Pros: Great staff! very helpful, they went above and beyond! Isabel and Christin(concierge) were amazing to work with! The rooms were clean and housekeeping was great! Cons: The food was horrible at the buffets. I got indigestion after my first meal. Fusion was the only restaurant with good food. The pools close early and not much to do for teens or adults! the beach had a lot of seaweed so made it hard for good photos.

The resort itself is pretty and the layout is nice. Mangrove was beautiful and the beach cabana day was honestly the best experience and best food we had the entire trip. Roberto on the Preferred side was one of the few employees who actually stood out. Other than that, nothing about the resort was really memorable in a good way. The food was very average resort food. Anything freshly made was usually decent, especially the omelets at breakfast on the newer Preferred side, but the food sitting out was rough. Definitely get food made fresh whenever you can. Also, hibachi doesn’t come with shrimp sauce Housekeeping was awful. Our room floor was dirty when we arrived and one of the beds had chewing gum stuck to the top duvet right on the edge of the bed. We removed the blanket ourselves and set it aside so it was obvious not to use it, and housekeeping literally put the same blanket back on the bed afterward. After that, we stopped letting housekeeping in the room for the rest of the trip. Room service was painfully slow and weirdly inconvenient. You have to download an app just to look at the menu, then still call to order it. Felt very backward. The resort overall felt poorly managed. We never once saw a supervisor or manager checking on guests. They were also super strict about people being wet near the Portofino outdoor seating area and wouldn’t let you bring plates back to Bali beds or rooms. Bartenders on the newer Preferred side were hit or miss. Some were nice. Some acted annoyed you existed. Overall, the resort was fine, just very mediocre. Pretty property, average experience. This place is a 3 star hotel any day of the week. Only stay here if it’s the best price.

Our family of four (two daughters ages 11 and 13) returned to Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana for five nights in October 2026, and we had an incredible experience! The weather was perfect, and the resort was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. We’ve stayed at multiple Dreams Resorts in Mexico (Cancun and Tulum), and this one was by far the best. FOOD – The food was consistently fresh and delicious across all restaurants, and there were plenty of spots to grab a drink throughout the day. We did not pay for the Preferred upgrade, which offers additional dining options, but honestly never felt we were missing out. The World Café buffet, a Dreams signature, was smaller than others we’ve experienced—which we loved, as it didn’t feel like a crowded cafeteria. BEACH & POOLS – The beach was incredible! It’s huge, with plenty of shaded and sunny loungers always available. There’s a large stretch of soft sand before the water begins—perfect for playing or relaxing. The water was shallow, warm, and clean, and staff worked diligently to clear seaweed each morning. You can walk for miles in either direction, and while beach vendors regularly approached us, they were never bothersome. We also appreciated that the beach was well-lit at night, which added both ambiance and security. The multiple pool options were equally great—clean, warm, and never overcrowded. ENTERTAINMENT – The nightly entertainment was fun and varied. The main shows began at 9pm, but there were always opening acts and interactive performances starting around 8pm. Daily activities were plentiful for all ages. HOTEL – While there was some ongoing construction, it was never disruptive. The resort’s size (about 350 rooms) was ideal—easy to navigate, and no need for elevators. We also appreciated that staff were friendly and professional without being pushy about upgrades or timeshare presentations. TRANSFERS – We booked private airport transfers directly through HQT and highly recommend them—affordable, safe, reliable, and seamless from start to finish. AIRPORT – The Punta Cana Airport was a pleasant surprise: small, uncrowded, and easy to navigate. Overall, beautiful core memories were made at this gem of a resort. We can’t wait to return for a third time! 🌴

I stayed for five days starting on June 25th 2026. On my first day in the preferred lounge I met bartender Juan Jose. He made my trip amazing from just his great energy. He made me feel at home and created the best drinks for me. He was so welcoming and just a joy to be around. The food on the resort was the best I’ve had on a resort because it’s hard to cook for so many people but the food was good. Portofino restaurant was like family though. The service and vibes were amazing. There energy helped us have a great meal and enjoyable time. Hansel, Daily, Jose, Marcelo (the man!!) and Raul were great!! They treated me like royalty every time they saw me for breakfast or dinner. They all were amazing and Ana as well. I have been to several resorts now and this one is top of the line especially if you’re on the preferred side. It felt like we had the pool and bar to ourselves. Will definitely be back!!! Omar

We have been to other great resorts in the area but the staff in this resort particularly went above and beyond. I would like to mention an absolute privilege to have been greeted every morning, and whenever we went back to the Italian buffet, Nelson Mandela who made my daughter feel very special. Also my personal favourite bar tender by the pool who was my translator and teacher as I’m trying to learn Spanish, Milagros. With her professionalism and skills, she belongs in a high place. Thank you for such a great experience!

My family and I stayed at Dreams Royal Beach, and we would like to highlight the outstanding service we received from Chailin at both the buffet and Fusion Restaurant. She is an incredibly cheerful, kind, and charismatic young lady whose smile reflects and spreads happiness to every guest she meets. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel welcome. She even invited us to try the welcome drink, sake, and recommended the best menu options based on our preferences. She was always attentive to our needs and made sure we were served promptly, without long waiting times. Her positive energy, warm personality, and genuine commitment to providing exceptional service made our experience at Dreams even more special. Employees like Chailin truly make a difference and leave a lasting impression on guests.
