I cannot recommend this hotel enough! The hotel itself is lovely but what makes it unforgettable is the staff. I stayed here whilst recovering from (unexpected) surgery and the staff made me feel so so cared for the entire time. They expedited our check in and must have ensured other staff knew our situation because from the room attendants to the breakfast staff everyone was so incredibly kind and thoughtful. Each day multiple staff enquired as to my recovery and checked to see if I needed anything. I was incredibly touched by the hospitality and kindness I experienced throughout were truly above anything I have experienced before. I wish to extend my most heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Movenpick BDMS Wellness, especially Mon at reception and Nan at the restaurant. You made a difficult situation easy to bear. 🩷

My partner and I had a mixed feeling during our six-night stay in this Family hotel. The property was well-maintained and our spacious and clean suite room was a great start. However, there was a persistent sewer smell occasionally coming through the toilet sink or air vent and sink. Fortunately, I always carry essential oils and they helped to suppress the unpleasant odour. All staff members have been polite and helpful. We have engaged with several outstanding staff members including the concierge and our breakfast table staff. They are Tor, KP, First and Nan.. just to name a few! Two issues prevented us from returning to this hotel. Firstly, the constant noise from children during our six-night stay was unbearable. Screaming, crying and shouting filled the breakfast area lobby and executive lounge as children ran freely. The hotel staff seemed completely unresponsive. Secondly, the location was a major drawback. The hotel was always surrounded by heavy traffic making taxis impractical. The BTS stations were a long 7-minute walk and it was unpleasant, especially on rainy days or when carrying shopping bags. While the hotel offered free hourly transfers to the station, these took nearly 25 minutes during peak hours. There’s no convenient store within the hotel area. These negative experiences made a return impossible unfortunately but recommend it for family with children!

*** Excellent wellness resort, exceptional Thai fine dining — a few service kinks to iron out *** Location: The resort sits in a genuinely convenient part of Bangkok — a short walk from Ploenchit BTS station and Central Embassy, one of the city's best shopping malls. Pratunam Market and Erawan Shrine are both within 1-2km, and there's also a boat pier right next to the property on the Saen Saep canal if you want to skip the traffic. It's about 45 minutes from both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports. Very walkable neighbourhood — you can comfortably get to shopping, dining, and the BTS network on foot, though I'd stick to the main roads and skywalks given Bangkok's heat and traffic. The hotel, decor and atmosphere: The property has an Art Deco feel with 1.2 acres of tropical gardens, which gives it a calmer, more "resort" feeling than you'd expect for a hotel this central. It's connected to the BDMS Wellness Clinic, so there's a genuine health/wellness thread running through the whole property rather than it being just branding. Rooms: Spacious and well-designed, with private balconies. A nice surprise was the amount of wellness-focused equipment included as standard — yoga mats, resistance/stretch bands, and a bedside sleep therapy speaker and lamp. The bathroom was a highlight — a proper Japanese-style setup with separate bathtub and shower, plus the usual robes, toiletries and hairdryer. One note for anyone booking a river-facing room: there's an odour that comes off the canal at times, so I kept the windows closed throughout the stay rather than airing the room out. Amenities within the resort: Outdoor saltwater swimming pool set in the gardens Be Well Spa — aromatherapy, body treatments, facials, manicure/pedicure, Ayurvedic treatments 24-hour fitness centre with yoga and fitness classes Steam room and sauna Direct access to the BDMS Wellness Clinic for medical/preventive care Two event/meeting rooms, plus a business centre Daily complimentary manager's reception Daily "Chocolate Hour" at Bittersweet Concierge, 24-hour front desk, dry cleaning/laundry Free in-room Wi-Fi throughout Food and drinks: This is where the resort really stands out. Khum Hom, led by celebrity chef Pongtawat "Ian" Kittichai, isn't Michelin-starred but is recommended in the Michelin Guide Thailand — and it's easy to see why. The refined, health-conscious take on regional Thai cuisine was genuinely exceptional, both in food quality and in the service at the table. It's not cheap, but it's absolutely worth the visit. Breakfast at Nourish was solid and health-focused. Bittersweet does the daily Chocolate Hour and creative cocktails in the lounge bar, and Rim Klong Cafe is a nice spot for afternoon tea by the canal. Staff and service: A mixed picture. Front desk staff were pleasant, but communication and service at check-in/check-out felt a bit slow and occasionally confusing — requests didn't always land the first time. F&B staff in the lounge were great and clearly trying hard, but there was a language barrier at times that made it harder to get specific requests across — same story at the breakfast restaurant. None of this was a dealbreaker, but worth setting expectations if you have particular asks. Bottom line: A genuinely relaxing wellness-oriented stay in an unbeatable location, let down slightly by some front-of-house communication gaps — but the rooms, amenities, and especially Khum Hom's food and service more than make up for it. Would return.

Das Mövenpick ist gut gelegen, wenn man in Bangkok Dinge zu erledigen hat. Es ist einfach von der Express her zu erreichen. Das Mövenpick glänzt vor allem mit äusserst liebenswürdigem und freundlichen Personal. Dank an Alle! Leider sind die öffentlichen Räume viel zu kalt. Mindestens lange Ärmel oder leichte Jacke braucht es. Der Aussenbereich ist wunderschön, mit vielen Pflanzen und einem hübschen Pool. Eine richtige, kleine Oase in der Grossstadtwüste. Das Zimmer ist angemessen gross und die Betten sauber und bequem. Leider war der Balkon schmutzig und der Sessel an 2 Stellen zerrissen. Das ist für ein Hotel, welches 5 Sterne haben will, absolut inakzeptabel. Die Duschentüre hatte einen hingebastelten Griff aus scharfkantigem Aluminium an welchem man sich die Finger verletzt. Wir mussten 2000 Baht Depot hinterlegen, aber die Minibar war leer. Auch das ist für ein 5-Sterne Hotel absolut inakzeptabel. Die Taschenlampe für den Notfall war nicht funktionsfähig. Ein gutes Haus mit Verbesserungspotential.

Wir waren schon öfter in Mövenpick Hotels in Südostasien. So war es naheliegend, auch in Bangkok Erfahrungen mit Mövenpick zu sammeln. Gleich vorweg: Wir waren erneut sehr zufrieden. Die Lage - inmitten der quirligen Stadt und dennoch ruhig. Kein Verkehrslärm hat den Schlaf beeinträchtigt. Überhaupt fühlten wir uns in einer Oase, weil der Pool stimmig in die grüne Szenerie eingebettet ist. Die Anzahl der Liegen ist ausreichend. Das Frühstück ließ keinen Wunsch offen. Die Mitarbeiter waren überaus freundlich und unterstützten uns bei Anliegen. Das Zimmer hat unsere Erwartungen erfüllt. Wenn uns Bangkok wieder ruft, wird Mövenpick unsere Destination fürs Übernachten sein.

5 star in general BUT… It’s a beautiful hotel with an extremely relaxing swimming pool—a peaceful, green oasis right in the middle of a busy city. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable, well trained. Unfortunately, the experience changes completely at night. The constant noise from motorbikes and cars makes it very difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep. As much as I love the greenery, the atmosphere, and the wonderful hospitality of the staff, the nighttime noise is simply too disturbing. Besides the noise, the hot water system is another serious concern. The water can suddenly become extremely hot without warning. If you are staying with children, please be especially careful and supervise them when using the shower or bathtub, as there could be a risk of burns. Also, be careful with the long stainless-steel faucet protruding over the bathtub. It is quite hard and awkwardly positioned, so it is easy to accidentally bump into it and hurt yourself. This is something the hotel should seriously consider improving, particularly for families with young children. Sadly, for this reason alone, I would not stay here again.
