We spent 5 nights in this small chic hotel located in the heart of Barcelona, only a few steps away from the Cathedral of Barcelona and right at the border between the gothic quarter and El Born. Everything about this hotel and its staff was fantastic. The room was beautifully designed, with a bunch of natural sunlight flowing through the windows. We were able to sleep really well on the mattress, which had a nice firmness to it, and there was a nice selection of pillows to choose from. I definitely recommend starting the day with breakfast here, as the warm dishes are prepared a la carte and there is a good cold buffet available. The coffee was also a highlight! What blew us away and will make us choose this hotel again was the staff. Starting with a warm welcome by the reception staff, continuing with the nice room-cleaning service and ending with the fantastic restaurant and bar personnel! Everybody was so warm, polite and friendly, always ready to help and greeting you with a big beautiful smile. It's true that people make the place. Please remain just like that, we will love to come again!

I don’t even know where to begin with my experience at this hotel. We stayed 1 night pre cruise and a further 2 nights after the cruise. I knew after my experience the first night this hotel was badly let down by some staff. On the rooftop bar, late afternoon, I had been looking to try and make eye contact with the waitress to no avail for quite a while. She seemed to either be run off her feet or have no interest in us. In the end I said excuse me, could we get the bill please. She came over the card reader and told me I was disrespectful calling over to her. I said to her how else do I get your attention? You haven’t looked or came near us. To which she replied you are disrespectful in a tone like a mother scolding a child. I was shocked and have never ever been spoken to before like this before and certainly not in front of other people. Left a sour taste in my mouth but I reluctantly came back after cruise which I knew would be a disaster. First night drinks on rooftop bar with friends again. Bill came, couldn’t see it as was dark. Took receipt and checked it the following morning. Surprise surprise an additional drink stuck on the bottom. We had all been drinking wine and a martini appeared – the same drink a guy who was hanging round the bar talking to same waitress who called me disrespectful, was drinking. I told reception I had been charged for a drink that wasn’t mine. The lady said my manager isn’t in until Monday and took my email address. Have heard absolutely nothing which I guessed would happen. Asked for an alarm call for the next morning @ 6.15am to go to airport. …. Nothing. Room was very nice, nice shower room and comfortable bed but the room smelt fusty. My husbands sunglasses disappeared from the room. Breakfast lovely and the dining room really beautiful as is the rooftop area pool and views. But unfortunately some staff have serious attitude problem and forget who the paying customer is. They make you feel they are doing you a favour. Reception staff are incompetent and have delusions of grandeur, specifically the females. The receptionist when we checked out on final morning and the night porter where nice as was the lady on breakfast and lunch and Garon was a star. Taxi booked to airport through hotel ripped us off. Fare was £36 euros and he hit another button to take it up to over 50 euros. He didn’t get of the car to help us with bags. Just sat there at airport. We paid £36 euros from airport to hotel when we first arrived. This is not 5 star service and at over 400 euros per night, it’s actually quite shocking and a disgrace to be part of the H10 group.

Great hotel in Gothic Quarter. Everthing is within a 15 min. walk. Food (LOTS), shopping to beat the band and entertainment nearby. The staff was very accomodating. The hotel bill was eye-watering but it is Summer and they delivered a good experience.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. Overall, the service was good, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the facilities were well maintained. There are just a few areas that could be improved. It would be great if the carpets in the rooms could be deep-cleaned more regularly, as this would help keep the rooms even fresher and cleaner. The sink in our room also drained quite slowly, so it may be worth checking whether the drainage needs cleaning or improvement. It would also be very useful to have more charging sockets in the room, including fast-charging USB ports and different types of international plugs. The existing charging sockets were quite slow, so it took a long time to fully charge our devices. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to recommend the hotel. These small improvements would make the experience even better for future guests.

Incroyable séjour au H10 Madison. Situé à quelques pas de la cathédrale de Barcelone. Les chambres sont superbes, n’hésitez pas à prendre une chambre avec vue sur la cathédrale. La terrasse est incroyable avec une belle piscine, cocktails, tapas… parfait pour finir la journée. Le petit déjeuner est aussi à faire, cava, buffet, plat chaud au choix. Cava, limonade, eau sont disponibles toute la journée dans l’entrée de l’hôtel. Un hôtel parfait proche de tout, nous avons hâte d’y retourner.

Apart from the great location, comfortable beds and champagne in reception all day long. The absolute best thing about this hotel is the staff. I had so many conversations with them about restaurants, public transport, Spanish words … ever single one of them were polite and super helpful. All of them. Then we I returned home i discovered I had left my watch in the room. The staff went out if their way to help me arrange for the watch to be couriered back home. Don’t think twice. If you have the budget. Stay here.
