Ein tolles Hotel direkt an den Pools, die man als Hotelgast kostenfrei nutzen kann. Ein Hotel mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Die Zimmer sind gemütlich großzügig und mit Balkon, Wasserkocher und Café- Maschine ausgestattet. Zusätzlich zu den Piscinas vor Ort gibt es einen kleinen Pool, Sauna und Whirlpool auf dem Dach. Das Frühstücks- Buffett ist toll und reichhaltig. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Hotel bietet täglich kleine Aktivitäten an ( Madeira- Wein- Tasting, Sprachkurs,..). Zur Hauptstadt und zu den prominenten Wanderungen muss man 40-60 Minuten fahren, aber das ist auf der Insel normal, da es sehr viel Bergauf und Bergab geht ;-)

Came here for three nights but left after two. Hotel is completely overpriced for what is delivered. The suite itself was recently renovated with a pleasant interior design. The long, narrow floor layout is not convenient. In particular, the balcony with high walls at each side restricts the views of the natural pools, which are the main draw of this place. The newly installed AC in the suite frequently reset itself into a locked mode, requiring calls to reception to restore the settings, and heating was unavailable, which would have been good given the weather. On the second evening, we were kept awake by irregular banging sounds, similar to a construction site, which we suspect came from something loose on the roof terrace of the spa above us. There were stronger winds. After staff was unable to locate the source, they moved us to a room in the other building. That building is currently under renovation, meaning construction noise from 9 am to 6 pm. The first replacement room smelled unpleasant and the air conditioning remote was missing. Staff explained the building had just received new AC units but the remotes had not yet arrived. We were moved again, only to find the mattress topper covered in mould and urine stains. Both alternative rooms were visibly in need of renovation, with mouldy and malodorous bathrooms. We checked out one night early. Staff were apologetic, but we were charged the full rate for both nights stayed. Beyond the accommodation itself, the plain breakfast was the worst we had on the island. The reception staff are well-meaning but lack professionalism. Due to overcast and rainy conditions, we did not use the natural pools. Porto Moniz has a somewhat bleak atmosphere in this weather. I recommend to not stay in Porto Moniz and do a trip there in case weather conditions are good.

Amazing location with room overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Very friendly staff. Amazing choice of food in the restaurant. Lovely pool and jacuzzi on the roof. My only criticism would be finding where to go first time. Maybe better signage or a little handout map. Will definitely return when possible.

Nous avons séjourné hier dans cet hôtel et nous sommes ravis du service reçu. L’établissement est très beau, les chambres sont spacieuses, confortables et agréables. C’est un vrai bonheur de pouvoir terminer la journée à 21h par un moment de détente au jacuzzi et au sauna. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et excellent. Ce qui nous a particulièrement marqués, c’est l’accueil du personnel : attentionné, aux petits soins, et ponctué de délicates attentions très appréciables — un verre de bienvenue, une bouteille de champagne dans la chambre, nos sacs déjà déposés à l’arrivée, une confiture maison. Nous remercions chaleureusement Beatriz, à la réception, pour sa disponibilité et sa gentillesse. Une bienveillance qui se retrouve dans toute l’équipe, d’autant plus que tout le monde parle parfaitement anglais. Une très belle expérience que nous recommandons sans hésiter.

We enjoyed our stay overall. Very friendly staff, food was really nice we did the half board. Parking was up a very steep road but included. The gym was at their different hotel down the road. The sauna, hot tub & pool was on the roof top with beautiful views but gets very busy. Downsides was that everyday we had to ask for different toiletries or towels as they weren’t restocked, we were there for multiple days. Also we had fire alarms that went off 2 times and one was at like 5 am and it was a false alarm. Our room was definitely one of the older rooms and needs some love but it was fine.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit sauberen und geräumigen Zimmern. Unser Zimmer hatte zudem einen tollen Blick auf die Natural Pools – ob das bei allen Zimmerkategorien der Fall ist, können wir allerdings nicht beurteilen. Der Check-in verlief reibungslos und die Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hilfreich wären vor der Anreise noch ein paar Informationen zur Parksituation vor Ort gewesen, insbesondere für den Fall, dass die Parkplätze direkt am Hotel bereits belegt sind. Besonders gut gefallen haben uns neben den Natural Pools auch der Spa-Bereich mit Infinity Pool, Whirlpool und Sauna. Dieser befindet sich auf der Terrasse im obersten Stockwerk und bietet eine wirklich schöne Aussicht. Das Frühstück ist gut und bietet eine ordentliche Auswahl. Zu Stosszeiten ist der Bereich teilweise etwas eng bestuhlt und auch das Buffet könnte etwas grosszügiger angeordnet sein, um Gedränge zu vermeiden. Das war für uns allerdings kein grösseres Problem – hier gibt es lediglich noch etwas Verbesserungspotenzial auf hohem Niveau. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Klare Empfehlung!
