Each guest is assigned a personal butler, but if the butler is not attentive or capable, the entire trip can be ruined. From the time of our reservation six months ago, we had informed the resort that this was a special celebratory trip. We had also requested a late checkout on the final day, as we planned to spend the last night in Malé and wanted to relax until the end of our stay. (We are Platinum Elite members.) However, on the final day, the butler instructed us to pack our bags and vacate the room by 11:00 AM. Even after explaining our circumstances and kindly requesting flexibility, our request was denied. To make matters worse, we were told our seaplane would depart at 3:30 PM. When we asked where we could stay during the four-and-a-half-hour gap, the only suggestion was to wait in the library. Were we seriously expected to sit quietly in the library for that entire time? The butler did not even come to see us off at the seaplane departure, nor did they send any farewell message via WhatsApp. Additionally, although the seaplane was scheduled to depart at 3:30 PM, it made two unexpected stops — one for refueling and another to pick up passengers from a different resort — resulting in a two-hour ride. The outbound flight took only one hour. For a couple in their 60s, this was physically exhausting. For these reasons, we cannot recommend JW Marriott Maldives to others, nor will we consider returning ourselves.

Ever wondered if there is actually a little heaven on earth 🌎? If your answer is yes, no, maybe, or you don't know, then there is absolutely no reason to look any further. JW Marriott Resort & Spa Maldives is sheer pure magic 🌞. Nothing beats the experience under the sun. The awesome pampering instantly commences at the Velana International Airport. Here is how it went down for me: Najaah welcomed me to the Maldives in some awesome fashion. Then came the private seaplane lounge, and then came the absolutely amazing seaplane takeoff—an amazing amazing experience. It doesn't end there! When we landed at JW Marriott Resort & Spa Maldives, that moment was not even one for the books, but an absolute classic moment. Hassan introduced himself as my personal butler, and the entire team was there welcoming me with a Maldivian birthday song version and dance as I was ushered in. The buggy ride to the overwater villa was absolutely stunning. The tranquility, peace, nature, and all the good things that life can offer were everywhere. The overwater villa was nothing short of awesome; nothing beats that. To the souls whose paths crossed mine during this idyllic stay—Dj. BlueIvy (Kiki), Geeth, Ishan, Manish, Zahukuvan, Abdul Rahman, Siraj, MizhGonga, and Satyam—you were truly the architects of joy, the very stars that charted my island days 🌞 & nights 🌉, polishing each moment into a memorable pearl. Your collective effort did not just create a memorable vacation; you gifted me a magnificent haven, proving that the most luxurious details are those delivered with absolute care and a smile. And to Nawaz, your room service was a seamless, the very essence of world-class excellence in a dream unfurled. Keep on keeping on with the awesomeness! Those moments were magical and will forever be etched in my heart. It was for sure a little heaven on earth for me, and you all made it feel like home 🏡. To the gorgeous Montana, your hands are the epitome of tranquility. The massage was so relaxing, effortless & an out-of-this-world passage to peace. Yet, even beyond that serenity, you went over & above & gifted me pure, unexpected poetry—the "Happy Birthday" etched in sand upon the floor - wow that was so lovely of you. You are rare & simply put gifted offering both the healing touch and heartfelt wonder. Thank you for the magic. To the gentleman Hassan, you are a gem 💎. Your meticulousness and awesomeness made me relaxed and in sync with the tranquility & nature. I literally disconnected from the world 🌍 and connected with myself. Thank you for making my stay worth it. Keep on keeping on with the awesomeness! You Rock!

Our stay at the JW Marriott Maldives was nothing short of incredible. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel like family. A special thank you to Shamin, IKA, and Faris, along with the entire morning and dinner staff. Their hospitality truly stood out always attentive, warm, and genuinely caring. Every interaction felt personal, and they went above and beyond to make sure my wife and I were comfortable and enjoying every moment. The service during both breakfast and dinner was exceptional. The team created such a welcoming atmosphere that made each meal something we looked forward to, not just for the food (which was amazing), but for the people. This level of service is what turns a great resort into an unforgettable experience. We are truly grateful and will always remember how we were treated during our stay. Highly recommend and we hope to return again soon.

I have traveled the world and literally cried leaving here as the people were the nicest I have ever met. The service was absolutely incredible, they all went above and beyond. Located just a 15 minute boat ride from Male was very helpful also. The water and sea life was incredible. Dolphins every day and eagle rays. Book the overwater villa absolutely a must. We were two friends staying and the overwater was a must. Every single staff member went above and beyond and I can’t wait to return. The spa was the best massage ever and the dive center Joseph and Alim were amazing with the activities and helping my friend complete her dive certification. The shower heads were the best I have experienced with the powder head water omg. We loved everything.

Our stay at the JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa from March 25 to April 8, 2026 was outstanding from start to finish. We traveled as a family of four with two daughters aged 6 and 11. The resort consistently met the expectations of both adults and children at a high level. Arrival in Malé and the seaplane transfer were well organized. The welcome on the island with traditional Boduberu drummers was warm and professional, and the transition to our villa was seamless. Our Beach Pool Villa offered direct access to the house reef, making snorkeling part of our daily routine. We regularly saw sharks and turtles. There was some natural coral debris along the shoreline, but the staff worked continuously to clear and improve access, which we highly appreciated. The culinary experience was exceptional across all restaurants. Highlights included Hashi, Shio, Aailaa for breakfast, Kaashi for lunch, and Fiamma by the pool. A standout evening was the Destination Dining at RIHA by Chef Rohit Agarwal, which delivered an outstanding multi-course experience. The floating breakfast in our private pool was beautifully arranged and a true highlight for our children. The Kids Club deserves special recognition. Our daughters quickly felt comfortable, gained confidence, and even improved their English. Saying goodbye was emotional, which speaks for the quality of care. We also enjoyed the dolphin cruise, where we experienced dolphins in their natural habitat and even spotted a sea turtle. The visit to the resort garden added a nice insight into the culinary concept. We traveled just before the southwest monsoon season and had excellent weather overall, with only short periods of rain that created special family moments. The departure was smooth and very personal, with several team members saying goodbye. Service throughout the stay was consistently attentive and warm. A special thank you to Thakuru Naawish for the outstanding support. This stay created many lasting memories. We hope to return.
