Our stay at Alila was next level!! We’re a family of 4 from Sydney (16 and 18yo kids) and stayed for 5 nights in early July. We had 2 overwater bungalows and were lucky enough to have clear weather for the duration. Overall the staff were excellent, always available, responsive, friendly and helpful. Some staff in particular exceeded all expectations. Our villa host anticipated our every need and was incredibly accommodating and patient with our ever changing plans. The bartender for sunset happy hour went out of his way to provide extra touches to make our experience special. We heard high praise from staff for the General Manager and their experience of working at Alila. The food was fresh, high quality with a variety of different international cuisines, including great pizza. The breakfast buffet offered plenty of healthy, gluten-free and cooked options, with daily specials and à la carte menu included. The resort was at around 60% capacity and always felt spacious and quiet with so many places to relax. Seats were always available in restaurants and bars as well as loungers on the beach or at the pool any time. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and well organised with every detail considered and every need provided for. The dive centre ran seamlessly. Our dive guide was good natured, easy-going and knowledgeable. The quality of the diving was spectacular. The house reef on the island for snorkelling was abundant in fish life. The spa offered a beautiful and tranquil space to further enhance the relaxed feel of the resort. We had an unexpected visit to the clinic and received professional advice and treatment for a minor ailment from the onsite Doctor. Overall, faultless, I sincerely hope we can return someday.

This is my 4th visit in as many years, and the Alila Kothaifaru just keeps getting better. I have been to quite a number of international resorts in the Maldives over the past 20+ years (Four Seasons, Banyan, One & Only, Taj, Hilton/Conrad, Sixth Senses...) and the Alila impresses me more with each stay. There is very little staff turnover, so service standards in their restaurants are kept high. The staff themselves are lovely and warm. The food quality has steadily improved over the years, with an Italian restaurant being the newest addition. The pizza (thin crust) and Tiramisu are superb. My husband and I have stayed only in the over-water villas, and we notice the corals in the lagoon are doing very well. Indeed the sea life at the Alila is second to none. The house reef is amazing. On this visit we've encountered Manta ray (!!), sea turtle, shark all while snorkeling. We've also seen dolphins up close while on a boat just off the resort. The natural island which the Alila is on, is a good size. The vegetation is well maintained, so the overall environment is very pleasant. I can highly recommend the Alila Kothaifaru, after years of visiting the Maldives. My husband and I intend on coming back again next year.

We celebrated our 8th anniversary at Alila and had the most incredible stay. The property is absolutely stunning — private, peaceful, and perfect for a truly relaxing escape. But what made our trip so special was the team. Chef Damodar at the Italian restaurant and Chef Amrit at Sea Salt prepared beautiful à la carte specials for us that were honestly some of the best meals we’ve had. Sandeep at the bar was so warm and welcoming, making our evenings extra special. A huge thank you to Niya as well, who took care of everything we needed throughout our stay with such care and attention. We felt so looked after the entire time. We will definitely be back and highly recommend Alila to anyone looking for a luxurious, exclusive getaway.

My wife and I came here for our honeymoon, and it was a phenomenal stay. All of the dining options were amazing. We tried each dining activity and none of them disappointed. One of our favorites was the Shack Lunch experience. It was so peaceful and serene. The service from the staff was also so personal and professional, and all of the activities were so diligently organized. We think about our time at Alila every day and can't wait to go back. Highly recommend staying at this resort.

We had an amazing stay. The atoll is beautiful and the villas feel very private, but the food is what really stood out. Every meal felt fresh and well thought out, with plenty of variety and great flavors. The breakfast choices were perfect, and dinner at the restaurants was always a highlight. Staff were kind and attentive, making each experience even better. We will definitely stay here again when in the Maldives!
