The worst experience with them!!!! I won't go back to any Riu again!! After getting there from Los Angeles they told us that they don't have a room for us !! We had 3 rooms reserved with them!!! And they wanted to send us to 2 different riu hotels!!! Ridiculous!!!! Very mad very disappointed!! And we end up going to different hotel!! Thank God that we made the reservation through the travel agent!!! Never never going back to riu again

I want to be fair in this review because the location is gorgeous and the staff are generally friendly. But there were enough problems during our stay that I feel obligated to share them honestly. We arrived and were told at check-in that my name and birthdate had been changed in their system. When I asked them to fix it, they said they couldn't. Not a great start. The room was okay but the jacuzzi and bathtub were both dirty on arrival. We paid specifically for a jacuzzi room and never used it. The food is where things got serious. On our first night we ate at the Japanese restaurant. The shrimp was served undeveined — a basic preparation step that was skipped entirely. The sushi was cold and clearly not fresh. By the next morning my girlfriend was vomiting, had chills, and was having difficulty breathing. She was sick for the entire day — a full vacation day lost. When we reported it, management was apologetic but offered nothing beyond sending a doctor at our own expense. We escalated to a supervisor and then requested the GM. Every level of management responded the same way: "we have no other complaints so we can't compensate you." I've never heard that used as a reason to do nothing for a guest who got sick at your restaurant. A few other observations: plates at the buffet were visibly unclean on multiple visits. After 4 full drinks at the resort I felt nothing — a stark contrast to 2 sips of a margarita at the airport before arrival. Make of that what you will. The resort is beautiful and the location is hard to beat. But the food safety standards, sanitation, and management response to legitimate concerns left a lot to be desired. We ended up eating off-resort for the remainder of our trip, which partly defeats the purpose of an all-inclusive. Would think carefully before booking here again.

Resort is very clean, the smell was pleasant. People were always cleaning, check in was a breeze, luggage was taken to our room. At the front desk they ran thru the map and where to find things. Doris from house keeping was excellent in service and left our room clean and very respectful. Food was good but not excellent. Some items could use some work but with the options on the other restaurants you have options . Pools were clean and beach was clean and the service was probably the best . Everyone was quick and at your service . Riu party was so much fun . Went to the all white and the neon party and both were so much fun . We went to a few shows on the resort and it was great time to spend and watch something new. I would recommend exploring this resort . I do plan to explore their other location like Riu Cancún and Riu Caribe and others.

My wife and I along with another couple visited for five days. We have been to multiple.RIU resorts in many different tropical locations, and I’ve never been dissatisfied. Staff was very attentive. Everything was clean. The food at this particular hotel was better than the others we have been to. Nightlife is crazy fun. There is a shared area between the RIu Peninsula Palace and the next door RIU Caribe with an outstanding outdoor party venue. We attended three different rocking parties there. There is a walkway between the two locations. We heard while we were there that this RIU Peninsula Palace hotel was going to close for most of the summer and be totally revamped. I was kind of surprised because the grounds and hotel looks to be in pretty awesome shape already. But apparently some infrastructure needs redoing. Will be interesting to see how they redesign it.

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Riu Palace Peninsula in Cancun! 🌴✨ Our group of 8 traveled to celebrate my mom’s birthday, and the resort was the perfect place for us to make some great memories together. 🎉💕 From the beautiful property and breathtaking views to the overall atmosphere, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the food had plenty of options, and there was always something going on. Our rooms were comfortable, clean, and had beautiful views. We especially loved being right by the beach and having access to the pools, activities, and entertainment. There was something for everyone in our group, whether we wanted to relax, enjoy the beach, or have some fun. Celebrating my mom’s birthday with 7 other family members made the trip even more special, and Riu Palace Peninsula gave us a beautiful setting to celebrate her 70th birthday! 🎂🥂🌴 Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely consider staying here again. If you’re looking for an all-inclusive resort in Cancun for a relaxing getaway, celebration, or group trip, I would definitely recommend Riu Palace Peninsula! ☀️🌊💕

Great stay, amenities, restaurants, and staff! Very courteous and prompt service. The only downside is that the AC in the room was not strong enough and only went down to like 74F. We stayed in the adults-only area of the resort.
