El hotel es muy bonito, albercas muy amplias y jacuzzi relajante. Al terminar de registrarnos el señor de recepción intentó cobrarnos la tasa eco-ambiental de 82.12 pesos MXN pero en USD al intentar pagar con tarjeta, querían cobrar 82.12 USD en vez de 82.12 MXN por día por lo cual le dije que estaba mal y me comentó que es normal que cobraran en pesos e insistió que el cobro iba ser correcto, la verdad me dio desconfianza y mejor le dije el importe exacto en efectivo, me dejó mal sabor de boca apenas llegando 🥴 Y por supuesto que si niegas la plática de tiempo compartido te hacen a un lado como huésped y te hacen mala cara, es bonito el hotel pero es incómodo que te hagan mala cara por algo que ya pagaste 🤔

El hotel cuenta con una localización buena, que bajando a un par de minutos a pie, encuentras el puerto, para contratar un tour o tomar algo. Desafortunadamente tuvimos mala experiencia en el servicio al cliente de parte del restaurante, en donde diversas ocasiones a pesar de haber pagado un todo incluido, el servicio es deficiente si no eres norteamericano, retraso de tus alimentos, trato hacia los comensales. Existen otros detalles, sin embargo son los importantes para mejorar & construir un plan de acción con ellos. Agradecemos a recepción siempre fueron muy atentos con nosotros.

I want to make something very clear- this is not for the Grand Solmar. This review is for the Solmar Resort. This is tough for me to rate because my kids liked this resort but my husband and I were not fans. Even though we had a reservation checking in took way too long. There was something wrong about our reservation and it was unclear when my husband booked it and desk staff was not accommodating or friendly. So that kind of started us off on the wrong foot. The rooms were extremely dated- like straight out of the '80s. Although it was nice having a kitchenette and the rooms actually had nice space. I also did not like how far it was from the room to the pool and to the beach. Yes, it's located 'on the beach' but it is quite a walk and not a great view. And speaking of the beach- you can hang out on the sand and walk along the beach but you can't get near the waves. You do not get access into the water because of how strong the current is. So if you want to get into the water you need to stay somewhere else. I will say the all-inclusive part is what my kids love the most. They never had to ask me if they could order something (they are young adults). And they really appreciated that freedom. I will say the gentleman who was the host at the pool with the activities had an amazing personality and he was a lot of fun! I would say the food was okay. My kids loved getting all the smoothies and my daughter liked the sushi. My husband and I had a great breakfast every morning. We stayed there a week before it got really busy in March for spring break. Also, it was very peaceful. If you are a bit of a walker you can actually walk from the hotel to downtown Cabo. There is a lot to see and do there as well.

My full review for Solmar This resort deserves an award for its amazing location. It’s a 6-minute walk to the marina, 2 minutes to the Mont Solmar trailhead, and about 5 minutes to Playa Coral Negro (one of the few beaches nearby where you can actually swim). You can’t swim at the resort’s beach, but it’s still absolutely stunning long, beautiful, and perfect for watching the ocean. I watched both a sunrise and a sunset there and could honestly spend hours just sitting and taking it all in. We even spotted wildlife like whales, dolphins, seals, pelicans, stingrays, and more. The rooms were charming, clean, and comfortable, and overall the property itself is lovely. Unfortunately, the service was the most disappointing part of the experience. It honestly felt like the service you received depended heavily on how much you tipped, which took away from the overall quality. The hotel also felt extremely greedy, charging extra for almost everything and the prices were unbelievable. For example, they charged $5 USD for a medium drip coffee, with no refill. Or 20 IS dollars for 2 ice cream that is crazy… We had the American breakfast plan, and as vegetarians, we asked if we could replace bacon or ham with avocado or tomatoes, but they said absolutely not unless we paid extra. There was also nothing complimentary, not even a water station. They only offered bottled water, and of course, they charged for it. During our stay, the hot tub wasn’t working, and the safe in our room also didn’t work. For seven days we were told someone would fix it, but every time they came, they said they couldn’t and the hotel still didn’t change our room. Overall, if you’re looking for a perfect location and a clean room, this resort delivers. But be prepared for weak service, extra charges, and food that wasn’t very good.

Me gustó mucho hospedarme en este hotel. Es un lugar clásico en la historia de Los Cabos, con instalaciones amplias, un estilo tradicional muy agradable y habitaciones cómodas y muy limpias. En general, el servicio del personal fue bueno y disfrutamos nuestra estancia. Sin embargo, sí percibimos una diferencia en el trato entre turistas extranjeros y mexicanos. En nuestro caso, mi esposo vivió una situación de discriminación al ingresar a las instalaciones: el personal no creyó que estuviera hospedado en el hotel y le negaron el acceso inicialmente, lo que fue una experiencia muy incómoda. Decidimos hablar del caso con el gerente, quien nos atendió con profesionalismo, escuchó nuestra situación y le dio seguimiento de manera adecuada. Agradecemos su atención y disposición para resolver el incidente. En general, es un excelente hotel con mucho encanto, pero considero importante que trabajen en brindar el mismo trato respetuoso y cordial a todos sus huéspedes, sin importar su nacionalidad.

The hotel feels quite outdated and would clearly benefit from renovation, but the staff is very nice and welcoming. It has direct beach access, although swimming in the ocean isn’t possible due to strong currents. There’s also a pool, but it’s in the shade of the main building in the early morning. Better signage would make a big difference, especially for parking and finding the rooms. We received little to no guidance in both cases, and a few clear signs would easily solve that.
