The location of this hotel is truly excellent, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. However, it does not meet the standards of a five-star property. Room sizes and conditions vary greatly, some are decent, while others feel greatly outdated. The walls are extremely thin; you can hear everything from neighboring rooms and the hallway. In the older part of the hotel the doors are poorly fitted, leaving wide gaps that let both light and sound in from the corridor. There is no gym or wellness area, which for me is an absolute must in this category. The furniture throughout the hotel is in need of renovation. Around the pool, the umbrellas are rusted, and the chairs and tables at the pool bar and restaurant do not give a five-star impression. Overall, you are paying for the location, which is admittedly good. In terms of facilities and upkeep, however, this hotel should be rated at best 3–4 stars. Unfortunately, it feels overpriced for what is offered.

It could be worthy of a 5-star hotel. A few months ago, we booked a deluxe room with a sea view for one night at a price of €650. For that amount, the room is very basic and overpriced. If you look over the rusty roof of the restaurant, you can see the sea in the distance. To my great surprise, I discovered that day that the rooms are now being offered at half price. I couldn't resist telling my story at the reception desk. Because of my opinion and disappointment, we were offered a suite, which we did not accept. The experience of enjoying the hotel should start from the moment you arrive. We were also told that during the high season, the cocktail bar is closed and that cocktails are available at the outdoor bar :-) ?! The cocktails are very tasty, as is the lunch. The breakfast was very extensive and worthy of 5 stars. It's a shame we weren't able to fully enjoy this charming hotel.

Great hotel! Stayed here for 5 days on a girls trip. We decided to splurge and landed on the Farol hotel for its beach location and because it was a 5 star hotel. While we loved our stay there, it probably wouldn’t be considered 5 star in NYC, concierge wasn’t completely up to speed on excursions and drink service by the pool could have been a bit more attentive (guests having to get up to place an order, rather than full service checking on guests). With that said the staff really made our stay amazing!! Shout out to Dave, Alexey, Lorenzo, Madelina and Diogo!!!! They made us feel so at home and comfortable (seriously we were sad to leave them!). We probably wouldn’t have drank at the bar (NYC prices..) but found ourselves back there most nights after dinners because Dave, Alexey and the bar staff were great company and made every night really enjoyable and entertaining!!! I run a bar in NYC and would hire them in a heartbeat!!! Overall a great experience! Beaches are a 2 minute walk. Walk to the town/shops/restaurants 10 minutes. We stayed in an ocean view suite with 2 twin beds, with its own little outdoor space patio chairs, overlooking the cliffs and the water. I would definitely recommend a stay here! Thanks again to the amazing staff!!!

Literally overlooking the Atlantic, perched on the imposing cliffs of Cascais with the ocean at its feet, the Farol Hotel reflects the unique charm of Portugal’s most cosmopolitan village. . A proud member of the prestigious Preferred Hotels & Resorts chain, the Farol Hotel is the result of a harmonious and eclectic fusion of a restored 19th-century mansion, once owned by the Count of Cabral, with exclusive designer furniture and contemporary works of art. The result is an inspiring union between the classicism of the past and contemporary design. . The rooms are spacious and modern, divided into four types: garden view, sea view, superior and junior suites. As the hotel is already a few years old, I think they should invest in modernising the bathrooms, but comfort is evident in every detail and, above all, in the hospitality we receive. . In terms of services, The Mix restaurant and Bar on The Rocks complement each other beautifully. In the afternoon, afternoon tea is served between the rooms that separate the two spaces. In the evening, the bar supports the restaurant, which serves good sushi and signature dishes, as well as coming into its own with a wide range of classics and signature cocktails. . Undoubtedly a small oasis away from the chaos of Lisbon, but just over 30 metres away outside rush hour. Congratulations to everyone who gave us an excellent stay.

A minha estadia neste hotel foi simplesmente incrível! Desde o momento em que cheguei, senti-me verdadeiramente bem-vinda. O staff da receção merece um destaque especial pelo profissionalismo, mega atencioso e sendo sempre impecável. Os porteiros foram igualmente prestáveis e educados, sempre com um sorriso. O pessoal do bar e do restaurante, super queridos igualmente. A comida estava excelente e o ambiente é mesmo acolhedor. Até o staff de limpeza foi exemplar — sempre discreto, eficiente e super educado. Posso honestamente dizer que raramente fui tão bem tratada num hotel. Nota-se que toda a equipa trabalha com gosto e dedicação. Recomendo vivamente e voltarei, sem dúvida!

We loved our stay at the Farol Hotel. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. Our room (the twin room garden view) was clean and spacious. The hotel location is perfect, right at the edge of the town center and on the water. The pool and outdoor bar have gorgeous views of the ocean. There is a beautiful bike/walking path right by the hotel too.
