This hotel was truly wonderful. The staff all very polite and modest, reception, cleaning, bar etc. Nothing was a trouble. Everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast was a great choice. We loved the roof pools area, so clean and the amazing view! Just the guest should refrain from blocking all sun beds with towels for the whole day even when they were not present most day! Bad manners. The roof bar staff invited guests for one free drink of summer Sangria- that was a lovely gesture. The hotel is located in a street with lovely small shops and restaurants, the famous beach is walkable in 15-20 mins, we didn’t mind walking while others took a bus or taxi. But it’s quite hilly, so the way back is up the hill 😅. The hotel, in my opinion, is a good location away from the city hassle and over tourism, quieter area and easy to get to Comino or Gozo Island, which we did. We reserved a trip (through Solana web offer) Tuk-tuk sunset ride in Gozo and that was really nice. It includes a boat ride to the blue lagoon-swim, ride across the island with the best spots to see. It was a wonderful stay in this hotel!

Solana Hotel & Spa in Mellieħa was such a lovely stay and felt like affordable luxury in Malta. The hotel is beautiful, with four pools, including heated pools, an indoor pool, and stunning rooftop pools with the most gorgeous views. Our room felt very luxurious, spacious, and very clean, with a big beautiful bathroom. I also loved the little touches, like the robes and chocolates on arrival. We had a balcony with a beautiful view over the town and ocean, which made the stay feel even more special. The big TV with a Bluetooth speaker was also such a nice bonus. The spa amenities were really lovely, and the whole hotel felt relaxing and well looked after. The location is perfect if you want to stay somewhere a bit quieter, but still be within walking distance of a sandy beach and great restaurants. A beautiful, comfortable hotel and such a great option for anyone looking for a relaxing Malta stay without spending a fortune.

I have to begin by saying that the staff at this hotel are very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. The other good things for me were the decor and general modern vibe of the place. The Prickly Pear bar and the Tosca Italian restaurant are quite good and have a nice variety of food and cocktails on their menus and a happy hour in the evenings, .but if you sit at the front you can get a serious draft when the automatic doors open. The Upper Deck rooftop pool and bar area are pleasant to chill on, although that was quite literally the case on the first couple of days I was there when it was a little windy. There was a nice view from up there on the 7th floor. Talking of this rooftop bar area, I was a little confused when I went up a few days in to my stay to find work had started on construction of an extension to the bar building but there was absolutely NO kind of barrier erected to keep people away while the work was going on. The other issue with this work was that it started at 7am and the noise is hammering was quite audible on my floor. A lie in was therefore not really an option.. On the noise issue, the corridors of the hotel are built entirely of hard surfaces with no absorption and when people move about you hear absolutely everything. This is particularly annoying at night when large groups come in from whatever shenanigans they've been partaking in and their voices are amplified by...ahem...good spirits. The buffet restaurant, Bellini, on Level -1 was just about OK. It was certainly big enough, but I did find it hard to hide away in a corner away from large groups who'd reserved tables without being a long way from the food. The food itself was a mixed bag. Breakfast was a bit samey and not of particularly great quality. The scrambled eggs and bacon were not good at all and the coffee from the machines was grim. I had my evening meal there a couple of times and the price seemed reasonable for the all inclusive style where you help yourself to beer and wine but they were running out of glasses half an hour after opening time. The food again was mixed. I found a few decent options including some nice desserts, but I was particularly disappointed in the pizza they had on offer on the Italian night. It was pure stodge like you would get at school dinners. When you compare to what was served in the Italian on the ground floor, it was night and day. My room was decent and comfy enough and they serviced it every day. The bathroom was big enough but there was a bit of a sulphur smell at times. I didn't try the spa or lower pool but they looked nice. All in all, a nice hotel with some room for improvement.

Krásný hotel se skvělým personálem. Moderní, čisté, denní úklid, výborná a bohatá polopenze, tematické večeře. Možnost pozdějšího check-out. Bazény, sauna, tělocvična v ceně, masáže a wellness služby Nataraya za poplatek. V blízkosti bus zastávky - s kartou Tallinja v dosahu celý ostrov za velmi slušnou cenu. Vřele doporučuji i na mimosezonni pobyt.

Pokoj v přízemí - denně nás budí zápach odpadů z koupelny, přímo nad jídelnou, takže vrzání židlí, hluk klimatizace, vrtačky, uklízečka nezavřela dveře a celý den byl pokoj přístupný všem. Rozhodně to není klidné místo. Na střeše jsou dva bazény s lehátky a hezkým výhledem - drink na objednávku s čekací dobou 1 hodina. Obstojné snídaně.

Hotel je v mirném kopci, daleko od pláže. Dětský koutek je bez hraček a velmi strohý. Kvůli hluku jsme požádali o výměnu pokojů. Ze 3 pokojů nám byly vyměněny pouze 2. Za celý pobyt se nám nikdo nevěnoval. Pokoje jsou hezky zařízené, ale poněkud odfláknuté.
