Banana Fan Sea Resort

We mostly loved our time at the resort, and broadly it looks as it does in the photos. I'll get the good stuff out of the way first… It's an excellent location, with a very modern shopping complex opposite, including a convenience store (Tops) and live music. You also have the "Banana market", which is a more authentic Thai market full of trinkets, food, and accessories. The main shopping centre (Central) is about a 12-minute walk away, and there are plenty of great restaurants around. We particularly liked Tandoori Palace and The Hungry Wolf. The resort restaurant is excellent, and breakfast is varied and fresh. The pool is lovely, and the view of the beach is amazing. The only bad thing here was that the sea along Chaweng Beach was pretty "lively" in February, so we weren't tempted in. We took a couple of trips to Choeng Mon Beach, which had calmer seas, and we'd probably stay there in the future. The staff are wonderful and always say hello, going out of their way to be helpful. The resort is clean and generally peaceful. So the red flag for me—and it was quite a big one—was our room… I decided to go for the "superior room", which is larger than a standard room, but it was in just about the worst location I could imagine, and lacked any sort of holiday charm. The room was a decent size but pretty dark, overlooking the reception entrance, with a tiny balcony surrounded by wooden slats that reached above head height. This meant the balcony was a space fit only for drying clothes. I tried to upgrade the room, but of course, the rest of the resort was already fully booked. This meant we were stuck behind all the pretty jungle-like garden rooms in what felt like a concrete bunker. If I'd known this, I would have absolutely paid the extra money for a room in the middle of the resort, and I'd have been writing a 5-star review.

Fantastic hotel on a beautiful beach. Great rooms. Stand out is great staff who are helpful and friendly. The swim up bar is lovely. Twice a day happy hour is good. Food and the Thai buffet were great. Lovely touch was managers drinks reception early on evening. Cannot recommend the hotel, staff and facilities highly enough

Wir haben unseren zweiwöchigen Urlaub in diesem Resort verbracht und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Unser Bungalow war ausreichend groß, sauber und hatte alles, was man braucht: ein sehr bequemes großes Bett, moderne Klimaanlage, Safe, Föhn, Minibar inklusive 2x täglichem Trinkwasserservice. Das Badezimmer war modern eingerichtet mit einer sehr geräumigen Regendusche und gutem Wasserdruck. WLAN im ganzen Resort. Das gesamte Personal ist überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend und hat uns ein Gefühl von Geborgenheit gegeben. Der Check-in/Check-out-Ablauf war reibungslos und stressfrei. Das Frühstücksbuffet bot uns eine große Auswahl an internationalen sowie auch wechselnden thailändischen Speisen. Eierspeisen wurden auf Kundenwunsch auf acht verschiedenen Arten frisch zubereitet. Das Buffet war auch immer reichlich befüllt und die Qualität war gut. Auch die Poolbar, weswegen wir uns für dieses Hotel entschieden haben 😉, war super. Vielfalt an Getränken und ausgezeichnete Cocktails, 2x am Tag Happy Hour. Die Poollandschaft war architektonisch modern und schön anzusehen. Der Pool war sauber und das Wasser wurde regelmäßig kontrolliert. Angenehme Musik spielte im Hintergrund, was dem Ganzen einen gewissen Vibe gibt. Liegestühle und Schirme waren immer ausreichend an Pool und Strand verfügbar. Es gab jeden Abend neue Badetücher aufs Zimmer für den nächsten Tag. Massagen werden direkt neben dem Hotel am Strand angeboten. Die Gartenanlage war wie aus einem Bilderbuch, stets gepflegt von den braven Gärtnern und immer ein Genuss durchzugehen. Was unseren Urlaub noch perfekt gemacht hat und wir somit ein wenig Abwechslung hatten, waren die vom Hotel angebotenen kostenlosen Aktivitäten wie: kleine Kochkurse, Fahrt in den Norden zum Sonnenuntergang schauen & Fotos machen + Marktbesichtigung und Handtuchfaltkurs, der vermutlich für Kinder ist, aber auch wir Erwachsenen hatten mega viel Spaß mit dem ganz lieben Housekeeping-Team. 2x die Woche gab es ein Spezialbuffet am Strand, das wir auch sehr empfehlen können: BBQ-Night & Thai-Night. Der Transferservice war verlässlich und in einem sehr modern ausgestatteten Van. Parkplätze, klimatisierter Fitnessraum sowie Konferenzraum sind vorhanden. Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Dieses Resort können wir absolut weiterempfehlen. Sollten wir noch einmal nach Koh Samui kommen, würden wir uns ganz bestimmt wieder für dieses Hotel entscheiden. Ein ganz großes Dankeschön an das gesamte Personal, das sich stets Mühe gibt und einen großartigen Job macht. Besonders die kleinen guten Taten im Alltag: Die freundlichen Begrüßungen, die schnelle Hilfe bei Fragen und die aufmerksame Betreuung ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Man merkt, dass hier nicht einfach nur gearbeitet wird, sondern dass Gastfreundschaft gelebt wird.

Decent 4-star beachfront resort on a clean stretch of Chaweng Beach with excellent service. Food is fine, drinks are delicious (especially at the bar), and rooms are quite spacious and comfortable — though the wardrobe is surprisingly small.The beach is well-maintained, and staff are friendly and attentive overall. We enjoyed our stay, but the hotel was packed with Israeli guests who were often very loud, rude to staff and other guests, and played football everywhere (even in quiet areas), making it hard to relax peacefully.Great spot if you're okay with a lively (sometimes rowdy) crowd — otherwise, it might not suit those seeking a calm vibe

Absolutely amazing, Resort staff were incredible, friendly helpful and caring. The rooms and toiletries were 5 star plus always cleaned to perfection. Breakfast was delicious nothing was to much trouble for the beautiful staff. Great restaurant I highly recommend this resort. We will definitely go back.
