Ugh.. I hate that Im sitting here post $4000 stay making this review. The good: Grounds were nice, lots of wildlife and nice landscaping. The staff were always working to maintain. Most, not all, of the staff was friendly and welcoming. The made to order tacos at Delores (lunch buffet) were really good. The bad: We were not given any welcome info upon arrival, instead we had to pay for wifi ($60 per device) for our entire group and immediately tried up selling on the room The food was just bad, especially the main buffet. We all had stomach issues after eating it. We tried booking the restaurants and were only able to get two 9:30pm reservations. We were so rushed at Hacienda (Mexican restaurant) that we felt bad for coming. You could tell they just heated up our food..it was the worst Mexican Ive ever had. The drinks were mostly meh other than the bar at the Ventus Ha lobby which actually was a legitimate bartender. Everything else felt like cheap Applebee's style drinks with no alcohol. The beach... Well there wasn't one. I guess the ocean view was nice? I could get a better beach on Lake Michigan - in winter. The pools looked nice but were seriously 50 degrees and virtually no one used them. The hot tubs were dirty and felt like warm bathwater. There is constant up selling and false advertising here. For example, we did the bike tour into town (which we enjoyed - Thanks Brittany) but why do they ask you to leave a review for the tour that actually just leaves a review for the resort? It's dishonest - half of these 5 star reviews are just people who did activities. If you just want to lay in the sun next to a mid pool - I suggest doing it somewhere less expensive. I felt less rested after this trip. I really wanted to enjoy this but I honestly would rather just go to Florida.

Dear Ventus at Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort Team, Thank you very much for the wonderful stay at your resort. We truly appreciated the warm welcome and the high level of service throughout our visit. The staff was always friendly, attentive, and professional, which made our experience very comfortable and enjoyable. The resort itself is beautiful, well maintained, and offers a relaxing atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the beach area🙂, pools, and the overall cleanliness of the facilities. The food and drinks were also very good with a nice variety of options. Overall, we had a great experience and would gladly consider staying here again in the future. Thank you for making our vacation memorable.

The resort was amazing! Service, pools were clean, heated one was my favourite in night time, hot tubs and the beaches! Food was incredible, stake being barbecue in demand as you wait! I have been in hospitality business since 1993, worked with all kinds of people in Canada! I have never experienced more love and compassion in my life from the employees that served us in all areas smiles were never short, or the love hand over the heart greetings as we walked by! I had tears 😭leaving touched by the experiment ! My first time in à resort with my daughter and her fiancé! I do not want to forget the gardens and the people maintaining them! Love love Marina El CID, Venus and Venus-Ha paradise with the tallest oh my God beautiful trees!

I stayed at Ventus at Marina El Cid with my family for vacation, and unfortunately I had a very disturbing experience. Two staff members wearing name tags Jimmy and Mago approached me multiple times. Based on what they personally said to me, they offered to arrange illegal drugs and prostitution/escort girls if I was interested. The way Jimmy and Mago approached me made it seem like they were working together as a team, which made the situation even more concerning. I was shocked and extremely disappointed, especially because I was there with my wife and child on a family vacation. This is completely unacceptable behavior at a resort that presents itself as a family-friendly 5-star property. I did not expect to be approached with offers like this while staying with my family. I hope management seriously investigates what happened and speaks with Jimmy and Mago about this situation. Guests should never have to experience something like this at a family resort. Very disappointing and uncomfortable experience.

We stayed here for 7 nights with our family. This resort, and the region around it, has been hit very hard by the Atlantic sargassum seaweed crisis. The beach looks like a disaster zone and there is a strong odor of rotten eggs that overwhelms the rest of the hotel grounds. We even smelled it in our room. Wonderful, friendly and hardworking staff deserves five stars. The many pools and the hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Full service restaurants were disappointing, buffet restaurants were ok. Room was very noisy. We could hear our neighbors at conversation level and everything outside as well. Room was very clean and spacious.

Stay at another all inclusive. The property looks nice and is fairly well maintained. Food is awful and you have to book reservations for everything. I found if you tip the concierge you have a better chance of getting a meal before 10 pm. Bar staff is friendly but the restaurant staff are rude and not helpful. We were there in a low season - early May and still had issues. No beach access and you only get internet access if you pay a premium. There are much better places to stay. Don’t waste your money here.
