Uno dei momenti più belli della mia vita. Temevo per l'isola troppo piccola, ma questo si è rivelato la sua vera forza. La sua magia ti rapisce appena metti piede a terra e non ti lascia più. Totalmente immerso nella natura, ti senti da subito parte di essa. La struttura non risulta mai troppo invasiva rispetto all'ambiente. Il buon gusto e il calore di tutto lo staff sono il collante di quessto magic moment. Un plauso particolare alla costante attenzione per il rispetto della natura, di limitare l'impatto sugli animali e il sostegno al progetto di ripopolamento dei coralli. Vi porterò per sempre nel mio cuore.

Our first trip to the Maldives could not have been more perfect, and we owe that to the incredible team at Athuruga. From the moment we arrived by seaplane, we were greeted with genuine warmth and kindness. Throughout our entire stay, every single member of the resort staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They made us feel at home from the very first day. The housekeeping team truly exceeded all our expectations. They paid attention to even the smallest details. At the beginning of our stay, we received two bottles of water per day. They quickly noticed that we drank a lot of water, and by the end of our holiday they were leaving eight bottles in our room every day without us ever having to ask. Our villa was always spotless, beautifully prepared, and cared for with great attention to detail. The food was outstanding. There was always a wonderful variety, and every meal offered something new and delicious to try. One of the absolute highlights was the grill station at both lunch and dinner, where fresh fish and perfectly marinated meats were prepared every day. Everything was simply delicious. The restaurant staff provided exceptional service throughout our stay. Our waiter remembered all of our preferences. After only a few days, he no longer had to ask what we wanted to drink—our bottle of sparkling water was already waiting for us at the table. As a woman, I especially appreciated the thoughtful gesture of him pulling out my chair every time we arrived. These small acts of kindness made us feel truly special, and we always looked forward to seeing him and the entire restaurant team. The bar team was equally amazing. The cocktails were excellent, the atmosphere was always cheerful, and every visit for a pre-dinner drink or an evening cocktail was a pleasure. Their positive energy and genuine hospitality made every evening even more enjoyable. The water sports centre was another highlight. The team made sure that every excursion we wanted to join could take place. We were especially impressed by the manager of the water sports team, whose respect and passion for the marine environment were evident every day. Seeing him politely but firmly remind guests to respect the reef and marine life showed how seriously the resort takes environmental conservation. We also want to give special thanks to the marine biologist. He was always available to answer questions and shared his knowledge with genuine enthusiasm. His talks and educational sessions made our appreciation of the underwater world even greater. Our beach villa was absolutely magical. We were lucky to have a fantastic location with direct access to the beach, surrounded by palm trees, soft white sand, comfortable sun loungers, and crystal-clear turquoise water. One day, the gardeners harvested coconuts from the palm trees next to our villa and kindly offered us fresh coconuts to enjoy afterwards. Moments like these made our stay even more memorable. The house reef is simply breathtaking. Every snorkelling trip revealed something new and fascinating. We saw countless colourful fish, reef sharks, turtles, and stunning coral formations. The marine life is beyond anything we could have imagined. What impressed us even more was how committed the resort management is to protecting and preserving this incredible reef. It truly is a paradise for snorkellers and divers. We had the most unforgettable holiday, and the only sad moment of our entire stay was the day we had to put our shoes back on and leave this little paradise. Thank you to the entire Athuruga team for making our first Maldives experience so incredibly special. We sincerely hope to return one day.

La settimana trascorsa a Athuruga non la dimenticherò mai .. staff cordiale e attento , cibo buonissimo , camere bellissime , barriera corallina a poche bracciate .. un grazie particolare va a Giulia e Giada per aver reso dinamiche e divertenti le nostre giornate . Abbiamo apprezzato tanto le nozioni forniteci dal biologo marino Geroge , e la disponibilità di Francesco sempre gentile sorridente .. inoltre alla spa ho avuto il piacere di fare un massaggio con un operatrice esperta che consiglio vivamente a chiunque soggiorni su quest’isola ( se non erro si chiama Ari ) . Un saluto speciale ai ragazzi del bar sulla spiaggia che ci hanno coccolati con i loro drink e la loro simpatia .

There are very few places where reality exceeds expectations, but Diamonds Athuruga is one of them. The photos and brochure set the bar incredibly high, yet somehow the experience in person was even more breathtaking. It is one of those rare destinations that simply has to be experienced to be fully appreciated. We had the pleasure of staying in one of the Water Villas, and it was everything we had hoped for and more. Waking up each morning and stepping straight from our private deck into the crystal-clear Indian Ocean was something we will never forget. In the evenings, the sunsets from the villa were absolutely spectacular. The villa itself was beautifully designed, tastefully decorated, immaculately clean and maintained to the highest standard throughout our stay. Every detail had clearly been considered. One feature we particularly appreciated was the outdoor shower access from the veranda, allowing you to rinse off after swimming or returning from the beach before entering the room. It’s a simple idea, but such a thoughtful touch that made a real difference. The hospitality was equally exceptional. Every member of staff made us feel genuinely welcome, and their attention to detail was remarkable. By only the second day, the waiter looking after our table had already memorised each of our favourite drinks at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We barely had time to sit down before our coffee, sparkling water, or glass of wine would arrive. It was a level of personal service that made us feel truly cared for. The island itself is absolutely pristine.There was also an excellent variety of activities available throughout our stay, ensuring that each day felt different and giving us plenty to experience beyond simply relaxing on the beach. That said, the highlight for us was undoubtedly the snorkelling. The house reef is simply extraordinary and is one of the island’s greatest treasures. Swimming alongside such an abundance of colourful marine life was truly an unforgettable experience. We’ve already started recommending Diamonds Athuruga to our family and friends, and despite only just returning home, we’re already looking forward to the day we can come back ourselves.

Athuruga was a delightful surprise. The island isn’t large, and the reef is easily accessible—even for beginners. Sports equipment is provided by the hotel and is in excellent condition. The food is outstanding: not as opulent as in some other resorts, but consistently delicious and thoughtfully prepared, with no waste. The beachfront rooms are simple, TV-free, and designed in a traditional rather than modern style. The staff truly stands out for their kindness and professionalism. In the main restaurant, we particularly enjoyed Mani at the roasting station and Mohamed, who took great care of us at our table. Daniele, in charge of water sports, was fantastic. He leads guests on reef excursions twice a day and is incredibly helpful for those who don’t feel confident snorkeling on their own. Athuruga è stata una sorpresa incantevole, l'isola non è grande, la barriera è facilmente accessibile anche ai principianti. Le attrezzature sportive vengono fornite dall'hotel e sono molto belle. La cucina è ottima, non opulente come altri hotel ma consente di mangiare benissimo senza sprechi. Le camere sulla spiaggia sono semplici, senza TV e in stile tradizionale, non moderno. Lo staff è un punto di riferimento, per gentilezza e professionalità, nel ristorante principale abbiamo apprezzato Mani alla roasting station, e Mohamed ai tavoli. Daniele agli sport acquatici è stato un grande, due volte al giorno porta gli ospiti a visitare la barriera ed è di grande aiuto per chi non si sente in grado di fare snorkeling
