I stayed at this hotel expecting 4-star standards based on the price and the pictures on the booking site. Unfortunately, the reality is shocking. The hotel is very dirty, old, and poorly maintained. The walls are cracked, the furniture is stained and worn out, and many items (especially sofas in the bar area) look like they should have been replaced years ago. Everything feels outdated and neglected. I personally spoke with the lady responsible for hotel management and raised these issues. She told me she was “happy” with the current condition. When I pointed out the damaged sofa, she said it was “ok”. When I mentioned the unsecured electrical cables near the children’s playground, she replied that they are in the “garden” and guests are not allowed there — even though the area is easily accessible and dangerous for children. This level of denial from management is very concerning. I have stayed in much better 3-star hotels. This property does not deserve more than 2 stars in its current state. I strongly do not recommend this hotel. Save your money and book somewhere else. Thank you for your reply, but I must say it is highly disappointing and does not address the real issues. It is not “contradictory” to criticise the poor condition of the hotel while maintenance work is being done — the problem is that the hotel is in such a bad state that constant repairs are necessary, yet nothing seems to improve. The hotel looks and feels like an ongoing construction site, not a 4-star property. Regarding the sofa: when I was there it was dirty and damaged. Claiming it was “already replaced” is simply not true based on what I saw and photographed. The same goes for the exposed electrical cables next to the children’s area — telling guests “you are not allowed there” or “watch your children” is not a serious answer. It is dangerous and unacceptable. The pool area is dirty, with cracked tiles and standing water. The pool table is taped off. The chairs have visibly dirty and stained cushions. Even the cups and mugs in the rooms are old and chipped. These are not minor issues — this is a general lack of maintenance and care. Your attempt to defend the hotel and suggest that most guests are satisfied does not change the reality I experienced and documented with photos. This hotel is not operating at 4-star level. In my opinion, it barely reaches 2 stars in its current condition. I stand by every word in my review and I will not change it. I expected much better for the price I paid, especially after seeing the promotional photos on the booking site.

Horrible,no se merece ni 2 estrellas. Hay cucarachas en el buffet,en la habitación y en el bar de la piscina. Cuando entramos a la habitación olía fatal. Olía como a húmedo y fumado. Solo fuimos a la piscina el primer día porque el de la limpieza comía una como fregona por así decirlo y tiraba todo lo que había fuera de la piscina (agua sucia) y lo tiraba dentro de la piscina. Los demás días estuvimos en la playa que muy cerca tampoco es que esté.Ojo con el todo incluido porque el todo incluido debería de incluir todo (o la mayoría de las cosas) pero en el todo incluido de bebidas solo había agua acuarios Coca-Cola Fanta y poco más. Para colmo solo habían 3 helados gratis en el todo incluido (eran helados como yogures y de 3 sabores) por lo menos estaban buenos. El buffet tenia muy poca comida para ser de “4” estrellas. Los platos estaban sucios,rotos y los vasos también. El zumo que sale de la máquina es una no era zumo. Salía con espuma. Sería muchísimo más fácil si ponen pulseras en vez de tarjetas. En la comida y cena por lo menos la bebida no la dan de maquina pero en el desayuno la bebida la tienes que coger de máquina (o sea que prefiero no beber antes que beber). La piscina es enana para un hotel de 4 estrellas (si se le puede llamar de 4). Nos fuimos para 10 días y aguantar amos 4. Nos fuimos a quejar a recepción y al final nos cambiaron de hotel. La como jefa nos dijo que en la zona que estábamos el hotel la siesta era el “ mejor” pero cuando nos cambiaron de hotel había mucha diferencia. Le pongo una estrella porque no se puede poner 0. No recomiendo en absoluto este hotel.

We recently stayed at the Alexandre Hotel La Siesta on a half-board basis. While the room was reasonably clean and the cleaners themselves were very nice, the room decor is very out dated. Furthermore, some of the other staff members were unhelpful and lacked a welcoming attitude. *Reply from post below* Hi Elise, Thank you for your response, though it is disappointing to see management attempt to deflect serious hygiene and service issues by focusing on a dispute over a bottle of water. To address a few points raised: The Cockroach Issue: To imply that our concerns are unfounded or made up is insulting. My husband actually had to kill cockroaches himself during our stay, and our children witnessed it too. Seeing them on the floor and directly on top of the food counters on multiple occasions is a severe hygiene failure that future guests have a right to know about. Reporting During the Stay: Guests do not always log formal complaints at reception for every single issue while trying to enjoy a holiday—especially when basic things like filthy, lipstick-stained water glasses at breakfast already set a very poor standard for cleanliness from day one. The Water Policy & Lack of Communication: There was no sign anywhere in the dining area stating that outside water was not permitted, and we were never informed about this rule when we checked in. Trying to spring this unannounced rule on guests and frame a blanket ban as "standard" does not make it reasonable. Restricting plain water in this way feels unnecessarily unaccommodating compared to other hotels we have stayed in. Multiple Family Reviews: It is completely natural that members of the same family sharing the exact same holiday experience would independently choose to warn others about what they went through. Staff and Facilities: While we appreciated the hard work of the room cleaners, the overall decor is tired, the indoor play area is run-down, and several other staff members lacked a helpful attitude. Dismissing valid health, cleanliness, and service feedback as mere "dissatisfaction arising from hotel policy" does not excuse the conditions we experienced. We stand by our review and will not be returning.

bar staff kind, helpful and very friendly during our stay. reception staff were able to help due to a miss-communication with rooms and were able to move us rooms without hassle. plenty of sun loungers by the pool and is always kept clean and tidy. cleaners in room everyday with fresh towels and beds made up. entertainment on during the day at the pool and evening entertainment too. perfect location in las americas with golden mile etc in walking distance.

We are just home from a fabulous holiday in la siesta. No complaints at all. Fabulous place and great food and entertainment. Perfect location for shops and beach walks. Rooms are clean and spacious. My only gripe is tea bags. Definitely bring your own. We will definitely be back

We have been to Playa De Las Americas many times, but this was our first time to Alexandre Hotel La Siesta and we have had the best time! Rooms: Plenty of room for 2 adults & 2 children, kept lovely and clean and we loved how the cleaning staff were arranging our children's teddy's on their beds differently each day. There is shampoo & shower gel in the bathroom and a hairdryer which was actually pretty good. The balcony was safe and a really good size, with a rail to hang out any clothes or swimwear to dry, but don't make the mistake we did and hang anything on the balcony rail as my sons Bluey Swimwear top blew down two floors - although reception were great and had a cleaner go in and get it back for us. Food: We were actually really happy with the food, lots of choice and it was all well cooked and very tasty. One of the better hotels we have been to food wise. If you are half board which is usually breakfast & dinner, but you decide to eat out some nights you can have lunch instead. You do not have to let anyone know as they scan your room card once your sat down. Pools: Three different pools so plenty of choice, but we mostly used the children's pool as we have two young children and the water was really warm especially by the afternoon (In June), it was like being in a warm bath. The pool areas are kept very clean, and there are plenty of sunbeds. It did get busy around the childs pool area for sunbeds due to parents wanting to be able to watch their children, but we were not rushing down at 7am to get a spot, mostly we were lucky to be down before 10am some days but there were spare sun loungers stacked up that you could use. Entertainment: There is a kids mini disco between 9pm-9.30pm which our kids loved, and then there is different entertainment outside following that which were all very good. There are TV screens in the bar area which has been showing the World cup matches whilst we have been here. Good choice of drinks in the bar area, and plenty of seating. Location: We really liked the location of this hotel, about a 10 minute walk to the fountain and shopping areas, similar distance to the beach front which has lots of nice restaurants shops and bars, and approx 15 minute walk to Veronicas strip where the night life is. Lots of places to buy toys, and pool inflatables nearby but there is a big box near to the children's pool where any toys left in the pool are put so check in there before buying any. If you forget or run out of suncream/nappies etc then all the supermarkets nearby have them but they are not as cheap as buying back home. There are also photographers around the pool area, and you can ask them to take family photos on your way to dinner too - they are not pushy at all and if you say no they move on immediately but they do capture some really lovely photos.
