Hotel Cordial Mogan Playa

This is a lovely hotel and is well maintained. The rooms are pleasant but a little dated. They have plenty of space available. We stayed 10 nights on half-board plus. We would stay again but probably on bed & breakfast. The dinner option is a buffet and its very busy. You also have to choose a 5:45 or 7:45 sitting and are allocated a table for your stay. The conditions of HB+ are not very clear - you get house wine, soft drinks or beer included with the evening meal. However, we found (on the last night) that we got a discount off a nice wine from the drinks menu. The house wines were very young and not great - not recommended. However, the white and rose cava options were pleasant. Not sure whether the aircon was switched off but could not see how to activate in our room. It would have been great to have it in the gym. This may sound quite negative but I am trying to help others who stay. The 2 pools are lovely, clean and in nice garden settings. Lovely spacious foyer / reception / bar.

Really lovely hotel. The interior communal areas are great, they have forest and caves as the decor which my child loved. There's some stepping stones that my daughter loved too. Rooms are slightly dated like others say. There's sometimes the smell of sewage from the toilets in the rooms too which isn't great. Rooms are big (3 of us in there) and bathroom is a good size. Shower gel/shampoo bottle provided. Clean towels and room cleaned on request (you have to hang the door tab on to say you want your room cleaned). Also change the bed on request if you put the label on. There's a safety deposit box which you have to pay for which is a bit odd. Restaurant is nice, we only ate in the main buffet one and it's what you would expect. You get allocated a table for the evening meal and use that one each time. They have a really daft rule where men have to wear trousers in the restaurant on the evening and they are very very strict on this. It's so daft as it's a buffet restaurant and not exactly a really posh restaurant, and some of the trousers worn were far scruffier than Chino shorts. No flip flops allowed on an evening. They also watch you like a hawk, making sure you don't take any food from the restaurant, we did a tiny sandwich once and a woman walked over and smacked a warning poster down on our table and was so rude to us. The reason we did this was because the food at the pool bar for lunch (which is the only option) was huge, e.g. you had to order a whole pizza for lunch, no sandwiches or lighter meals were available, you couldn't get a snack, this needs improving quickly. There is plenty for children to do, there's arcades, bowling (although this was closed whilst we were there), tennis - which gets booked up quickly, table tennis, giant chess board and the swimming pools. The top pool is considered more of an adult pool so no inflatables allowed. The bottom pool is more for kids and inflatables are allowed. The pools were heated which was a bonus. Plenty of sunbeds but we did go in April. Towels are provided and can be changed daily from 10-12. The mini disco and entertainment was great. Loads of activities going on in the day too. Alejando (one of the crew) is a legend, he made all of us laugh so much and he's great with children. You can do a walk up the hills from the hotel too. They do need to improve some things like adding soap into the public toilets, it ran out a lot and was really annoying. Also the quickness of the check in time needs addressing. The location is fabulous, just a short walk into playa mogan and it's lovely there. There's a massive market every Friday right outside the hotel all the way to the harbour. Beach is great too, shallow water and is calm. Transfer time is short too from airport.

Cordial is a really nice hotel situated in a lovely town of Playa de Mogan. The entire complex is designed with a lot of love, attention and respect towards the surroundings. Architecture of buildings seems like an extension of nature and authentic spanish colonial housing. You can see how much attention they paid to details while designing it. You never get the feeling of crowdedness since it spans over 48000 m² with more than 10000 m² of botanical gardens. In each atrium there is a garden, often with a beautiful fountian or small pond. It's a real wonder exploring the place. There are two big pools, exceptionally clean, with lifeguards constantly monitoring and patrolling. Except for that, there are multiple sports courts, bowling alley, table tennis, garden chess and gaming room. If interested, there is a direct entrance to the archeological park situated behind the hotel. It offers a unique presentation of Indigenous peoples' lives. The food is excellent and the variety is extraordinary. Both for breakfast and for dinner. There is a separate michelin star restaurant in the complex if you want to eat a la carte. You can reach local beach by foot in 5-10 minutes, without any effort. Staff is very professional, polite and helpful and I've never seen them stressed or nervous. I would be thrilled to visit the place again.

Das Hotel hat eine tolle Lage zwischen den Bergen. Die Anlage ist riesig (42.000m2) und kann etwas überfordernd wirken; deshalb ist die spannende Hotel-Tour sehr zu empfehlen (so kriegt man auch mal einen Blick hinter die Kulissen 😉). Das Frühstück wie auch das Abendessen waren abwechslungsreich, lokal und einfach sehr lecker. Die Anlage ist übersät mit tropischen Pflanzen, künstlichen Wasserfällen und Natur pur. Alles künstlich in der kargen Umgebung angelegt. Dadurch entsteht ein sehr angenehmes Klima - das große, runde Hauptgebäude fungiert so auch als riesiges Gewächshaus. Die zwei Poolanlagen bieten sowohl etwas für Familien als auch den entspannten Urlaub zu zweit oder allein. Die Anlage liegt nicht in direkter Strandnähe, der Strand kann aber fußläufig in 15Min erreicht werden. Wie auch das kleine Hafenviertel „Little Venice“, mit vielen Bars und Restaurants. Für ausreichend Action und Aktivitäten ist ebenfalls gesorgt. Das Hotel selbst verfügt weiterhin über eine Tauchschule, ein top ausgestattetes Gym, einen Fahrradverleih, mehrere Bowlingbahnen, einen Tennisplatz sowie Outdoor-Schach. Für die die Insel erkunden wollen findet sich in der Lobby ein Counter von Avis, mit total fairen Preisen, super Service und einfache Handhabe. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden und planen auf jeden Fall wieder zu kommen.

Das Hotel ist ein sehr großer Komplex und dennoch keine Bettenburg. Der Service ist gut, das Personal ausgesprochen nett, die Zimmer sauber und schön und die Betten sehr bequem. Der Garten ist wunderschön angelegt und grenzt an einen archäologischen Park- durch diese aufgelockerte Anlage entsteht nicht der Eindruck einer Hotelburg. Toll auch die Pools, die teils ruhiger und teils lebendiger sind. Nur am Family Pool darf Ball gespielt werden und Spielzeug verwendet werden. Das Abendessen findet in 2 slots statt, für die man sich anmelden muss, aber jederzeit wieder wechseln kann. Das kann mich nicht so recht begeistern, stellt aber sicher dass auch die späteren Gäste ein sauberes Restaurant vorfinden und frisches Essen. Von 20 Uhr bis 20.30 ist das Restaurant aus diesem Grund geschlossen. Das Essen selbst ist Buffet oberer Standard und wäre nicht meine erste Wahl, wobei diese Form natürlich ideal ist mit Kindern. An unseren letzten beiden Tagen war das Hotel nahezu ausgebucht und sehr voll. Es muss den Gästen bewusst sein, dass zu den stark frequentierten Zeiten der Charme des Hotels ein wenig leidet. Die Lage in Mogan ist ausgezeichnet. Man ist sehr schnell am Hafen und im Ort, wobei man am Hafen ausgezeichnet essen kann. Freitags gibt es eine Delfintour ab Mogan, die sehr empfehlenswert ist und sich deutlich von anderen Touren abhebt, da es hier sehr große Schulen von heimischen Delfinen gibt und diese recht ungestört leben. So hatten wir das außerordentliche Vergnügen, von hunderten von Bottlenose Delfinen umzingelt zu sein, die am Boot völlig selbstvergessen gespielt und Wettrennen veranstaltet haben. Unbedingt buchen!

Nous séjournons actuellement au Cordial Mogán Playa. Dans l’ensemble, le séjour est agréable et le personnel du petit-déjeuner est exceptionnel : toujours souriant, accueillant et serviable. En revanche, plusieurs points sont décevants. Les chambres sont propres mais vieillissantes, avec notamment des joints de baignoire noircis. La restauration est le véritable point faible de l’hôtel. Le personnel du restaurant de la piscine est peu réactif et peu chaleureux. Nous avons également rencontré plusieurs erreurs de commande : pizza au thon remplacée par une margarita (qui a été d’ailleurs écrasée par la boîte de la pizza par le serveur) , tortilla servie avec du chorizo alors que nous avions demandé une nature, puis la seconde tortilla est arrivée insuffisamment cuite. Nous avons également eu un jus de fruits périmé au petit-déjeuner. Le tout à des prix bien plus élevés que dans les restaurants aux alentours. Enfin, seules deux bouteilles d’eau sont offertes à l’arrivée. Ensuite, la petite bouteille est facturée 2,60 €, sans aucun point d’eau à disposition dans l’hôtel. Dommage, car avec une rénovation des chambres et une amélioration de la restauration, cet hôtel serait une excellente adresse. Nous mettrons cet avis à jour au fur et à mesure de notre séjour afin de partager notre expérience jusqu’à notre départ.
