A few things to ask first: 1) Are the double or queen/king beds really one mattress? Ours was two twins stuck together - one of my least favourite things when on holiday. 2) Are they under renovation? They are renovating the mezzanine. 3) Where is breakfast served? Here it is on the ground floor. Athens is full of rooftop hotels with view of the Acropolis - choose one where you start the day with this incredible view not one where the view is reserved only for drinks and dinners. The rooms are a bit tired - chipped table, missing hooks on the bathroom door, staff service is okay,not stellar. My opinion - i would not book again - would look at for example the Athens Gate Hotel instead for a same / similar price point.

Nice hotel, very small gym. We had a sewer smell coming from the shower drain. We mentioned it and they passed bt very quickly it helped but did not completely solve the issue. Most likely their's no goose neck. The breakfast is very nice. The price is a bit high but you get the prime location.

I had a wonderful stay at the Amalia Hotel Athens and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The service throughout the hotel was excellent—staff were consistently friendly, professional, and attentive. One of the biggest highlights is the location. The hotel is perfectly situated just about 100 meters from the Syntagma Metro Station, making it incredibly convenient to get around Athens and access major attractions. A special mention goes to Pauagiota at the reception. She was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was smooth and enjoyable. Her kindness and professionalism really stood out and made a lasting impression. Overall, a fantastic experience—great room, great service, and an unbeatable location.

Die Lage ist super und perfekt um die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten in Athen fußläufig zu besichtigen. Das Hotel und die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet. Wir hatten allerdings ein Zimmer auf der Vorderseite und haben die ganze Nacht über die Straße gehört. Auch die anderen Gäste konnte man durch die Wände hören. Das Frühstück war gut

★★★★☆ We had a very pleasant stay at Amalia Hotel Athens. The reception staff were exceptionally kind, polite, and knowledgeable — always eager to help with directions and recommendations. The rooms are a bit dated (especially the carpet), but they were very clean and comfortable, which mattered most to us. Breakfast was generous and tasty, with a nice variety: Greek filter coffee and espresso options, plenty of fresh vegetables, and a good selection of baked items. Checkout was smooth and friendly as well. The location is a big plus — right across from a beautiful garden and within reasonable walking distance of the Acropolis. Overall, a very good experience and a solid choice for staying in Athens.

Die Zimmer sind leise. Die Lage ist top. Die Dachterrassen-Bar hat einen der schönsten, wenn nicht DEN schönsten Ausblick auf die Akropolis. Auch mal bei Nacht besuchen!
