This hotel has a lot of potential, and is in a nice location. Unfortunately the rooms, beds, facilities and parking situation mean that I cannot give it a good score. The positives: + The location is close to hikes, the stone beach, and some nice local restaurants + The rooms have a nice and sunny view of the beach + The hotel technically offers many facilities. The negatives: - The beds are extremely uncomfortable and hard, by far the hardest bed I have ever slept on, with springs being felt through the mattress topper. - The rooms are poorly sound insulated from the hallway and neighboring rooms. Constant noise in the evenings and mornings, earplugs are recommended. - The hotel "spa" facilities are strange, with the pool being in the lobby and very visible to the street and everyone entering the hotel, and the Sauna being a small box in the lobby. The workout "room" is also in the lobby, separated only by small divider walls. - The parking is very cramped, and if it fills up it is impossible to turn around, meaning you would have to reverse out again. Recommend sending someone to check if a spot is available before driving down to the parking lot. - The breakfast is fine, but not great quality, there is a long wait to get coffee. - The Wifi was very slow. - Almost everyone we encountered who works at the hotel, except the cleaning staff, seemed unenthusiastic about their jobs and not keen to help guests with anything. This was in great contrast to every other place and restaurant we visited in Madeira were people are generally very friendly. Overall, this hotel gave the impression of putting very little care and effort into most aspects of its operations, especially given it is a 4-star hotel and quite expensive for what is offered. We ended up leaving the hotel early and booking somewhere else.

Der Ort selber ist spitze. Einer der schönsten Orte auf der Insel. Eine sightseeing-Tour bzw. Wanderung durch den kompletten Ort lohnt sich auf jeden Fall (Höhenmeter!). Die Lage des Hotels ist in einer „Anliegerstraße“; alle Zimmer haben Blick auf den Atlantik. Es gibt Zimmer mit Balkon und ohne. Die vierte Etage hat nur 5 Zimmer. Das Personal war immer sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir hatten Halbpension. Das Buffet war okay, eher Durchschnitt. Der Wellness/Spa-Bereich befindet sich im Erdgeschoss, direkt neben dem Haupteingang. Man kann „Show“-Saunieren bzw. Baden. Nicht gut gelöst, zudem der feuchtwarme Chlorgeruch bis in den Speisebereich dringt. Im Mai ist immer ein Fest, genau auf der Straße vom Hotel. Da ist schlafen schwierig, da laute Musik bis nach Mitternacht. Vorher erkundigen! Parken: es gibt ein hoteleigenes Parkhaus, welches nur 28 Plätze hat und abends meistens voll ist. Zwei benachbarte Tunnel (Sackgasse) bieten aber Platz für den Mietwagen. Nur nicht bei dem Fest. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung, ausreichend groß aber extrem hellhörig. In der 1. Etage (da waren wir) sind die Service-Räume der Mitarbeiter. Um 07:00 Uhr früh ist die Nacht vorbei. Tipp: Zimmer nicht in der ersten Etage, möglichst weit oben (am besten 4. Etage mit herrliche Terrasse). Nicht zu Zeiten dieses Festes. Unbedingt Ort ansehen! Für ein Wellness-Urlaub ist das Hotel ungeeignet.

Ok so here’s the thing - you can’t beat the location - the restaurants in area the location the beauty . The ocean beach with free umbrellas is a few steps away!!!!! The only draw backs: food is like meh, it’s ok. it’s loud - you hear other ppl talking in hallway you hear chairs moving across floors above you . Otherwise no complaints. Nice clean pool & Turkish sauna was just awesome. 👏🏼

9.2 “Un très bel hôtel à Ponta Do Sol” Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour à l’Enotel de Ponta Do Sol: une belle chambre spacieuse et bien équipée, un petit-déjeuner copieux et varié, un bon service de restauration le soir et un espace spa (sauna et hammam) et piscine bien agréables pour se détendre après les randonnées… La ville de Ponta Do Sol est très agréable et bien située pour rayonner sur l’île, l’hôtel s’intègre bien dans le décor de la ville qui garde son authenticité. Quelques points d’amélioration cependant notamment sur l’isolation phonique des chambres et de l’espace spa qui laisse un peu à désirer et sur la communication à l’accueil … mais ce ne sont que des points secondaires par rapport au reste.

Empfehlenswert! Da gibt es überhaupt nichts zu meckern. Wir waren 1 Woche dort mit Wikinger Reisen. Wir hatten ein großes Dreibettzimmer mit Meerblick. Das Hotel ist sauber. Frühstücksbüffet umfangreich mit viel frischem Obst, Käse, Aufschnitt, Müsli usw usw. Klasse. Abendessenbüffet auch sehr umfangreich. Mehrere Möglichkeiten. Dazu täglich frisch gegrillter Fisch oder Fleisch. Danach verschiedene Nachtische. Ich sage nur: lecker lecker lecker. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir hatten sturmbedingt Abflugprobleme. Die Rezeptionisten haben uns unterstützt, wir konnten im Hotel bis zum Abflug bleiben. Ein baulicher Fehler ist der Indoorpool, den man teilweise von der Lobby einsehen kann, samt Chlorgeruch.. Das lässt sich nun nicht mehr ändern. Stört aber auch nicht. Wir würden wieder dort wohnen, wenn wir nach Madeira kommen.

Netjes schoon hotel. Inchecken bij de receptie gaat gewoon gewoon lekker snel. Grote kamer 214(wij hadden zeezicht maar volgens mij hebben de meeste kamers dat), prima faciliteiten zoals het zwembad. Ook parkeerplaatsen voor gasten zijn gratis en goed geregeld. De parkeerplaats onder het hotel is alleen bereikbaar voor gasten. Ontbijt is erg goed, en de lokatie ook. Diverse restaurants en winkel in de buurt.
