Arrived by private transfer through Jet2. We were asked for passports then told our room was not ready and they did not know when it would be but check in had to be ready by 3pm. We were then sent to get food but with no idea where we were going. We found food being served outside a restaurant and were ignored by the person serving before he had a go at my 13 year old daughter and told her to queue on the other side. There was no queue and no sign about where to go. One very rude individual. We then had to explain ourselves as without a room number to verify we were all inclusive they wanted to charge us. We finally ate and returned to reception. 3pm came land our room was still not ready. Finally about 20 mins later we were told our room was ready and a lady took a to our room but the key cards wouldn’t allow her access so we had to wait for someone to come and help. Once in the room I can only say I have been completely conned and ripped off by Jet2 claiming this is 5 star. Having paid a lot of money for a bungalow with private pool these are the issues we have found after a couple of hours. There is a shower room but it has the toilet in it?! Never come across this before and can’t use it as if anyone needs the toilet they will have to walk through water to get to it. Other option is a shower in a bath but a rubbish shower in a very tight space with a 1980s shower curtain. The two bits of shower glass there are have not been sealed together so with a gap for water to go through between them. There also seems to be a lot after leak as flooding water everywhere in the bathroom. Ants in living area. Squashed bugs on wall. Dirty. Damp stains on bedroom wall. Outside there is a puddle by the back door that means you can’t enter the room without walking water inside. The private patio is disgusting.

We had a wonderful 7 night stay at Grecotel Creta Palace. It’s located on a beautiful stretch of sandy beach and a 10 min taxi into Rethymon town. The one thing that stood out to us about the hotel is the staff; they are so friendly, warm and welcoming especially in the the à la carte restaurant. We found the food really good across all restaurants and our favourite was the à la carte for lunch. The drinks and cocktails are top quality. We had a lovely cleaner who was fantastic and our room was always cleaned to a high standard. We had our baby with us and the hotel provided items such a bath tub, changing mat, high chair, etc which made such a difference. The hotel interiors are stunning and they have renovated the hotel beautifully. Overall it’s a hotel we would definitely return to in the future.

Dovolená v tomto resortu bohužel nebyla podle mých představ. Byli jsme s manželkou ubytováni v bungalovu, který přímo sousedil s jiným bungalovem (apartmánem) a byl s ním propojen interiérovými dveřmi umístěnými naproti postele. Ve druhém apartmánu, který od našeho pokoje oddělovaly pouze tyto tenké dveře, byla ubytovaná rodina s malými dětmi. V noci nás opakovaně budil hysterický pláč dítěte ze sousedního bungalovu (3x - 5x za noc). Mám za to, že tento nekomfort byl způsobený především umístěním "propojovacích" dveří ve spací části ubytování. Tuto skutečnost jsme zprvu tolerovali a snažili jsme se si toto nepohodlí nepřipouštět, ale po třetí noci, jsme už s manželkou byli opravdu nevyspalí a zoufalí, a co víc, v průběhu třetí noci do předmětných dveří někdo z vedlejšího bungalovu několikrát silně udeřil, a to i přestože jsme tou dobou dávno spali a důvod tohoto bouchání nám tedy zůstává neznámý (napadá mě pouze mé možné chrápání, které by však ve srovnání s neustálým hlasitým pláčem dítěte bylo zanedbatelné, vzhledem k tomu, že ani manželku chrápání neprobudilo). Další den jsme proto na recepci žádali změnu pokoje, popř. jiné řešení situace, abychom se alespoň pár posledních dnů mohli vyspat (přece jen jsem na dovolené). Problém jsme rovněž řešili telefonicky s delegátem. Na recepci jsme se dočkali spíše opovrhujících a výsměšných pohledů a žádné řešení problému do konce zájezdu nenastalo. Byli jsme velmi zklamaní přístupem hotelu k řešení situace. Pro nás tento diskomfort znamenal nevyspání, narušené soukromí a zkaženou letní dovolenou za nemalé peníze. Kdybychom věděli, že nás od vedlejšího bungalovu budou dělit pouze tenké dveře, přes které bylo slyšet úplně všechno, určitě bychom ubytování v tomto hotelu nezvolili. Přinejmenším by bylo ze strany hotelu nebo cestovní kanceláře vhodné potenciální hosty na tuto skutečnost dopředu upozornit, popř. zde ubytovávat pouze skupiny osob cestujících společně.

Das Hotel besticht in unseren Augen besonders durch seine Lage, dem Aufbau und dem Personal. Sicherlich gehört das Hotel zu der eher gehobenen Kategorie. Aber man bekommt dafür auch jede Menge geboten. Die Anlage ist sehr schön angelegt mit seinen Palmen, der Grünanlage, der vielen Pflänzchen und Blumen, Springbrunnen und natürlich der Ausstattung. Die Hotellobby und der Eingangsbereich sind sehr einladend gemacht und laden ein zum Verweilen. Liegen in allen möglichen Varianten gibts im Familienbereich, im Zentralbereich und am Strand. Wir waren nur am Strand und haben selbst Mittags noch Liegen bekommen. Man kann auch ganze Pavillons mieten wenn man will. Im Poolbereich muss man schneller sein. Ich konnte manche Tage schon früh 6:30 Leute beim Reservieren beobachten. Das Hotel hat mehrere Restaurants mit verschiedenen Schwerpunkten die über die ganze Anlage (inklusive Dach) verteilt sind. Und jedem etwas bieten. Für uns war auch die Lage des Hotels entscheidend. Wir wollten eine eher ruhige Lage aber dennoch nicht zu weit weg von der Stadt. Und das passt beim Creta Palace sehr gut. Das Personal war auch stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Und die paar Dinge/Fragen die wir mal hatten wurden sehr gut abgearbeitet. Besonders unser kleiner Hinweis mit dem Essen im Restaurant... In diesem Sinne Vielen Dank für den tollen Urlaub von den "Strong-Tzaziki-Guys" :-D

This is a fabulous hotel. Newly renovated, great rooms, friendly staff, fabulous breakfast, and a new waterpark. So why the 3*? 1) The waterpark is not able to be used by kids under 120cm (or 110 on an adults lap) which is not clear on the website, so needs to be more visible. 2) There are not enough sunbeds around the pools. This leads to people 'reserving' sunbeds from ~7am in order to ensure they have them. So if you arrive later in the morning there is nowhere to sit. In July this is annoying, in the height of the season it will be a real issue. And apparently often is at Greco resorts. There is also apparently a 30minute grace period for people to return to their reserved seats - this is not publicised to or honoured by guests. Greco needs to address this problem by: adding more beds (there is space, but they are trying to create a spacious vibe); putting notices about not allowing the reservation of beds with towels / the 30min grace period (will probably be ignored, but at least it can then be explicit); adding a free booking system as experienced on a previous holiday where you were able to have assigned beds for your whole stay (Olympus Resort, Paphos) - for this they need more beds. We stayed one night, but had an incredibly unpleasant experience with a rude, aggressive man who turned up to claim 'his' beds 45 minutes after we had arrived. He had eventually 'reserved' 8 beds for his family of 5! And we had to get staff involved to speak with him about his aggression in front of kids in the family pool. I am sure the staff don't constantly want to deal with towel wars, and neither do people who have paid a lot to stay at this hotel, so the management really need to take action so people can relax and enjoy their expensive stays!
