We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beachfront hotel! The location is perfect, right by the sea, with a large and beautiful swimming pool that made our days even more relaxing. The rooms are spacious, stylish, and very comfortable. The gym is also well equipped, which was a great bonus. As for the food, it was excellent — especially the fresh fish, which was simply delicious. The menu offers a great variety of both local and Western dishes, so there’s something for everyone. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the impeccable service. The staff is incredibly friendly, kind, and always ready to help with a smile. A special thank you to Ruchira, who was amazing with our children — he made them laugh and even introduced them to cricket, which they absolutely loved! We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely come back again.

We were on a Sri Lankan tour and stayed at malu malu for 3 nights. It was an awesome experience with one of the most beautiful views and a pristine beach. As you enter the property, you see the gorgeous view with the pool then the beach. It was a hot summer day in high 90’s when we got there. First thing you see is the view, which sets the tone. The staff were awesome, very welcoming and helpful. We got the attic room and a full board package for the family. As for the food it was good but I would have preferred a more variety. Probably should have gone with a half board and gone out for local restaurants. Room was a bit cramped and also didn’t have a direct view of the ocean. None of the rooms have a direct view of the ocean. I would wake up everyday early morning and watch the sunrise and would take a walk on the beach. It’s a beautiful sunrise and morning walk. Loved walking on the beach. The beach in front of the hotel is pristine, warm water and shallow. Overall it was a great experience.

The team is incredibly polite, attentive, and always one step ahead of your needs without ever being intrusive. It truly felt like being looked after by family. Passikudah’s turquoise waters and pristine beach are already a dream setting, and Malu Malu makes the most of every inch of it. The property itself is beautifully maintained, and the overall ambiance strikes the perfect balance between luxury and laid-back coastal charm. What sets this place apart is not just the stunning location or the beautiful rooms — it’s the people. The staff go above and beyond expectations at every turn, making sure every guest feels like a VIP. Whether it was a simple request or a special arrangement, nothing was ever too much trouble. If you are looking for the best hotel experience Sri Lanka has to offer, look no further than Malu Malu, Passikudah. I will absolutely be returning, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. A hidden gem that deserves every star and more!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Maalu Maalu Resort in Pasikudah. The resort opens up to an amazing view, but the absolute highlight was the ocean itself. The sea here is remarkably flat, shallow, and calm—it felt exactly like a massive natural swimming pool, and we ended up spending hours in the water enjoying it. A few special shoutouts to the staff who took such great care of us: Tanzil at the White Sands restaurant for the fantastic service and dining experience. Yogeshwari for being incredibly kind, attentive, and making us feel so welcome throughout our stay. Chamara for handling all of our bookings so smoothly and making the entire process completely hassle-free. A beautiful property with a great vibe and a stellar team.

We had a really enjoyable stay here. The hotel was very clean and well maintained, and the beach was one of the highlights of our trip. It was clean, peaceful, and our baby absolutely loved playing in the sand. The pool was large, the rooms were comfortable, and the whole atmosphere was very relaxing. After a busy and stressful time at work, this was exactly the kind of getaway we needed. What made the biggest difference was the staff. Every single person we met was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurant staff were especially wonderful with our baby and happily helped with every little request we had, which we really appreciated as parents. We have stayed at several hotels in the Thema Hotels chain, and this was easily our favourite overall. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable.

A long awaited destination. We were warmly welcomed by the hotel with flower garlands and check in process was quick. Served with a nice welcome drink (Kinda slushie). Rooms were fqcilitated with all basic amenities and equipped with a very spacious bathroom and a nice balcony with pool/beach view. They have one of the nicest swimming pool overlooking breathtaking eastern beach and sea. The beach also nice and clean. Buffet was served for both dinner and breakfast. One thing I have noticed that the food were less spicy than usual. I am a spicy food lover and others may have no issue with that. Buffet spread was average. Had a very nice time enjoying the sea breeze. Staff is kind and attentive. Special thanks must go to Mr. Thilan and Mr. Siddikiya at hotel front office.
