I am only committed to writing this review simply because I am sure there is a solo traveler out there considering booking Arena Leme Hotel for their travels to Rio but are weary of some of these comments just as I was... DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NAY SAYERS! This hotel was above the standard set for my trip to Rio! I booked a ocean front room ( without a balcony) for 6 days and never had one single issue. My room was extremely comfortable and the only issue I found that wasn't a concern to me were that my phone in the room did not work as well as some of the usb outlets. I will also warn american travellers that the rooms do not have standard outlets for our devices so you will need to purchase a standard Brazilian Type C- adaptor. I purchased mine at the airport for a little less than $10 usd. The bathroom was a nice size and the air conditioning in the room worked perfectly! I saw a few comments regarding the smell of the rooms--- I always travel with room spray to use if I am not comfortable with a stale smelling space but in this case I found that the room only had a smell when using the air simply because if you know a thing or 2 about ventilation systems you'd know that the air is pulled from outside--- the hotel being across the street from the ocean is why the air had a smell. I wouldn't even consider it to be a bad smell or odor, just simply an ocean like scent that can be masked with a little spray. The front desk staff and the staff working at the restaurant were extremely kind and professional. The complimentary breakfast was very impressive and I even enjoyed a few meals from the hotel restaurant. This hotel is also in a very nice/safe area!!! As a solo traveller I never felt unsafe roaming around the community or entering/exiting my room at anytime of the day. I loved everything about this place and will totally be booking with them upon my next trip to Rio :)

Nuestra experiencia ha sido muy decepcionante. Pagamos 1.400 euros por dos noches y, aun así, al llegar a las 17.00l la habitación no estaba preparada, después de llevar un día entero de viaje. Como “compensación”, nos permitieron salir hoy a las 15:00, lo cual no compensa lo ocurrido, pero bueno lo agradecimos. Las vistas a la playa maravillosas, la habitación y las instalaciones muy buenas pero al hacer el check-out, nos cobran 10 dólares por dos botellas de agua, algo que nos parece totalmente desproporcionado teniendo en cuenta el precio ya pagado. Para colmo, al salir con las maletas para tomar un taxi hacia otro hotel, el taxista intentó cobrarnos un precio excesivo. Al acudir al portero del hotel para pedir ayuda, nos dio exactamente la misma versión (tráfico, excusas, etc.) y vimos cómo el taxista le entregaba un billete delante de nosotros. Delante de el cogimos un Uber y en 15 min estábamos en el hotel y pagando un precio aceptable. Nos hemos sentido engañados y desprotegidos por el propio hotel. Cuando uno paga una cantidad tan elevada espera confianza, profesionalidad y seguridad, y aquí ha ocurrido todo lo contrario. No recomendamos este hotel.

Unfortunately this place did not quite meet expectations. The rooms are fine but there was a weird smell combo of pee and old ladies fragrance. You needed a degree in engineering to work out how to use the shower and get a temperature that wasn't boiling point. The breakfast in my opinion ( I am british for context) was good, nice variety and decent quality for the most part, on the other hand my Brazilian partner felt otherwise. He said other hotels provide a way better experience with more variety and quality. The pool deck is underwhelming, sauna not working, pool very gross and unclean. The view is very nice though. Overall, for the price it's fine but I feel like if I would have paid slightly more I may have gotten something similar but I would have been in a more central location.

A basic 4 star hotel with old rooms and limited amenities. Well located with a great view from the rooftop bar. The standout for us was the staff who went above and beyond with helping our family when my husband became ill and needed to go into hospital.

We stayed at this hotel for 11 nights; it’s in a great location right on Copacabana Beach. The room (a corner room) also had a fantastic view. However, that’s the only positive thing about this hotel. The room smelled of toilet odors the entire time. The housekeeping staff tried to mask it with room spray, but the smell is constant and comes from the drains in the bathroom. It’s an imposition on every guest. The breakfast is okay, but nothing to write home about. The staff is indifferent—not at all friendly or accommodating. Overall, I wouldn’t choose this hotel again. The value for money isn’t good.

Nous y avons séjourné 13 nuits et rien à redire sur les prestations. Personnel très souriant et agréable jour et nuit. Petite mention spéciale pour l'équipe du petit déjeuner,surtout le monsieur responsable de la climatisation. Ne changez rien vous étes au top!!!! 👌 👍
