Rome Ciampino Smart Hotel (Ciampino)

Good hotel overall; however, the staff stole one of my items. The hotel is "conveniently" located on the other side of Ciampino Airport, so you still need to get a €25 taxi (if you can find one at night), take a bus, or walk for 1.5 hours. Access is simple with a code system. There are not many amenities, just a couple of vending machines and a coffee machine. The room was nice, spacious, and clean, as was the bathroom. Here's where the review gets 2 stars. I left my small bag with toiletries in the bathroom, and when I first asked about it, they said they did not find it. They then said that they did and that I could pick it up; however, when I did, the electric shaver was missing. So be very careful about accidentally leaving your things, as they will absolutely be taken, especially if they're valuable.

Nos robaron un perfume de €300 Abrieron un chocolate que tenía en la mesa de Louis vouiton y se comieron 2 pedazos, dicen que se derritió pero el resto del chocolate estaba intacto. Asi mismo mienten no esta cerca el Aeropuerto FCO, No recomiendo quedarse aqui.

Let’s start with the good stuff. -had great and prompt communication with the staff via email. Very helpful, quick and professional. Well done! -Location: hotel based a few km away from the airport, you can book a taxi directly with them for 25€ from the airport. Great taxi driver (Giorgio) Let’s move now to the bad things -noise: if you plan to don’t sleep , that’s the place you want to be. Walls are so thin that you can hear not only other guests talking, but even water noise. Our first night was totally a nightmare, couldn’t sleep until 2am. Absolutely the worst experience. Please note that they do provide ear plugs, which means they are totally aware of the problem, but it doesn’t help. -Cleanliness: the shower had some hairs on the wall and soap bottles, a clear sign that this wasn’t clean properly. Shower gel felt like was diluted with water. Shower door can’t be closed properly, so it remains a bit open and water can leak. We spent €140 a day, and we certainly expected a better experience in terms of cleaning, and overall sleep quality. So sad, because the train station is nearby, as well as the airport, and supermarkets/restaurants are only a few min walk away. Room had also air conditioning which helped us a lot because room can get hot.

Stanze pulite. Stanza piccola bagno piccolissimo senza bidet. Colazione al sacchetto. Mura sottili da sentire tutti i rumori di corridoio e altre camere. Condizionatore sopra la testa. Acqua solo dal distributore di bevande (2€) È uno smart hotel quindi la mattina non c'è nessuno e ovviamente nemmeno la notte. Ho pagato 150€ circa, uno sproposito per una struttura simile a Ciampino.

We had two rooms. One was absolutely fine. The second, 105, had a very, very strong smell of bleach from the bathroom, which had spread to the bedroom. It was nauseating. The hotel was unmanned at the time we arrived so we couldn't change room and we left for a flight early the next morning. I sent an email to express disappointment once we were back in the UK. The hotel customer services suggested we were not being truthful because the 'cleaner has a good sense of smell and had checked every room' (yes, you really couldn't make it up!). We were offered some discount at that specific hotel (unsatisfactory - we won't be going back). I basically decided I wouldn't bother with a review or progress further. However, I then received a further email, effectively threatening me with legal action! So I decided to write a review after all. Quote from their email as follows: 'Of course, you are free to share your experience and leave a review, and we respect that right. However, we would like to clarify that, should any statement be published that is false or damaging to the hotel's reputation, we reserve the right to protect ourselves through the appropriate channels, including legal counsel, and to seek compensation for any damages incurred'. If nothing goes wrong...it's a decent, if over priced hotel.

A great place to use as a base to go and explore what time and the surrounding areas have to offer. Don’t bother with a €25 euro taxi. Take the €1.20 bus and it will drop at the station 100 yds away from the hotel. Hotel is clean and basic but had great AC
