Hotel Atlantica Beach Resort

We stayed at Atlantica Beach Resort Kos in early June. TUI advertises this hotel as a 5-star resort, but based on our experience, it was closer to a 3-star. I appreciate that the resort has different accommodation areas. If you’re staying in the newer swim-up room section, I can see why it might deserve a 5-star rating. However, we had one of the standard rooms, which were tired, worn, and certainly didn’t meet the standard I’d expect from a 5-star hotel. The communal areas also felt dated and in need of refurbishment, lacking the quality and atmosphere you’d expect from a luxury resort. The gym was another disappointment. Some of the equipment was broken, and it appeared the hotel was relying on guests to report faults rather than carrying out regular maintenance checks. The all-inclusive food was average - nothing particularly special. Some dishes were either undercooked or overcooked, and the rice was often undercooked and not properly boiled. Unfortunately, two members of our party became ill with what we suspected was food poisoning. While I can’t say for certain where it came from, I wasn’t surprised after seeing poor food handling practices, including chefs wearing ripped gloves and stacking food on top of other food. It was really off-putting and didn’t inspire confidence in the hygiene standards. Don’t be fooled by the Italian restaurant. It’s essentially the same food as the main buffet restaurant, just on a much smaller scale. There was pizza and a couple of Italian-inspired dishes added, but the selection was very limited. We actually ended up going back to the main restaurant afterwards because there wasn’t enough choice, and we noticed other guests doing the same. The all-inclusive alcoholic drinks were also disappointing. The quality was poor and certainly not what you’d expect from a hotel marketed as 5-star. The entertainment was also very poor, especially for a resort of this size. There was very little variety, and the evening entertainment felt underwhelming compared with other all-inclusive resorts we’ve visited. The location was another downside. Getting a taxi into Kardamena was extremely difficult, with waits of up to an hour on several occasions. Overall, I don’t feel this hotel lives up to its 5-star rating, and I wouldn’t recommend spending the extra money to stay here.

Rooms are average, beds pushed together, shower over a bathtub. No walk in shower options. Can hear everything that’s going on outside and conversations in other rooms too. Food is average. “Italian restaurant” is also just another buffet. We ate out most evenings instead. Most of the same things were served each night despite it being themed dinners. No covers over the food on the snack bar, flies regularly landing on the kebab meat and chips that are being served. Drinks aren’t branded or premium, watery alcoholic cocktails are served. Soft drinks are regularly flat. Location is a 40+ minute walk or 10 minute drive from anywhere lively. Can also be a long wait for a taxi. Buses are infrequent and there are none on a Sunday. Entertainment isn’t great but the staff themselves are nice. The entertainment stage is very small. The grounds are nice and so is the beach with options to sunbathe there. The adult pool is on the opposite side of the hotel and the water is up to two metres deep. No swim up bar. No sauna, jacuzzi, beds over water etc. the spa is simply a massage. Nowhere near enough sun beds, you have to put a towel down around 7:30-08:00am to guarantee one. Doesn’t feel 5 star at all, the stay is not worth the price. Wouldn’t return sadly.

First of all this could have been amazing Visit for the location not anything else The room has a lot of ants, so the surroundings It's unpersonal service and they charge massive for anything extra for instance late checkout is 180 euro (18 o'clock)and it's not valid for dinner that day because dinner start 1830 The food is always almost good . Undercooked or overcooked . Dry meat , dry chicken and dry fish. Rice is not boiled , Drinks taste good but can't get a buzz even after 8 drinks, wine and beers. Is everything alcohol free? The entertainment group is a lot of kids and is not entertainment . But fun for small kids And the stage is not a stage compared to other ai resort ive been to. The best I can say is a nice pool and nice beach. Also the Filipinos work there try their best and are trying to deliver a good experience The spa was expensive and treatment were also as the food almost good. And then after they will try to scam you with super expensive products. 89 euro for a small lotion The photos shoot was nice but have not received pictures even after 3 days waiting. Price was 90 euro for 20 pics. Good value if we get the pictures 🙏🙏 There's a ice-cream truck but it was closed the full week. Kids could only get overpriced ice cream in a kiosk at the residence or at lunchtime 😡😡 but often fast empty The pool closes 18 or 19 to my kids frustration. Don't understand why we can't swim in the evening All in all I would like to visit again if I can skip all inclusive or maybe if they get real chefs in the kitchen

Eine sehr grosse Enttäuschung. Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht. Im ersten Zimmer wurden wir mit zahlreichen Mängel konfrontiert: Schmutzige und Beschädigte Vorhänge, zwei Einzelbetten (bei der Buchung wurde mit King-Size gebucht), Klimaanlage war verschmutzt, TV des Nachbars konnte man deutlich hören, ständiger Lärm vor dem Zimmer, Karaoke Nacht bis Mitternacht, trotz Nachfrage für neue Strandtücher erhielten wir keine Neue, unser Gepäck wurde trotz Zusage nicht aufs Zimmer gebracht - als ich zur Rezeption ging, stand das Gepäck draussen, obwohl wir ausdrücklich ein Doppelbett angefragt hatten, bekamen wir zwei zusammengestellte Betten, Qualität des Essens kann man überhaupt nicht als 5 Stern bezeichnen. Die Hotelanlage an sich ist schön, aber ganz klar bei diesem Service/ dieser Dienstleistung kein 5 Stern Hotel. Würde dem Hotel 3 Sterne geben.

Das Hotel ist kein 5-Sterne-Hotel, sondern eher ein 3-Sterne-Hotel. Das Essen war gut, aber die alkoholfreien Getränke haben uns nicht geschmeckt. Solche Getränke kennt man in Deutschland oder Österreich kaum, und normalerweise trinkt man so etwas nicht. Die Strandanlage war viel zu klein. Wenn man nach dem Frühstück an den Strand gegangen ist, gab es keine freien Plätze mehr. Wir haben fast 30 Minuten nach einem Platz gesucht, sowohl am Strand als auch im Poolbereich, aber nichts gefunden. Schließlich haben wir etwa zwei Stunden in der Bar gewartet, bis ein Platz frei wurde. Für mich entspricht das keinem 5-Sterne-Hotel. Die Musik war abends außerdem sehr laut und lief bis 23:00 Uhr. Insgesamt hatten wir eine schöne Zeit hier, aber leider entsprach das Hotel nicht unseren Erwartungen an ein 5-Sterne-Hotel.

Insgesamt würden wir dem Atlantica Beach Resort Kos, wie schon unsere Vorredner, keine fünf Sterne geben. Wir hatten ein Standard-Doppelzimmer mit Meerblick. Der Ausblick auf das Meer war wirklich überwältigend und das absolute Highlight unseres Aufenthalts. Das Zimmer selbst wirkte jedoch bereits in die Jahre gekommen und könnte eine Modernisierung vertragen. Die Anlage verfügt aber auch über moderne Zimmer: Bei der Buchung sollte man daher unbedingt auf eine höhere Zimmerkategorie achten. Die Lage des Hotels ist hervorragend. Es ist nahezu komplett vom Meer umgeben, bietet mehrere Bars sowie zwei Pools, darunter einen Erwachsenenpool. Der Eingang ins Meer ist steinig, Badeschuhe sind hier ein Muss. Zudem ist das Resort vom Flughafen aus schnell erreichbar. Da das Hotel in der Anflugschneise liegt, sind Flugzeuge regelmäßig zu sehen und zu hören, was uns persönlich jedoch nicht gestört hat. Die Themenrestaurants waren bereits eine Woche im Voraus vollständig ausgebucht. Aufgrund der eher durchwachsenen Bewertungen dieser Restaurants hatten wir allerdings nicht das Gefühl, etwas verpasst zu haben. Das Essen im Hauptrestaurant war gut, aber keineswegs herausragend. Die Auswahl bot nur wenig Abwechslung und es gab vergleichsweise wenige landestypische Spezialitäten. Insgesamt schien das Angebot eher auf die zahlreichen englischen Gäste ausgerichtet zu sein. Kulinarische Highlights haben wir während unseres Aufenthalts leider nicht erlebt. Die Getränke im All-inclusive-Angebot entsprachen dem üblichen Standard lokaler Marken und waren in Ordnung, ohne besonders hervorzustechen. Fazit: Das Resort punktet vor allem mit seiner traumhaften Lage und dem fantastischen Meerblick. Wer besonderen Wert auf moderne Zimmer, abwechslungsreiche Gastronomie und ein echtes Fünf-Sterne-Erlebnis legt, könnte jedoch etwas enttäuscht sein. Insgesamt hatten wir einen angenehmen Aufenthalt, sehen aber noch Luft nach oben.
