The hotel is a quintessential Balinese. Located in a very nice part of Nusa Dua, only a few minutes walk away from shops and restaurant at the nearby open-air mall. The grand size of the resort itself is breathtaking and the surrounding gardens, water features and (some) native animals truly captures that picturesque holiday paradise. Although the hotel is an older establishment, and seeing other reviews about the room, we in particular are very happy with the room. Its spacious, clean, very nicely designed and have all the amenities we could think of. Its not modern stereotypically plain and sterile looking a newer hotel room would be, it is however detailed and wonderfully have a balinese feel. The downside: At the time of our visit (July) the hotel is way too busy and over capacitated with family and in particular young children. Most of the time the swimming pool is run over with kids and their very "rowdy" parents. This drops the impression of it not feeling like a 5 star establishment and more like a 3 star one. There is also a long line (and a queue) entering the breakfast areas at peak times in the morning. Although we have not waited longer than 10 min to be seated, but still could be managed better (maybe serving same breakfast buffet option in the other restaurants in the complex). If it wasnt for the crowd, I think we would given more star for our stay but seeing that we couldn't enjoy one of the major part of the hotel (the pool) it was just a little bit of a disappointment.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are in avrage condition and the entire property is dated but we'll looked after although not amazingly maintained. Everything is a little tired in general. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed our time. However they closed the bars for two nights due to a conference and offered no alternatives which is disappointing. A chair collapsed whilst I was sitting on it and whilst the staff who were there at the time were helpful enough, no follow-up was offered by management. Pools are in need of a refurbishment as are bedrooms and some eateries.

Stayed for 5 nights through Luxury Escapes as part of our 10th wedding anniversary trip. The resort grounds are beautiful and the staff were friendly, but the rooms were disappointing. We changed rooms from the north wing to the south wing because of a strong musty smell, but the replacement room had the same issue - suspect the poor aircon/ventilation system. The bathrooms also had visible black mould in the shower, and with no exhaust fan they stayed damp. The pools were consistently overcrowded, and during our stay the hotel hosted a loud evening event until around 10 pm. Guests were only notified on the day via a letter left after room service on the day Food and drinks were mixed. Some cocktails were great, while others tasted like mocktails. The breakfast "juice" tasted more like cordial than fresh juice. Japanese and Italian restaurant was our favourite, but they need to be booked as soon as you arrive. Unfortunately, we also came down with gastro during our stay. Pasar Sengol was cool with great performances. One final disappointment was that we were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary, but there was no acknowledgement from the hotel throughout our stay. Even a small gesture or greeting would have gone a long way. Overall, Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua has a fantastic location and beautiful gardens, but the maintenance issues, overcrowding, and lack of attention to detail meant it didn't feel like the five-star experience we expected.

The grounds of the resort are beautiful. We enjoyed a 10 night stay at the resort during which we dined at several of the onsite restaurants and pool bar. The beach in front of the resort is very clean and picturesque. The resort is large and spread out and we found our room to be well equipped and quiet despite the resort being at capacity. The service by staff at the pool bar was extremely attentive and friendly. A special mention to Pasek for his outstanding service by the pool.

We stayed here as a large family group for a 70th birthday. The resort itself is beautiful, the pools are fantastic, you are never bored, and the food is all very tasty (Pasar Senggol is a must-do!). The day-to-day staff are lovely. The location is also excellent with its close proximity to Bali Collection for easy shopping Unfortunately, coordination for our special occasion was deeply frustrating. The staff seem rigidly trained with zero outside-the-box flexibility - the exact opposite of 5 star service. We were told a single large table was impossible (16), yet we saw other big groups accommodated. We offered to pay extra for a special birthday setup but received no help. While they kindly thought to arrange a "Happy Birthday" note for the room, they mistakenly set up the wrong rooms. On the actual birthday night, despite booking months in advance, we were shoved into a dark area of the restaurant with no lighting and non-existent service just to try and accommodate a larger table, which still wasn’t big enough. Advice for future guests: 1. Definitely do the all-Inclusive package - the food quality makes it totally worth it. 2. Book dinners well in advance. Secure your reservations before you even arrive. If you do get stuck, speak to the restaurants directly rather than relying on the lobby booking desk or WhatsApp. We were told multiple times via WhatsApp that no tables were available, only for the restaurant itself to directly confirm they had space. 3. Pre-book a pool or beach cabana. Arrange this a day or so in advance so you don't have to worry about rushing down early to grab a spot. It takes the pressure off your morning, and secures a great base for the day. 4. If you don't have a dinner booking on your arrival night and the restaurants are full, head straight to the sports bar for a quick bite so your hungry kids don't have to wait until after 8pm to eat. Avoids a very stressful arrival experience. Would we come back? Yes, but only as a small family group. Not as a big group.

This is our fourth time back to the Grand Hyatt, in Nusa Dua Bali and it never lets our family down! With the last three visits we have been fortunate enough to secure the all-inclusive package, which gives us our accommodation, all meals and drinks, and for a family of four, this is an unbeatable deal! The hotel is one of the older venues in Nusa Dua, which means the rooms aren’t as modern as some of the competing hotels on the strip, but they are clean, have comfortable bedding and linen, decent air-con and a full bath/separate shower which is great when travelling with babies/toddlers who love their bath time, or Tweens who need to share the space! If you are looking for variety with a food and beverage offering, then this is absolutely the place to come! Traditional Indonesian at Watercourt, Italian at Salsa Verde, Japanese at Nampu and International fare at Grand Hyatt Bali’s (GHB) newest concept to receive a glow-up, the Garden Cafe. The quality of the food/beverage in each of these venues is 5-star, as is the service from the super-friendly staff, and dietary requirements are always catered for. In terms of relaxation and recreation, Kriya Spa offers the most indulgent spa treatments in a sanctuary amongst the gardens, and the Indoor Fitness Centre, squash courts, a place to sweat out some of the holiday indulgence and stretch the body. Our kids have absolutely loved going to the Kids Club over the years where the staff dote on your children and provide ample entertainment with a daily schedule of activities. Now that they are older, the Tweens Gaming Room, Table Tennis space in the Fitness Centre and road bikes for hire offer them more age-appropriate options! Possibly the highlight of this amazing hotel though, are the established gardens, feature ponds, landscaped pools, and kids waterslides, that run from the foyer at the entrance and lobby, down to the beach. They are lined with deck chairs, banana lounges and cabanas, where resort goers spend a few good hours of the day reading/snoozing in the sun, swimming and racing down the slides, and sampling the delicacies the Pool Bar has to offer…and this is where the sensational staff shine! Special shout out to Ari (one of the longest-standing and friendliest hosts poolside, he cannot do enough to make you and your loved ones feel at ease! Ari has been with GHB for 32 years and is the heart and soul of the pool area) Tiger, Devi (Pool Bar & Towels), Bunga, Shanti, Astawa, Linda, and all the wonderful staff who look after the busiest areas of the hotel! Even when every seat and table is taken, even when the orders are flowing left, right, and centre, even when the sun is belting down and they are running from order to order, these incredible people do so with a smile on their face and the most exceptional service! Grand Hyatt Bali is our happy place because it offers something for everyone in a clean, safe, visually stunning space, where you can curate your own experience and create memories to last a lifetime!
