A dream location on a beautiful island in Thailand. The rooms are comfortable, the facilities are excellent, and the entire property is peaceful, well-maintained, and professionally managed. That said, something is missing to elevate this resort from very good to truly exceptional. It lacks the extra touch—the memorable "wow factor" that distinguishes the world's finest luxury resorts. Everything is pleasant and of high quality, but there is little that feels genuinely unique or unforgettable. One aspect I personally found frustrating is the pricing transparency. This is clearly a premium resort, and there is nothing wrong with charging premium prices. However, instead of advertising rates and then adding a 10% service charge plus VAT, I would prefer the resort to be more upfront about the true cost. Luxury should feel effortless, and unexpected additions to the bill detract from that experience. In the world of resorts it's definitely 5-Star, in the world of 5-Star resorts it's more 4-Star.

Meine Ehefrau und ich durften 10 wundervolle Tage in diesem außergewöhnlichen Hotel verbringen – und wir sind rundum begeistert! Vom ersten Moment an haben wir uns herzlich willkommen und bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und stets professionell, ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Das Hotel selbst überzeugt mit einer perfekten Kombination aus Komfort, Stil und Liebe zum Detail. Die Zimmer sind geschmackvoll eingerichtet, sehr sauber und bieten alles, was man für einen erholsamen Aufenthalt braucht. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die ruhige und entspannte Atmosphäre, die den Alltag sofort vergessen lässt. Auch kulinarisch wurden wir auf höchstem Niveau verwöhnt – abwechslungsreich, frisch und einfach köstlich! Für uns war dieser Aufenthalt einfach perfekt. Wir können dieses Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen. Buchen Sie Ihren Urlaub hier und erleben Sie selbst, wie erholsam und besonders eine Auszeit sein kann!

Sawasdee kaa! Hier ist wieder euer Viperz Unser Aufenthalt im Pimalai Resort & Spa auf Koh Lanta war einfach traumhaft. Wir sind mit sehr hohen Erwartungen angereist – und diese wurden sogar noch übertroffen. Das Resort ist der perfekte Ort, um komplett zu entspannen und abzuschalten. Die gesamte Anlage strahlt Ruhe, Luxus und Wohlbefinden aus. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das Servicepersonal: Die Freundlichkeit und Herzlichkeit der Mitarbeitenden ist wirklich überdurchschnittlich und macht den Aufenthalt noch spezieller. Unser Zimmer war makellos sauber und in perfektem Zustand. Obwohl das Hotel bereits seit einigen Jahren besteht, merkt man absolut nicht, dass es „in die Jahre gekommen“ ist. Im Gegenteil: Alles ist auf einem sehr modernen und aktuellen Stand – moderner Fernseher, hochwertige Möbel und eine allgemein sehr gepflegte, stilvolle Einrichtung. Hier stimmt einfach jedes Detail. Besonders schön ist, dass unsere Erfahrungen sich auch mit den vielen anderen hervorragenden Bewertungen decken: Die außergewöhnliche Sauberkeit, der exzellente Service und die entspannte Atmosphäre werden von vielen Gästen immer wieder gelobt. Wir würden diesem Hotel sogar noch mehr Sterne geben, wenn es möglich wäre. Eine absolute Empfehlung – wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Where to begin with the Pimalai? This is comprehensively the best hotel experience I have ever had. We stayed for 5 nights in Koh Lanta as part of our honeymoon trip and the setting could not have been more perfect. From the moment the transfer collects you and whisks you onto the beach arrival by private boat you have the feeling that this hotel is so self-assured in the excellence it serves. We knew we were in safe hands. Every detail has been covered, and thought through for your comfort and convenience. The room TV even carried a channel for PL Football and 6Nations Rugby! Having made good use of the facilities, spa, restaurants, drinks menus, scuba desk, excursions and concierge; the team were endlessly helpful to ensure it was a perfect stay. A special word must go to the staff who were all so friendly and welcoming. They are obviously very proud of the island and the beautiful national park forest that the hotel backs onto, and do their best to reverently share it with you. The hotel’s design ethos really blends into the islands beauty and heritage for traditional crafts using local materials and inspiration. A heartfelt 10/10

Our stay at Pimalai Resort & Spa was an absolute dream from start to finish. It is easily one of the most stunning and special places we have ever visited. The resort is breathtakingly beautiful. The seamless blend of sophisticated design and the surrounding wild nature creates a true sense of peace. The landscaping is simply stunning—everything is lush and meticulously maintained to the highest standard. The staff's hospitality was exceptional. Throughout our entire stay, we felt genuinely cared for; the team was always attentive, smiling, and eager to help with any request with warmth and professionalism. A truly flawless culinary experience. The food was simply excellent, fresh, rich, and carefully prepared for every single meal. Pimalai is the ultimate choice for anyone looking for a rare combination of luxury, pristine nature, and top-tier service. We are already looking forward to coming back!

Much has been said about the hotel’s aesthetics so I’d like the comment on the service recovery of the F&B team. Despite having an incident with my first meal, the team followed up not just with an earnest remedy but graciously checked in with me during the remainder of my stay. Particularly, P’Mai was very friendly and sincere in her demeanour, and I appreciated the gift she had prepared for me on my last day. Overall, it was a sincere and all-rounded service recovery effort delivered by staff who genuinely care about their guests. The only reason I docked a star is for the resort’s relative lack of accessibility to dining and entertainment options outside its grounds, with the closest village being a 10-15 min walk. More day/group trip options to other interesting Koh Lanta landmarks might also help to expand its offering (though it should be acknowledged that some guests might be happy to enjoy amenities/activities within the hotel). All in all, this was a wonderful property to stay in and I’d gladly return/recommend it to others visiting Koh Lanta.
