Hotel The One Resort Watamu

First of this place is extremely far from everything in Watamu. You have to spend close to 1000 to 1500 on fare on Tuktuks or bikes to get around daily unless you want to simply stay in the hotel. The beach is not a place you can swim ( though its accessible). Food is so average, no much options and 100 percent always Either cold or Meat (beef) tastes spoiled. Also they simply aren't organized. One morning they even presented left over beans stew from previous night and labeled it "baked beans" On my last day I was among the last guests to go for breakfast, food was over. I had to request for beans, potatoes, vegetables, and when they came? Everything was poorly prepared due to the rush. Didn't they know how many guests they would have that morning? Thirdly,as a solo female traveller I didn't feel safe 😕, one of the old male dining area staff kept staring at me weirdly and lastly approached me and grinningly asked" are you really sure you enjoying your holiday alone 🤨?" That's extremely unprofessional and creepy! Another's male staff also kept bothering me asking to take me on tours. Please it's unfair to be bothered by beach boys and also be bothered by your male staff! Don't even dare ask for SPA services. Their spa is NOT operational, they just called some random woman in the village to come do a massage on me, she was untidy, smelled sweaty and did absolutely nothing close to what I would expect for the money I paid , using some stupid cheap massage oil and baby oil 🤔. The spa itself was super dust and seemed I was the first one there for months! The swimming 🏊‍♀️ pools are both VERY salty.. This is a 2 star facility and nothing close to a 4 star.

This place is the worse resort I’ve ever stayed in. We traveled 12 hours to reach this resort arriving at 5:00 pm rooms were so dirty they had to reclean it. Then to add insult to injury there was no running water in the room it also smelled bad. There was no telephone in the room to contact the front desk. My advice do not book this resort you will be highly disappointed.

The one watamu is a good space physically but the directors and management can do better especially when it comes to partnerships and service towards clients and business partners. I thought it was a trusted establishment but 👎.

The doors in my room all require a lot of force and multiple attempts to properly close or lock. Could these be fixed, please? Also, I understand that the staff need to clean the room, but could they please check what's inside the containers or baskets before clearing them? Some items are clearly not trash, but they still get thrown away. They might not realize how sad a guest would feel to find that the seashells they collected have been tossed out.

Large resort although it was thankfully quiet. Beautoful sea views but not a swimming beach. Great service.

10/10 minus nothing!! The rooms are very spacious, the hotel is beautiful, has a private beach, very secure and has A/C. Very accessible and their food is great. The staff is very polite, the wimming pools are clean. I absolutely loved my stay. Would definitely recommend.
