Me and my girlfriend stayed for 2 weeks and we both had a great time at the hotel. The food was good and varied, my girlfriend is vegetarian and even the buffet offered genuine vegetarian options for her which she was delighted with. The drinks were good too and the hotel offered a good variety, the bar staff will even suggest and offer alternative drinks to what's on the menu. The staff as a whole were excellent and very, very accommodating. The hotel is situated about 10 mins away, via taxi, from shops and restaurants and it costs around 200 Mexican Pesos for transport each way, which works out around £20 in total. There is also some shops and restaurants close by to the hotel that are easy to walk to. Overall, if I were to stay within the same area again in Mexico, which I probably will consider, I would look to stay at this hotel again.

Muy linda 100% recomendada, quisiera volver. Cuenta con una playa hermosa y variedad de piscinas de distintas alturas para todos. Cuenta con servicio de barra libre ilimitado al igual que diversos restaurantes buffet adentro del hotel, tiene de todo lo que uno quiera comer o beber. Hay actividades dentro del hotel todo el dia todos los dias, no hay donde aburrirse. El personal es muy servicial. Al llegar nos recibieron calidamente y nos dieron toda la informacion necesaria, la atencion al cuarto es muy buena, limpian todos los dias e incluso a veces nos dejaban presentes en la habitación. La habitación es muy amplia con balcón. Cuenta con dispensador de alcohol y mini refrigerador con bebestibles varios. Reponen dia por medio, pero si uno avisa lo reponen cuando uno quiera. El personal del restaurante es muy amoroso y 100% servicial, siempre atentos a recoger los platos sucios y ofrecer cosas para beber. Los chicos del equipo del entretenimiento son muy animados, realizando fiestas de espuma en la piscina, hidrogimnasia, voley acuático y en playa, shows varios entre otras cosas. Una de las cosas que mas destaco son las fiestas, las riu party. Una experiencia inolvidable muy entretenida y recomendada al 100%. Encantada y maravillada con riu yucatan.

Hotel grounds are beautiful and it was a nice experience with the native animals around and being able to see them up close and natural. Staff is wonderful and always willing to try and answer a question and help if they can. Please note that there are no elevators in this facility so if you have an upper room you have steps to climb, the room was well lauded out with comfortable beds however the bathroom needs updating. The restaurants have a wide variety of of options but my only suggestion/concern is that they are lacking in Gluten Free options and that they need to mark the options better for those needing it. Pools are clean and plenty of activities to keep you busy if you so choose.

Volvimos recién de pasar 6 noches....tuvimos varias experiencias negativas con el trato de los empleados...no tienen buenas formas ni contribuyen a resolver las necesidades de los huespedes...Tuvimos que hacer varias quejas para que el subgerente nos contribuya a resolver y a partir de alli mejoró todo...ojala no hubiera sido necesario. La gastronomia no es lo mejor del hotel...lo mejor del hotel es la playa con las palmeras y la pileta frente al lobby que es super tranquila. Y lo mas excelente los shows nocturnos...impresionante la calidad de los bailarines y cantantes! Un 10 en shows y playa, pero un 3 en atención y cordialidad. No volveria y no lo recomiendo....a mi me gusta ir a donde me tratan muy bien y me consienten, si no es asi, no vuelvo porque hay muchas otras opciones!!

We stayed at Riu Yucatan in Playacar area at the end of April (it’s our 2nd time at this hotel!) and had a wonderful experience overall. The hotel grounds are large, beautiful and very clean, with lots of cute animals roaming around — coatis, agoutis, iguanas and even little spider monkeys, which made the experience feel extra special and unique. The staff were consistently friendly, helpful and hardworking. Rooms were kept very clean and anytime we needed something, staff were quick to help. Restaurants didn’t need reservations (which we liked as it’s hard to plan & be on time with little kids). And the food was amazing — huge variety at the buffets, great desserts, and plenty of options for both adults and kids. Drinks and cocktails were delicious as well. One of our favourite little details was the smoothie bar in the mornings. Jose was especially kind and friendly and the fresh custom-made fresh fruit smoothies were amazing. They even offered different plant-based milk options like oat, almond and coconut milk. The beach was beautiful and very well maintained. Yes, there was more seaweed than usual THIS YEAR (like in many places across the Caribbean) but the hotel staff worked hard cleaning it every morning and the ocean was warm, very swimmable and absolutely enjoyable every day!!! One thing we personally really loved was the palm trees on the beach instead of palapas — it gave the beach such a tropical and beautiful look. There were always plenty of beach loungers available (see my pics). There were lots of evening shows and entertainment, plus access to parties (neon, white party) at sister hotels. We also loved the foam party at the pool. For kids, there were daily crafts and activities around late morning that my children were excited to attend every day. Just note that the Kids Club is for ages 4+ only and there is only a small water play area/playground for younger kids. One more thing families with kids may want to note: the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, but the shower area has a glass door with only a light curtain for privacy (the reason I gave rooms 4 out of 5 stars). It didn’t bother me personally, but with small kids around it could feel a little awkward for some families. Frosted glass or privacy film would be a great future upgrade! The hotel also has convenient extras like a small on-site convenience store, tours available, clean lobby washrooms AND SHOWERS you can use after checkout while waiting for your transfer. Overall, if you’re looking for a beautiful, relaxing resort with great food, friendly staff, fun entertainment and a gorgeous tropical beach atmosphere, Riu Yucatan is a fantastic choice!!

Ein gutes Hotel mit leckerem Essen und guten Cocktails. Sehr nettes Personal, alles ist sauber und kurze Wege. Der Strand wird täglich gereinigt. Unser Zimmer hatte eine sehr gute Lage, knapp 200 Meter bis zum Strand das war toll 😍. Den Pool haben wir nur einmal zur Schaum Party genutzt und ein anderes Mal den kleinen Pool für unseren Sohn. Im allgemeinen ist sehr viel los am Pool (Spring Break), da sind wir lieber am Strand gewesen. Dort ist es herrlich. Die Aussicht ist genial und es wird fleißig Seegras weggeräumt. Es gibt Toiletten am Strand, was ich super finde. Geil wäre noch eine kleine Bar am Strand gewesen, so mussten wir immer wieder hoch zum Pool laufen um Getränke zu holen. Im Zimmer war alles vorhanden, Bügeleisen und Bügelbrett, Regenschirm, Föhn, ausreichend Schubladen und Kleiderbügel. Die Minibar wurde täglich befüllt. Da kann man wirklich nicht meckern, geeinigt wurde auch alles super. Wer Entertainment sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Hier gibt's Animation ohne Ende. Die Michael Jackson Show war super und auch die mexikanische Folklore Show sehr schön. Alles andere konnten wir uns leider nicht anschauen, da wir mit kleinem Kind gereist sind und dementsprechend zeitig ins Zimmer gegangen sind. Alleine hatten wir dann keine Lust zu gehen (einer musste ja beim Kind bleiben) Die Riu Party habe ich letztes Jahr schon im Palace nebenan mitgemacht, für junge Leute genial. Für mich Ü40 ist es mittlerweile zu laut und ich mag gerne laute Musik. Ich glaube die Ohren werden im Alter einfach empfindlicher. Die Ostereier suche war sehr süß gemacht für die Kinder, jedes Kind hat am Ende ein Geschenk 🎁 bekommen und es war wunderschön dekoriert. Insgesamt ein gutes Hotel mit viel Party. Wer das mag ist hier gut aufgehoben. Wir waren letztes Jahr im Riu Palace Mexico also genau nebenan und würden jetzt im Vergleich eher wieder ins Palace gehen, da war es etwas ruhiger vom Publikum her und man wurde am Strand und am Pool bedient. Das ist ein kleiner Luxus der uns gut gefallen hat. Kostet natürlich auch etwas mehr. Verbesserungsvorschläge: - die Duschen am Strand wären besser mit einem zusätzlichen Schlauch um den Sand von Füßen, Beinen etc zu entfernen. Mit dem Duschkopf oben bekommt man das nicht weg. Vor allem wenn man ein kleines Kind dabei hat, an dem der ganze Sand klebt. - Die Steckdosen im Zimmer sind ungünstig, neben der Steckdose ist direkt ein Lichtschalter, mit EU Adapter kann man diese Steckdosen nicht nutzen da der Lichtschalter blockiert, somit bekommt die Steckdose keinen Strom. Meine Empfehlung, installiert Steckdosen mit USB Spots die sind international und können von jedem genutzt werden. Wir haben zum Laden die Badezimmer Steckdose genutzt, da alle anderen Lichtschalter nebendran hatten. - Die Strandverkäufer sind übrigens ultra nervig, bestimmt 40 Stück täglich die dort herumlaufen. Sogar während einer Strandhochzeit sind die dort herumgelaufen, das sollte Riu verbieten.
