Noticeable drop in premium feel. We have been there a few times before and the amenity and benefits package used to be outstanding but they seem to have been cutting cost. Will put review as pros and cons. Pros Restaurants. Both food and staff still awesome there. Smooth check in as always. Beach and boat house world class Cons They have downgraded a lot of what was included in the premium welcome amenity kit fragipani suites ( including no butler service and removal of a number of items) Only main restaurant included despite fragipani suite as it's supposedly mauritian rate while benefits should come with the room not rate. They did finally allow us for the Indian restaurant but it took a lot of calls and emails, and therefore wasting energy. No heated pool. Pool was always heated before and we did ask by phone if it would be, but it wasn't heated for even one second. They did try to give us one ammenity back but the call from the manager was unpleasant and overly long for what was a short stay. Would be difficult to return there now, especially considering the price.

Lo Shangri-La è davvero speciale, soprattutto grazie al suo servizio eccezionale. Ogni singolo membro del personale è stato superlativo, facendosi sempre in quattro per sorprenderci con cura e attenzione. Il resort in sé è un'oasi di pace e bellezza, il che lo rende assolutamente degno delle sue 5 stelle. L'unica nota stonata è stata la qualità del cibo nel ristorante principale, decisamente nella media e non all'altezza del resto dell'esperienza. Ciò detto, consiglierei comunque caldamente questa struttura. Ci siamo stati a giugno, che in Mauritius corrisponde all'inverno. Di conseguenza il resort non era al completo, il che ha reso il nostro soggiorno ancora più tranquillo e confortevole. Consiglio per i viaggiatori: Se viaggiate a giugno, portate una giacca leggera per la sera. Una volta tramontato il sole, inizia a fare piuttosto fresco ed è ventilato.

Overall review: 4* Firstly - the Shangri-La in Mauritius is a lovely resort. Spacious rooms, idyllic balcony views, mouth-watering food selection and friendly staff. You should absolutely consider it for your next holiday to Mauritius. The rooms in particular are stunning; waking up to the Shangri-La private beach on your doorstep and a world-class breakfast buffet awaiting you is truly one of the pleasures of life. On top of that - the gym ranks among the best hotel gyms I’ve visited; the activity selection for kids (and adults) is excellent. A special shout-out to the staff members who made our trip particularly memorable: Lindlay on the concierge desk - always smiling, full of energy and always prepared to drop everything he’s doing to make your needs a priority Parwez at the front of the hotel - very friendly and a great conversationalist who can offer you all the Mauritius travel and excursion advice you need Hans on the concierge desk - service with a smile and will make sure you get to where you need to go on time without delay Jauhan on Ile Mangénie - generous and thoughtful and will make sure all your needs are catered to Ponnen in Coco’s Beach House - goes out of his way to cater to any special requests and will make sure you leave every meal full and smiling They are all excellent ambassadors of the Shangri-La brand; there are so many others that I also could have mentioned. There are however some minor teething issues with the hotel which - if resolved - could turn our “very good” holiday into a “perfect” holiday: (i) Wi-Fi quality - the hotel advertises fast Wi-Fi however we had some issues maintaining a strong connection from our room - particularly for group video calls. To their credit, the hotel staff made every attempt to help us resolve this - however their efforts were ultimately fruitless. I’m prepared to believe it may just have been our room/section of the hotel but the issue was more challenging at peak times and I would expect this to not be an issue at 5* hotel brands (ii) Massage therapists - they are absolutely lovely and make every effort to ensure your needs are catered to. However the massage therapists I tried (for transparency, I tried two) are trained differently to, for example, therapists in Thailand or Asia more broadly - and are not as effective in applying pressure to knead knots and relax tight tissues. For a light pressure relaxation their massages are more than fine. Once again the staff are fantastic and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable (iii) Miscellaneous furnishings - I’m being picky here (the hotel is modern and well-furnished) but there are a handful of features that could do with an upgrade - among them the dated coir doormats and the room door handles which are stiff and fiddly Overall - thank you to a brilliant team for a lovely stay

The Shangri-La resort became our favorite place in the world to relax and enjoy the sea. We visited for 7 nights in late June, which is winter and off-season but for us was the perfect time. Temperature was about 26C and mostly sunny with the occasional 10 min showers. The resort was not empty yet due to the vastness of spaces you feel like you have your own private island. This especially true on their private island,where we went daily to enjoy the beach. The beach services there were 10/10, Juahan took very good care of us every single day. We enjoyed an upgrade to the Frangipani Junior Suite which meant we could enjoy the sunrise over the ocean from our bed. Another benefit was havin breakfast on the beach at Coco's beach house. We tried all the item s and everything was delicious, a must try are the Benedict and the Shangri-La bowl. Another highlight for us was how great their Kids Club program is. All the staff there are super friendly and have prepared a selection of amazing activities for kids. Our 7y son had golf, paddle and Kayak lessons plus night crab hunts. We cannot wait to comeback here as Shangri-La redefined what a vacation means for us.

A truly unforgettable escape at Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius 🌴✨ From the moment we arrived, everything felt like pure luxury. The breathtaking turquoise waters, pristine beaches, and serene atmosphere create the perfect island paradise. The rooms are beautifully designed with stunning ocean views, offering both comfort and elegance. What stood out the most was the exceptional service — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The dining experience was equally impressive, with a variety of delicious cuisines that made every meal memorable. A highlight of the stay was access to the exclusive Île aux Cerfs, a dreamlike island with crystal-clear waters and picture-perfect scenery. If you’re looking for a destination that combines relaxation, beauty, and world-class hospitality, this is definitely the place to be. Highly recommended for a luxurious getaway 💙
