Overall I enjoyed the experience, though there is room for improvement. On the positive side, the hotel is very modern, blends relatively well into the landscape, and offers large rooms with ample storage space and very comfortable mattresses. I enjoyed the balcony. The hotel has several bars and restaurants, multiple pools, and a solid gym. On the other hand, this is clearly not a five-star hotel. The staff are mostly undertrained and/or unmotivated, offering only the bare minimum in service (there are exceptions, like Manuel at the reception). Some questionable design choices were made, most notably little lighting and slightly impractical bathroom facilities. Soundproofing could also be better. When a wedding party was held on the rooftop terrace, it was audible on the third floor, though sleeping with the windows closed was manageable. It is also pleasant to stroll through the kitchen garden and up to the miradouro. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, but most dishes were underwhelming, the pancakes being a notable exception. This place is tailor-made for influencer content. It feels more like a showcase investment project where cost-efficiency visibly takes priority over guest satisfaction. I recommend to improve on the latter.

Tolle Unterkunft in toller Lage. Immer schönes Wetter auf dieser Seite der Insel. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend und erfüllt jeden Wunsch. Pool und Terrasse sind traumhaft. Das Essen in den eigenen Restaurants ist 5-Sterne würdig. Absolute Empfehlung für jeden der wert auf das Gesamtpaket legt

Nous y avons séjourné en juin 2025 et, à la suite d'un nouveau séjour en juin 2026 dans un autre établissement de Funchal (le Pestana Carlton), dont l'expérience nous a fortement déçus, je me suis dit qu'il était nécessaire de rendre à César ce qui appartient à César. Nous avons passé 3 nuits au Saccharum et gardons un excellent souvenir de cet hôtel. Les petits-déjeuners sont très bons. En revanche, nous avons trouvé que le buffet du soir était légèrement en dessous du reste des prestations proposées. Le bar rooftop est tout simplement exceptionnel, notamment en soirée. L'attention du cocktail offert a été particulièrement appréciée et la piscine à débordement sur le toit a véritablement été la cerise sur le gâteau. Le personnel est professionnel, attentionné et très serviable. Nous avions une chambre avec vue mer, équipée d'une machine à café, ainsi que d'un véritable balcon permettant de profiter pleinement de la vue sur l'océan et de s'y détendre. Le principal point faible de l'établissement reste, selon nous, le manque de commodités à proximité immédiate. L'environnement est calme et agréable, mais il est nécessaire de prendre la voiture pour accéder à la plupart des commerces, restaurants ou animations. Petit point à noter pour les jeunes couples : les toilettes sont séparées de la chambre par une paroi en verre fumé, ce qui peut parfois rendre l'intimité un peu compliquée 🙂 Enfin, même si le parking est payant, les places sont garanties. Quel bonheur de pouvoir rentrer d'une randonnée sans avoir à chercher une place pendant de longues minutes, surtout en pleine période des fêtes d'été ! Nous reviendrons sans hésiter.

Really lovely hotel. Away from the main city in Madeira but close to lots of hikes and nature. The room was big and the partial ocean view was really nice. Warning - this hotel will take a while to find your way around! There's so many different sections and lifts etc. But it's really good. The pools are lovely. The gym is good. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were good.

Enjoyed a gorgeous 3-night stay at the Saccharum hotel. We were in a side ocean room (room 435) which did have a partial view of the ocean (and quite a clear view of the car park!) but the room itself was incredibly comfortable and generous with a large bed, great shower, plenty of room to stow luggage and lots of wardrobe space. The sink had ample space for toiletries, there was a Nespresso machine in the room and the bed side table was big too - which I really appreciate. The room had great AC and was quiet. The hotel itself was beautiful and had great views of the sea. I especially enjoyed the beach bar and the Fly Lounge (brilliant live music and tasty drinks!). The gym was large and well equipped, there are lots of pools and areas to sunbathe, the garden and little walk on the grounds were cute and the breakfast was really ample. Slightly irritating having to pay to park but we always easily found a space. Staff were friendly (thank you for turndown!) and Calheta was great. In short - we had a wonderful time here and I would return!

Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour dans cet hôtel pour célébrer mon anniversaire. Tout était réuni pour passer des vacances parfaites : une vue magnifique, des chambres confortables, une piscine superbe et une atmosphère très agréable. Le personnel a été particulièrement attentionné et toujours souriant. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié la qualité du petit-déjeuner ainsi que les différents espaces de l’hôtel, qui invitent vraiment à la détente. L’emplacement est idéal pour découvrir Madère tout en profitant d’un cadre calme et reposant. Nous repartons avec de très beaux souvenirs et nous n’hésiterons pas à revenir lors d’un prochain séjour sur l’île. Merci à toute l’équipe pour son accueil et son professionnalisme !
