We just returned from a week long stay. We also had some family come down with us -we were a group of 12. Overall we were really happy with our stay at Sugar Bay!! Our room was close to the pool (not oceanfront), it was a bit dated (bathroom especially) but it was always very clean. We are a family of 4 with 2 kids that are 10 and 15. The room worked great for us, we had a cot and used the pullout couch as well. A small minor issue is a lot of people in our group kept having the bracelets either come off or untie. I love the idea of the room key that stays on but it might be a good idea to look for a more sturdy material. When my parents arrived they gave them a room on the 4th floor but I requested they be moved and they were very willing to accommodate. My mother recently had a hip replacements and there was a lot of stairs getting all the way up the 4th floor (and one place without a stair railing). I will say they promptly switched them rooms,and we appreciated their flexibility. The a la carts (Umi and Sizzle) were both fantastic!!! It was a bit slower for service but we are a group fo 12 so that always takes longer to serve a large group. The food at the resort in general was amazing. So much variety and options. I think the food was one of the highlights!!! The staff there are all courteous and friendly. The bay was beautiful and the kids enjoyed snorkeling and seeing fish. The water varied from being calm to rough quite often. We were also fortunate not to have any sargassum during our stay but it showed up the last day. Our kids preferred the pool so we mainly hung around there. The pool is stunning and they had a blast playing in it. All in all, we are glad we chose Sugar Bay for our resort during our trip to Bardados. Thank you for the memories!!! We would definitely recommend!! It was a great balance of liveliness and relaxation which can be hard to come by.

I stayed at Sugar Bay Barbados and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I’m sharing this because I relied on Google reviews when booking, which were overwhelmingly positive, and I wish I had seen a more balanced perspective. We tipped consistently throughout our stay, even when service was inconsistent. While a few staff members like Shakella, Sharika, and Nginia were genuinely kind and helpful, many other interactions were disappointing. At breakfast on 4/12, Mya ignored us when we ordered coffee and orange juice, and we eventually had to get them ourselves. Later that day around 4pm, Nicholas M was visibly rude when we requested coconut milk for iced coffee, and later at the beach bar around 7pm, he again came across as dismissive and unprofessional when we ordered peanuts at the bar. The most frustrating experience was on 4/14 with Sharice and Maggie (manager) regarding reheating food after checkout. Sharice seemed annoyed when we first asked, and when Maggie came out, her tone was condescending and dismissive, as if we were wrong for asking. This was especially frustrating because the front desk had given us wristbands specifically allowing us to remain on the property after checkout and continue using the buffets and bars until 3pm. We were also not informed that outside food was not allowed on the property, as per Maggie. We had eaten at QP Bistro(outside of the resort) and our room did not have a microwave, which added to the confusion and inconvenience. Other issues included canceled activities after arrival (yoga class), unclear dining restrictions for shorter stays (only access to one a la carte restaurant since we paid to stay for 4 nights), and a room that felt dated with a musty moldy smell. Overall, the service and communication did not match the expectations of an all-inclusive resort at this price point. Unfortunately, I would not return or recommend to anyone. The beach was nice and food was OK

Just back from 1st visit to Barbados. Highly recommend Sugar Bay. The staff are friendly and attentive. Room was spacious and clean. The food was varied and there was always something for everyone. The beach area is great. We all felt very safe swimming because of the rocks creating a lagoon. We made full use of the free snorkeling gear and spotted so many shoals of fish. A wonderful chilled place. Will return.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sugar Bay. Great and amazing hotel. The whole staff and management are so nice, professional and accommodating. They made our stay wonderful and relaxing. It’s in a great location right on Hastings. The pool and beach area is chill and relaxing. The bartenders at both beach bars and Pool bar made the best drinks!! The buffets at the Reef restaurant were amazing, with lots of menu options. Also loved the lunch menus at the beach restaurant. The whole facility and rooms are always clean. Staff, Food, drinks, beach and pool are spot on.

Sugar Bay Barbados absolutely exceeded every expectation! From the moment we arrived, the staff treated us like family and made every second unforgettable. The beach is straight out of a postcard with crystal-clear water and soft white sand, the food was incredible (seriously, every meal hit), and the drinks never stopped flowing. The rooms were spotless, the vibe was relaxed but fun, and there was always something to do. Whether you're looking to chill by the ocean, enjoy amazing restaurants, or soak up the island atmosphere, this place delivers on every level. If you're thinking about Barbados, stop overthinking it—book Sugar Bay. This wasn't just a vacation, it was an experience I'll never forget. 10/10, five stars, and I'd go back in a heartbeat!

I stayed at Sugar Bay for 4 nights with friends for our annual girl’s trip. The resort is well maintained and there were scheduled activities/events every day for those who were looking for entertainment or something to do. There were plenty of water activities offered and the staff who worked at the water sport shack were very helpful. The food at the resort was amazing! The staff are friendly, and the front desk was very accommodating. I would absolutely return to this resort!
