Alex Alex3/5 · 2026-09Mixed feelings after our Labour Day weekend stay. There is a lot to like about the Hilton Whistler. The location is excellent, the amenities are very good, and our room was spacious and comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchenette. Strangely, there were no pots or saucepans, which made the kitchenette somewhat less useful, but that was hardly a major problem. More concerning was finding several empty vodka bottles left inside one of the kitchen cabinets. We reported this to the front desk. It certainly makes you wonder how thoroughly the room was inspected between guests. Parking is another frustration. It costs $37 per night, yet signage in the garage prominently states that the owner and management assume no liability for loss or damage. Most of the readily available spaces also seemed designed for small vehicles, while many regular-sized spaces were reserved or difficult to find. Charging nearly $40 a night for parking while simultaneously reminding guests that the security of their vehicle is entirely their problem is not particularly reassuring. Check-in brought another unexpected inconvenience. The security deposit required a physical credit card. I normally carry only my phone and use Apple Pay, so I had to use my partner’s card, which was not what we intended. When I asked what would happen if neither of us had a physical card, I was told they would “find a way.” If there is another way, perhaps it should simply be available without putting guests through the inconvenience first. But the detail that left the worst impression was, remarkably, bottled water. Two bottles were left in the room with a large Hilton Honors tag stating that Diamond, Gold and Silver members receive them free, while “All Other Guests” are charged $3.50 per bottle. I understand loyalty programs. I understand providing upgraded rooms, breakfast, lounge access or other perks to frequent guests. But making complimentary drinking water a status benefit at a hotel in this price category feels embarrassingly cheap. It is not about the $3.50. A bottle of water is hardly going to ruin anyone’s vacation. It is the principle, and especially the way it is presented. There is something distinctly unwelcoming about putting two bottles of water in front of a guest and attaching a sign that essentially says, “free for them, $3.50 for you.” Hospitality should make people feel welcome. There must surely be better ways of recognizing loyal Hilton guests than creating a miniature class system around two bottles of water. Finally, at checkout, the same front desk employee who had checked us in asked how our stay had been. I answered, “Mixed feelings.” I would have thought that was a fairly obvious invitation to ask what had gone wrong. Instead, there was no follow-up question, no “I’m sorry to hear that,” not even the usual courtesy response. The conversation simply ended. Oddly enough, that probably summed up the experience better than anything else. Whistler itself was beautiful as always, and the Hilton has genuinely strong qualities. The spacious room, location and amenities were all very good. But a collection of small, avoidable issues, particularly housekeeping and the rather nickel-and-dime approach to hospitality, kept what could have been an excellent stay from feeling like one.
Emily Swanson4/5 · 2025-12Overall would stay here again. Location is truly unbeatable for access to whistler gondola and shopping/restaurants. We loved being able to bring our pup. Unclear if there was a designated pet relief area but evening shift staff were not able to point us to one. Loved the warm pool/hottub/sauna to fully relax. We appreciated the room upgrade and flexibility with our request for a later checkout. Breakfast buffet was disappointing, expected a little more from the Hilton and for the prices. We were hoping for elevated hot food and more protein options, as most guests are there to ski/snowboard.
Flying With Me5/5 · 2026-07My girlfriend and I met and spent our first night at the Hilton 15 years ago. We’ve tried every year to come up on this day to celebrate our anniversary. Obviously Covid we didn’t come up or last year as I had back surgery. This year we had a warm welcome of the usual wonderful ladies at the front desk have been there for 19 and more years. Just wonderful wonderful customer service thank you ladies for treating Us so well. Enjoy the day sitting by the pool until they brought s’mores out to have over the The fire. Beds and pillows are so comfortable and always love the deep soaker tub. Today we celebrate 15 years together as husband and wife now. Thank you from Shaun and Lisa.
Mido Hamzawi4/5 · 2026-06Really solid stay overall. The hotel is large, very clean, and well maintained, and it feels modern rather than dated, which made the stay more comfortable. Rooms were updated, tidy, and everything felt in good condition. The location is excellent—super convenient for accessing Whistler Village as well as the base of the main gondolas. There’s also food options just around the corner from the South Tower back entrance, which made quick meals really easy. Facilities are a big plus here as well, with a pool, patio area, coffee shop, and restaurant on site. The views from the property are also a nice bonus. The only real downside is parking, which is quite expensive at $37 per night. It’s definitely something to factor in when booking. Overall though, a very good, comfortable, and convenient resort stay in Whistler.
R Lee5/5 · 2026-05We went to Cinnamon Bear at the Hilton Whistler Resort and Spa for a quick bite on May 21 around 2pm before rushing to the Squamish Adventure Center to have our Tourism Challenge fun. Our car pulled over the front entrance and Mark kindly came to assist us to get the parking ticket from the front desk. When he saw my mom getting out of the car to reach for her walker, Mark offered us complimentary valet parking service so that my mom could get back into the car conveniently at the door. My sister was going to show a gesture of gratitude for his service but missed him at the door before we left. We had to get going. Sorry Mark. We really appreciate your kindness and professionalism. Thank you so much! See you again in Whistler. We enjoyed the Pemby Burger, chicken wings, Birria tacos and sweet potato fries at Cinnamon Bear. Great food and service. Love to come back again! We're from Vancouver.
Krista Ferguson1/5 · 2026-05The new decor and overall environment at the Hilton Cinnamon Bear Lounge in Whistler are wonderful. The space feels refreshed and inviting, and the pool tables were a great bonus — free to use and very clean. The only disappointment was that we ordered two glasses of wine during happy hour but were not given the happy hour special. It ended up being about an $8 difference, which is not a huge amount, but it’s the principle. A bit more attention to the advertised specials would make the experience feel more polished. Overall, a lovely space with a great atmosphere, but the billing detail was disappointing.
