I was very disappointed with my stay here and would not recommend this hotel. There are both good and bad points. Good points: * Great breakfast * Fantastically comfy beds * Great location Bad points: The sunbed situation is very poor. Guests begin queuing from around 9am for a limited number of loungers. This often leads to pushing in the queue and a stressful atmosphere. The pool area is also between buildings and does not get much direct sun on the whole area, so this is something to consider if you are booking for a sunny pool holiday. The pool area also does not consistently open at 10am, and on several days it opened later without clear explanation. Regarding check-in, I requested early check-in in advance and was told I would be prioritised if a room became available. However, on arrival we were told we had to wait until 2pm, while other guests arriving after us were checked in earlier. The manager was present during this and did not offer any assistance. When we entered our room, the floor was not properly cleaned and the air conditioning was not working. A maintenance engineer did attend and repair the air conditioning. I also reported that our balcony door would not lock, but was told this was not an issue. The receptionist at check-in was however friendly and polite. I spent a long time choosing the right holiday for myself and my mother, and unfortunately this hotel did not meet expectations. While there are some positive aspects, I would not return.

Das Hotel liegt nahe am Strand und am Anfang der Playa. Hier ist es noch nicht so touristisch. Die Zimmer sind schön mit Blick auf das Meer der Service freundlich. Poolbereich großzügig und sauber. Frühstücksbuffet mit großer Auswahl, allerdings ist es eine sehr laute Halle. Keine hoteleigenen Parkplätze, man muss freie Parkplätze suchen oder ins Parkhaus für 25 Euro pro Tag. Safe kostet 3 Euro pro Tag und Badehandtücher können nur alle 3 Tage kostenfrei getauscht werden. Die letzten beiden Punkte sollten in einem 4 Sterne Hotel inklusive sein.

Primera vez en Fuengirola, y mejor imposible. El hotel está muy bien ubicado, tiene una vista increíble al mar y el servicio es excelente, sobretodo en recepción. Te atienden siempre con una sonrisa! Gracias Lucía por tu amabilidad y hospitalidad!

Un cuatro estrellas en frente del paseo marítimo. Habitación y vistas laterales al mar. Bien. Desayunos y cenas bien. Instalaciones bien. Limpieza en habitaciones deficiente. Seguridad en las instalaciones no hay. Te puedes colar por donde quieras. Sobre todo a la piscina. Normativas no sé cumplen. Hinchables en la piscina. Cada uno se baña como quiere. Vestido incluso. Al parecer tienen "manga ancha" según conveniencias. Se juega a la pelota con raquetas. No sé vigila el comportamiento incivico. Niño correteando y tirando cosas por el restaurante. Nadie les dice nada. No vamos a culpar al hotel de la falta de educación y de respeto. Ahí no llegamos.

FABULOUS! A wonderful stay from start to finish, the hotel is very clean, modern, spacious and in a great location! We were warmly greeted by the reception staff on arrival, they explained everything clearly and always had a smile on their face. The room was a very good size with a modern interior, the bed was HUGE and the balcony overlooking the sea was lovely (side sea view room). The breakfast buffet was spot on, great selection and a large dining facility providing indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area is a lovely space with a bar and staff on demand taking orders and delivering food/drinks. The pools themselves were great, the bigger pool is huge and never overcrowded, there is small pool which is a nice touch and another pool bar serving food and drinks. The hotel is right on the beach front and a short walk into the centre of Fuengirola town. The hotel staff delivered bottles of cold water to our room in an evening and also brough a birthday cake and bottle of fizz as it was my partners birthday. We were not expecting this so was very kind of them. A special mention to Lucia, who is the manager, she was very kind and helpful during our stay. Also to Maria, who was the young lady who checked us in on arrival. She was very polite and helpful, both a credit to the business. Thank you Occidental Fuengirola!

WONDERFUL STAY at Occidental Fuengirola We love staying at Occidental Fuengirola, right on the beach (across the road) and with a large swimming pool. Being able to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner outside is especially important to us, and they deliver on that there! But we also particularly appreciate the good personal service. At the reception, Gabriel ensures perfect service throughout the stay, and Millie provides a very smooth personal and cheerful touch aimed at satisfied guests. The Guest Experience Manager is present daily and very approachable. He properly ensures an optimal customer experience. Bravo!!
