Hotel Wyndham Hoi An Royal Beachfront Resort & Villas

We booked a 3-bedroom family ocean view villa for our group of 6, and while the facilities and activities themselves are good, the terrible customer service ruined our stay. Our struggle started at check-in. The staff only provided 2 bottles of water for a 6-person reservation. When we requested more at 2:30 PM, it took until 6:00 PM and multiple phone calls to actually receive it. This became a daily battle; getting basic drinking water here takes forever, and the phone operators were consistently impolite and unhelpful. More importantly, this resort is not safe or attentive regarding children. First, a buggy driver driving recklessly through the resort area almost knocked down my 4-year-old child. The next day, my 4-year-old cut his foot. When we asked staff for first aid, they unhelpfully deflected us to the lifeguard counter. The pool guard there was too busy policing the rental floats and handing out towels to actually help us. He eventually just threw a bunch of plasters at us and walked away. The staff is incredibly slow and inattentive when you need help, yet they are magically alert when they want to enforce ridiculous rules. They actively stopped us from walking through a completely empty, off-peak restaurant to get to the lobby, forcing our family to walk a massive round instead. Due to the poor staff training and lack of basic hospitality, I cannot recommend this resort to families traveling with young children.

We stayed in the hotel, not the villas, on the right hand side block. The room was modern, clean, overlooking the pool and sea view. Breakfast was good, a little busy, but that's typical in these types of hotels. Staff were attentive and good choice of food. It's a short walk (5mins) from the hotel to the beach front, but they have electric carts if necessary. (It wasn't for us and we had a stroller). The focus seemed to be for families, so perfect for us, and a great break from the July heat, having the pool and ocean nearby. The main problem was the prices. It was around 180VND for a tiger draft (~330ml), where the cheapest we paid in the family restaurants in Hoi an (not the old town) was 15K VND. (For ~450ml Saigon). Average prices around Hoi An are closer to 50K. I understand the hotel will markup, but it felt too much. Perhaps this is the same level as all places close to the beach. Top tip, go to the beach front and to the left there is a small independent restaurant. Super nice staff with simple, but good food. Overall the hotel was perfect for what we needed, just be aware of the prices for food / drink.

Sadly, it was not a five-star experience. This hotel needs a facelift and a change of attitude. Main issues with this hotel: Service * For a five-star hotel, the service was disappointing; staff were sometimes rude and unhelpful, and it was often difficult to get assistance. * We had to call twice to have our room cleaned, and it wasn't cleaned on the day we arrived. * The pool area is frequently left with old towels, food, and bottles, and remains uncleaned for hours, making it hard to tell which areas are free or occupied. * Breakfast is chaotic, and there is no coffee or tea service, which you would expect at a five-star resort. Rooms * Be cautious if you're in Block A. The first room we were allocated (Twin Room on Floor 10) was outdated and badly in need of renovation. The room also had a fishy smell, which was very off-putting. It did not resemble the photos on their website or Google - complete false advertising. * After several discussions with management, we finally received an upgrade, which was much better, but it started our holiday on a negative note. Food * The hotel doesn’t allow you to bring food in, in an effort to encourage spending within the hotel. It's not cheap, and the food is quite average for a five-star hotel. * The best meal we had was at the Ocean restaurant, but it comes at a price! Overall, this hotel could be excellent, but it feels tired, underwhelming in service, and seems more focused on making money than providing five-star standards. Sadly, I wouldn't return, which is a shame as it has real potential to be a fantastic hotel. It just needs a change of attitude and some investment to truly live up to its stars.

Our stay at Wyndham Hoi An had a rocky start. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of our original room didn't meet our expectations, which was disappointing on arrival. That said, the hotel manager handled the situation professionally and upgraded us to another room. From that point on, our stay improved significantly, and we appreciated the effort made to turn the experience around. The service is an area that still needs work. There are moments where the team lacks polish and consistency, but what stood out to me was that it always felt genuine. The staff seem eager to help, and with more training and refinement, I believe the service could become one of the resort's strengths. As a photographer who works extensively with hotels, resorts, and F&B brands, I spend a lot of time observing guest experience, hospitality, and operational details. I can genuinely see the potential here. The foundations are in place—it just needs better execution and attention to detail. Overall, while our stay didn't begin as we had hoped, it ended on a much more positive note. I'd be happy to return and see how the resort continues to improve.

We stayed in a villa from July 12th to 16th. Overall, it’s a decent resort, but we had a few notable mixed experiences, especially when comparing it to our previous stay at Fusion. The Villa & Rooms: The rooms themselves are modern, decent, and well-equipped, but the layout is quite weird. Instead of a cohesive villa, it feels like four completely separate rooms divided by an outdoor space. To get from the living room to the two-bedroom section, or upstairs to the master room, you have to constantly step outside. Privacy around the villa's private pool is also lacking, as you are pretty much in plain view of everyone else. Additionally, there was a persistent sewer/dried fish smell outside and in one of our rooms; staff mentioned it comes from an industrial company next door, which wasn't great. Dining & Lounge: The food quality is quite good. Villa guests get access to a special set breakfast menu where you can order premium items like lobster omelettes and eggs Benedict, which is a great perk. The main restaurant selection is also very good, though it gets packed if you head down around 7:30 AM. The afternoon canapé/lounge service (3:00 PM – 5:00 PM) was a nice bonus, but the food selection was exactly the same every single day, which became a bit disappointing. It also gets very busy right at 3:00 PM on the dot. Resort Atmosphere & Amenities: The resort feels very crowded. Because the property layout seems a bit tight, guests are confined to smaller spaces, meaning every public pool was constantly packed. If you like working out, the gym is a letdown—it is very small with a pretty limited selection of equipment. It’s not a bad place, but if you prefer a more spacious, private, and less congested vibe, other resorts in the area might be a better fit.

Отель супер, сегодня заселились, очень радует свой пляж, территория отеля супер, персонал приветливый. Рядом с отелем магазинчик и три кафе с вкусной едой. Кто хочет спокойный отдых и умиротворение вам сюда, рядом Хойан (есть трансфер с отеля бесплатно), в Дананг съездить тоже не проблема (на такси 25-30мин). Сделали комплимент от отеля в честь дня рождения супруги, красиво украсили номер и приготовили тортик при заселении. Море просто великолепное, это надо отметить отдельно.
