Authentic Thai Luxury Done Right After a string of disappointments elsewhere, The Surin was a breath of fresh air. It is the exact opposite of the "faded glory" resorts nearby; it feels alive, respected, and impeccably managed. The Vibe: Authentic, Not "Plastic" While many modern resorts in Phuket have opted for a "dry, modern plastic" look, The Surin stays true to its roots. It honors the traditional Thai bungalow style, and although it isn't a brand-new build, it is exceptionally well-maintained. You get the charm of classic architecture without the decay. Highlights: Nature & Amenities • The Beach: Absolutely stunning. We’re talking pristine waters and a location that feels exclusive and peaceful. • The Grounds: Everything from the landscaping to the common areas is top-tier. It actually feels like the luxury experience you’re paying for. • Value: It is worth every penny. You feel the quality in the service and the atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The Food: The Only Minor Letdown If there is one area for improvement, it’s the kitchen. The food wasn't "bad" by any means, but it felt "white-washed." The local Thai cuisine seemed stripped of its soul; missing that authentic, bold punch of flavor you expect from real Southern Thai cooking. It felt a bit too tailored for a Western palate, which is a shame given how authentic the rest of the resort feels. Final Verdict If you want a resort that respects its surroundings and offers a truly high-end, polished experience, stay here. Just maybe head out into town if you're craving a truly spicy, authentic green curry.

We stayed at The Surin from June 5 to June 8, and it was honestly one of the highlights of our whole trip to Phuket. The location is amazing. The beach here has some of the softest sand we’ve ever walked on, and waking up to that view every morning just set the best mood for the day. The service throughout the resort was top-notch. Everyone was friendly, professional, and well trained. A special shoutout to the breakfast supervisor—she was so attentive and responsible every single morning. Seeing her warm smile really made our day feel extra welcoming. We did run into a minor issue during check-out, but the team handled it so professionally and sorted it out right away, which actually left us with an even better impression. The property and facilities are also super well maintained. For what it offers, we think The Surin is easily one of the best values on the island. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip to Phuket, and couldn't recommend it enough if you're looking for a relaxing beach getaway.

Amazing resort. The views are breathtaking, the cottages well-equipped, and the service superb. We stayed for a few nights and really enjoyed our experience. It’s a “smaller” resort with only about 100 total cottages so it felt small and personal. The staff went out of their way to be personable and to remember our specific orders. The location cannot be beat. The beautiful beach is steps from the pool. The resort is located at the end of a long driveway, but the resort has golf carts that will take you to the end. There is a Top’s Market right next door to purchase anything you may need during your stay. I’d highly recommend this resort and will stay here on my next vacation in Phuket.

I honestly was looking forward to my stay at The Surin the most during my time in Thailand but was extremely let down. The best part about my experience was the spa. My masseuse Didi (sp?) provided one of the best 90 minute massages I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, outside of my check in experience with Care, that was the only highlight. I got in late and was excited to spend a relaxing day at the beach the next morning but when I arrived at 8 AM not only was I not greeted at all but there was also loud construction happening a few feet away which was disorienting and took away from the experience. So much so, that I ended up cutting my beach day short. I would’ve given this 4 stars however when I was leaving one of the staff members broke the handle on my suitcase and when I asked what happened? I was met with “🤷🏽‍♀️ it just happened,” followed by a taxi ride that they called that smelled like cigarette smoke the whole time. Although the hotel was beautiful and the breakfast buffet delicious the inconsistent service on the beach and the lack of apology for breaking my bag really left a lasting negative impression. I was already planning a trip back to Thailand with my boyfriend but unfortunately I think we’ll skip The Surin.

Good resort. Not great. What are the highlights… location and beach are exceptional. Staff for the most part is also outstanding and highly responsive. What was just ok? Villas are dated (but very clean). Breakfast selection and quality way below expectations. Compared to some other near by resorts - for relatively the same money - it’s not up to the same standard.

We stayed here for five nights and loved it! This is the best hotel in Phuket, possibly in Thailand. We enjoyed every single moment here. The cottages are clean, spacious and luxurious. The beach is quiet, clean and feels private. Breakfast is also really good. The staff is super friendly, helpful and they made us feel at home. We will definitely be back!
