting impression. They are a true credit to Angsana Velavaru and exemplify world-class hospitality. Thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so special. We highly recommend Angsana Velavaru Maldives to anyone seeking a relaxing, luxurious, and unforgettable island experience. Our week at Angsana Velavaru was simply amazing. The resort is absolutely beautiful, with crystal-clear water, white sandy beaches, stunning villas, and an atmosphere that allows you to completely relax. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, was the incredible team who looked after us every single day. Special thanks to Sunil, Ardharsh, Yazid, Shibin, Nadun, Shehan, and Rahamad for their exceptional service at the bar. They were always friendly, attentive, and made every visit enjoyable. Laila, Buddy, and Ijlal were fantastic in the restaurant and always made us feel welcome while ensuring every dining experience was excellent. Shiba, Raisha, and Alina at reception were professional, kind, and always ready to help. Naamy made our water sports adventures one of the highlights of the trip with great guidance and enthusiasm. Finally, thank you to Buddika, Ajith, Malith, Mamul, and Basnayaka for preparing such delicious meals every day. We truly appreciate everyone’s hard work and would highly recommend Angsana Velavaru to anyone visiting the Maldives.

We had one of the best holidays of our lives at Angsana Velavaru. Everything about the resort exceeded our expectations. The island is stunning, the villas are beautiful, the beaches are spotless, and the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing. Every member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome from the first day until the very last. A huge thank you to Sunil, Ardharsh, Yazid, Shibin, Nadun, Shehan, and Rahamad for their amazing hospitality at the bar. They always greeted us with smiles, remembered our favourite drinks, and made every evening so enjoyable. Laila, Buddy, and Ijlal provided outstanding service in the restaurant and made every meal feel special. Shiba, Raisha, and Alina at reception were always friendly, professional, and incredibly helpful. Naamy gave us an unforgettable water sports experience, making every activity exciting and safe. We also want to thank Buddika, Ajith, Malith, Mamul, and Basnayaka in the kitchen for the incredible food served throughout our stay. Every meal was delicious and beautifully prepared. We recently stayed at Angsana Velavaru and had a mixed experience. Positives:
The island itself is beautiful, and the overwater villas are stunning, spacious, and kept spotlessly clean throughout our stay. The restaurant staff were the highlight of the resort. A special thanks to Appa and Sumit, who provided exceptional service and always made us feel welcome. Negatives:
The resort feels very quiet, with not much happening on the island. If you’re looking for activities or entertainment, you may be disappointed. Most staff members outside the restaurant seemed unmotivated, and we often had to remind them multiple times before requests were fulfilled. One thing that was particularly disappointing was that several complimentary activities advertised by the resort were difficult to access. We were often discouraged from participating due to “safety concerns” and instead encouraged to book paid activities, which was frustrating. The food was another weak point. There were very limited Indian food options, and the lunch and dinner menus were almost identical every day, making meals repetitive during our stay. Conclusion:
If your idea of a perfect vacation is simply relaxing in a beautiful overwater villa, enjoying the sea views, and doing very little else, Angsana Velavaru is a good choice. However, if you’re looking for a resort with engaging activities, lively surroundings, and a wider variety of good food, especially Indian cuisine, you may want to consider other options.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the resort. From the moment we arrived until our departure, everything was well organized, comfortable, and thoughtfully managed. The atmosphere was relaxing, the facilities were spotless, and the overall hospitality exceeded our expectations. The buffet was exceptional, offering a wide variety of delicious dishes to suit every taste. The food quality was outstanding, and everything was continuously replenished, making every meal an enjoyable experience. A special thank you to Abba, Ijlal, Mansoor, Leila, Afza, Suhail, ali, and Shahid for their outstanding service and warm hospitality. They were always friendly, attentive, and eager to help, ensuring that our stay and dining experience were truly memorable. Their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care made all the difference. The team was the highlight of our stay, and they turned a great experience into an unforgettable one. We've just returned after 14 nights in a beachfront family villa. For us, this was a close to perfect vacation, the location is incredible, our villa was of ample size and facilities for the 3 of us and being slightly out-of-season, the resort was just the right level of busy to ensure that we had no issues with dining or activities when we wanted to book. Transfers to and from the resort were simple and seamless, with representatives at Male guiding us to/from the sea-plane terminal, ensuring all connections were made. During our stay, many guests seemed to spend the majority of their time at their villas (on their beachfront or the terrace/pool in the over-water villas) so the resort was generally peaceful and relaxing, rather than noisy and boisterous. We ate in all four restaurants, the quality and diversity of available food was very good, in particular the small Funa restaurant serves some fantastic dishes. The team also went out of their way to help celebrate my daughter's birthday and introduce us to local culture. Every member of staff we met was friendly, courteous, generous with their time and went out of their way to be helpful. Service was never intrusive and any minor issues were resolved very quickly. There are a few small improvements I could suggest: - offer a few more self-driven activity options that can be borrowed from the sports centre (e.g. Bocce, beach games) - I'd think in busier times, the pool table and table-tennis would be tied up, so perhaps add more of these games, especially under-cover for the wetter season. - add a small amenity store for essentials at reasonable prices (mosquito spray, deodorant, basic medication, the types of things that can run out during a stay) - the schedule for the water-taxi between the island and over-water can be a bit frustrating, but there are frequently other boats going between the islands for activity trips etc. We did manage to hitch a ride on these a couple of times, but I'm not sure if this is normal protocol - I think it would be a blessing for guests if they could get on any boat by default, space permitting, between the scheduled water taxi service. In summary, I would highly recommend Velavaru for those looking for a relaxing holiday with just the right level of service.
