📍 Atlantis Aquila Hotel – Ηράκλειο Κρήτης Υπάρχουν κάποια εστιατόρια που δεν διαφημίζονται έντονα — και ίσως αυτός είναι ο λόγος που παραμένουν μικρά «μυστικά» για όσους ξέρουν να αναζητούν την πραγματική ποιότητα ✨ Το a la carte εστιατόριο του Atlantis Aquila Hotel είναι ακριβώς αυτό: ένα κρυμμένο γαστρονομικό διαμάντι στο κέντρο του Ηρακλείου 💎 Ας ξεκινήσουμε από το βασικό: το φαγητό 🍽️ Εδώ μιλάμε για μια κουζίνα που ισορροπεί ιδανικά ανάμεσα στο κλασικό και το σύγχρονο. Οι κοπές κρέατος είναι εξαιρετικές 🥩 — ταλιάτες σωστά ψημένες, ribeye με ιδανική λιπαρότητα και ένταση γεύσης, που δείχνουν κορυφαία πρώτη ύλη και τεχνική ακρίβεια 🔥 Το μενού, όμως, δεν σταματά εκεί. Ξεχωρίζουν πιάτα με δημιουργική προσέγγιση όπως: 🍄 ένα ιδιαίτερο ριζότο μανιταριών, με βάθος και ισορροπία 🇬🇷 ένας «πειραγμένος» κυλινδρικός μουσακάς που δίνει νέα διάσταση σε ένα τόσο κλασικό πιάτο Στα γλυκά, η εμπειρία απογειώνεται 🍰 Δεν είναι απλά ένα κλείσιμο γεύματος — είναι λόγος να επιστρέψεις. Προσεγμένα, ισορροπημένα και με χαρακτήρα 😍 Η κάβα είναι εντυπωσιακή 🍷 Επιλεγμένες ετικέτες, γνωστά ονόματα αλλά και ενδιαφέρουσες προτάσεις, που καλύπτουν κάθε γευστική προτίμηση. Φαίνεται ότι έχει δοθεί πραγματική σημασία στο wine pairing 👌 Το service είναι υποδειγματικό 🙌 Επαγγελματικό χωρίς να γίνεται ψυχρό, φιλικό χωρίς υπερβολές — με γνώση, διάθεση και άψογο timing ⏱️ Η ατμόσφαιρα συμπληρώνει ιδανικά την εμπειρία ✨ Κομψή, ήρεμη και με μια αίσθηση «αστικής πολυτέλειας» που δύσκολα βρίσκεις στο κέντρο της πόλης 🏙️ Συνολικά, πρόκειται για ένα εστιατόριο που πολλοί αγνοούν — όχι γιατί δεν αξίζει, αλλά γιατί δεν γνωρίζουν τι πραγματικά προσφέρει 🤫 Και αυτό το κάνει ακόμα πιο ξεχωριστό. Αν ψάχνεις ένα πραγματικά ποιοτικό γεύμα στο Ηράκλειο, με εξαιρετικό κρέας, δημιουργική κουζίνα και άψογο service, βάλε το πολύ ψηλά στη λίστα σου ⭐ 🍷🔥

Le personnel est très agréable et professionnel, et l’accueil est également très bien. Le petit déjeuner est un vrai point positif, avec un bon choix et une qualité appréciable. Les petites piscines sont également agréables et ont le mérite d’être présentes, même si elles restent assez petites. En revanche, nous avons été déçus par l’aménagement de la chambre. Elle est très mal agencée, avec notamment le lavabo directement dans l’entrée. Les toilettes et la douche ne disposent d’aucune aération, ce qui est assez gênant. La salle de bain manque également d’intimité : elle n’est pas réellement fermée et une ouverture permet d’être visible depuis la chambre en sortant de la douche. Nous avons aussi constaté quelques problèmes de propreté et d’entretien, notamment un cendrier contenant des ongles qui n’avait visiblement pas été vidé. Le lit d’appoint est également à revoir : les lattes se déboîtent très facilement, même en s’allongeant doucement dessus. Dans l’ensemble, le personnel, l’accueil et le petit déjeuner sont de vrais points positifs, mais l’agencement de la chambre, le manque d’intimité et certains détails d’entretien sont vraiment à améliorer.

We had 10 wonderful days at the Aquila Atlantis. The hotel offered everything we had previously planned for our stay in Heraklion: a central location (close to the city, about an 8-minute walk to the Morosini Fountain/the market street, about 5 minutes to Plateia Eleftherias or the port, the Archaeological Museum is right next door, we visited the Palace of Knossos by public bus), quiet rooms (the rooms are soundproofed; with the window closed, you can't hear the port or the airport 6 kilometers away), and an interesting view (we chose an "Executive room with a port view"). The service is first-class; all staff members were always friendly and helpful, even with questions and requests that went beyond the usual standard. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned daily and restocked with two coffee capsules and water bottles each. The breakfast buffet (included) is plentiful, fresh, and delicious. There was nothing to complain about with the Wi Fi signal either. For 5 days, we rented a car, which we parked overnight at the harbor (6 €/night, about a 5-minute walk). The hotel parking lot is very small; the few parking spaces cannot be reserved. We did not use the spa facilities, and the pools were still closed at the end of March. Tip: Be sure to try the hotel restaurant. It may not have the charm of the many tavernas in the surrounding area, but the quality and prices of the food are really excellent! We are very satisfied and are happy to recommend the Aquila Atlantis Hotel. A very warm thank you to Maria and all the other unnamed staff members who made our stay so pleasant.

The breakfast buffet was a standout. The quality and options were great and improved as more visitors arrived. We were on half board and many were not on it so we were allowed to order directly from the menu. On the second night drinks were comped too. Our server was Stella and she was absolutely great. She was welcoming, understanding and helpful. Another staff member who was great was the young man at the entrance on our arrival day. He helped us with the bags and parked our car for us but we didn’t see him again. Other staff members we interfaced with were satisfactory and below expectations for the price we paid ($280+ per night). The front desk especially was really lacking hospitality and bedside manner. There is airplane noise as there’s a flight every 4 minutes, but our room was very soundproofed when the door is shut tight. Parking is limited and there’s a logistical issue with having to send someone up to get the door opened. The pool is very small for a property of this size, it’s congested, but satisfactory. Location is excellent especially close to the Heraklion museum.

Having been completely satisfied with the Aquila hotels—and especially the Elounda Village and Rithymna Beach —during our previous visit to Crete, this time, as our plans included a lot of activities around Heraklion, we stayed at the Atlantis. The facilities are very beautiful, with a particularly attractive design, and the lobby is exceptional—a very pleasant and convenient space whether for dining, a meeting or work (yes, we did this as well), or simply for a drink and some relaxation. The breakfast was very good, and the food was excellent in everything we tried. The room we stayed in had an amazing view of the harbor and the Koule. As always, what made the biggest difference was the exceptional staff, who, with great enthusiasm and cheerfulness, went above and beyond what we’d expect from a hotel in this category. It was a pleasant surprise to find that the hotel has a few free parking spaces available, as well as a partnership with a large underground parking garage located just a few meters away at a very low cost. We can’t wait to visit Atlantis and wonderful Crete again.

Sehr schönes Hotel im Zentrum von Heraklion. Zimmer: Mein Mann und ich waren 5 Nächte im Aquila. Unser Zimmer war sehr ordentlich und sogar für Allergiker geeignet (Parkettboden). Service: Egal ob Empfangspersonal, Putzpersonal oder die Kellner im Restaurant, man hat überall die griechische Gastfreundlichkeit gespürt. Standort: Man kommt innerhalb 5 bis 10 Minuten zu Fuß entweder in die Innenstadt, an eine gut angebundene Bushaltestelle (Plateia Eloudas - Astoria) oder an den Hafen, in dem man gut eine Segeltour Richtung Insel Dia starten kann. Idealer Ausgangspunkt um die Stadt zu erkunden!
