Vidamar Algarve Hotel

This is not a 5-star hotel. Location is good if you’re looking for something close to the beach, however there are no restaurants close by so you’ll definitely need a car to get to anything worthwhile. We stayed in a Club-room and it was an okay room. It had a nice view of the resort, the bathroom however, isn’t very well planed so you wont be able to get ready at the same time. The hotel does not have irons, they only offer an ironing service. The maids are friendly and clean well but for our 7-night stay they left things in our room three times and took one of our key-cards to the room with them twice. The rest of the staff are not friendly or service minded, only one man working in the Mar Club was able to meet 5-star service. We had lunch one day at the Sunset-restaurant and waited 45 minutes for our food only to be asked what we ordered after that. We decided to not have lunch there again. The breakfast was okay, not much to complain over except again the staff. Once you have gotten your coffee, no one asks if you’ll like more and we were only informed on the last day we could get anything other than brewed coffee. On our last full day we went to the reception to confirm our late checkout that we asked for when we booked and again when we checked in only to be informed we would be changed €50 for every hour we “over stayed”. We decided to leave by the normal checkout time because we felt uncomfortable even though we had confirmed late checkout prior to this. Not once were we asked how our stay was. I could go on for a while…if you’re a family looking for a beachfront resort this is probably for you. I wouldn’t recommend it to any couple or anyone looking for 5-star service.

We cannot recommend VidaMar Algarve highly enough — it was truly everything we had ever dreamed of for our wedding. From the moment I first walked into the venue in 2023, I knew it was the one, and seeing it come to life on our wedding day in August 2025 was just magical. The wedding area is completely separate from the rest of the hotel, giving us our own private space, and even the children had so much room to run around safely and freely — it made the day feel intimate and relaxed for everyone. The food was absolutely incredible. We chose the BBQ buffet option, and every guest, from our youngest at 4 to the adults, raved about how delicious it was. Everything was perfectly catered and thoughtfully planned, making every meal a joy. George at the venue was an absolute star. He was approachable, attentive, and went out of his way to make both me and my husband feel completely at ease. His support, combined with the beauty of the venue, allowed us to truly enjoy every moment and soak in the day. VidaMar Algarve gave us a wedding that was seamless, breathtaking, and unforgettable — it was more than we could have hoped for, and we will cherish those memories forever.

Das Hotel ist ganz in Ordnung, aber es als Fünf-Sterne-Hotel zu bezeichnen, ist übertrieben. Für mich wären maximal vier Sterne angemessen. Das Essen entspricht eher dem Standard eines Drei-Sterne-Hotels als einem Fünf-Sterne-Haus. In einem Fünf-Sterne-Hotel sollte man keine Rühreier aus einer Eimasse servieren, die sich wie hartes Butter schneiden lässt. Die Lage des Hotels ist ruhig. Die Position ist gut, um die Algarve zu erkunden oder einen Ausflug nach Lissabon zu machen, allerdings unbedingt mit einem Mietwagen. In der näheren Umgebung gibt es sonst nichts. Was die Ausstattung betrifft: Wenn man sich als Fünf-Sterne-Hotel bezeichnet, sollte es selbstverständlich sein, dass Wasser und Kaffeekapseln täglich aufgefüllt werden. Und wenn das aus irgendeinem Grund schwierig ist, könnten sie die zwei Kapseln und eine Flasche Wasser pro Tag einfach in den Zimmerpreis einkalkulieren – dann hätte niemand etwas auszusetzen. Es ist wirklich befremdlich, dass man für eine ganze Woche nur eine halbe Literflasche Wasser und vier Kapseln erhält. Im Vergleich zu anderen Fünf-Sterne-Hotels, in denen ich schon war, gibt es hier einige Dinge, die ich so noch nie erlebt habe – vielleicht ist das in Portugal einfach üblich. Insgesamt war das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis jedoch in Ordnung und ich bin zufrieden. Das Zimmer und das Hotel waren sauber und neu. Aber ein Preis ab 1.300 Euro pro Person für eine Woche in der Hochsaison wäre für dieses Hotel meiner Meinung nach absolut nicht gerechtfertigt.

Wir waren im Oktober für 7 Tage im Vidamar mit Halbpension. Empfang bei Anreise freundlich und mit kurzer Erklärung des Hotels. Zimmer mit Pool Blick sauber, und genügend Ablagemöglichkeiten. Frühstück umfangreich und lecker. Abendessen mit einer guten Auswahl an Fisch und Fleisch, Käse, und Nachtisch.(für unseren Geschmack zu viel Koriander) Poolbereich ist Mega gross und mit sauberen u. ordentlichen Liegen bestückt. Super. Weg zum Kilometer langen Strand über einen Holzsteg zu erreichen. Mega zum spazieren gehen. Zwei Hochzeiten während der 7 Tage, Party u. laute Musik bis 02.00 Uhr.(laut Tui nur Hochzeiten im Sommer) Mietwagen ist ein Muss, Umgebung ist sehr ruhig. Insgesamt hat uns der Urlaub im Vidamar Hotel gefallen, würden beim nächsten Mal mit Frühstück buchen, da es in der Umgebung tolle Restaurants gibt.

Wir hatten einen sehr erholsamen und wunderschönen Urlaub im Vidamar Resort an der Algarve. Die komplette Außenanlage ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Die Zimmer sehr modern, groß und sauber mit herrluchem Blick auf Pool, Palmen und Strand. Im Hotel herrscht ein entspannte und freundliche Atmosphäre. Das Personal ist jederzeit freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Frühstücksbuffet grandios und auch beim Abendessen findet jeder das passende. Herausragend sind die Nachspeisen. Der Poolbereich ist wirkluch einzigartig schön und die schöne Lage am Sandsteand das i- Tüpfelchen. Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment sehr wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Hotel com instalações e quartos merecidos de 5*. Em relação ao serviço, comentamos várias vezes que parece um hotel 3*. Foram atenciosos em relação à minha bebé, para além do berço deixaram uma banheira para ser mais facil dar banho. Quem tem carros eléctricos pedem 10€ extra para acesso ao carregamento. Fomos com meia pensão, o bufete ao pequeno almoço tem de tudo um pouco, só senti falta de iogurtes "normais", porque ou tem natural ou iogurte misturado com museli. O jantar é que é muito, muito fraco para um hotel/resort de 5*, bebidas não incluidas. Dois tipos de peixe e de carne, 1 travessa de legumes, outra de batatas e outra de arroz, no show cooking tem uma carne apenas. Entradas básicas queijos, enchidos e saladas frias já empratadas. Para quem frequenta hotéis de 5* desiludiu bastante. O bar da piscina parece que não há chefia, uma bandalheira. Não lavam os liquidificadores entre cocktail (eu vi), pedimos mojitos, ou se esquecem de meter hortelã ou lima e servem na mesma, o cliente que se lixe e é TUDO A PAGAR. A água da piscina é GELADA, parece que estamos a entrar no mar do norte. Os restaurante a la carta tambem muito fracos e caros, pedimos lulas grelhadas e apresentaram tudo menos grelhadas, pedimos arroz de berbigão e trouxeram no arroz de lingueirão, enfim...
