Wow! What an experience we had at Amba Yaalu. I stayed in this lovely hotel on a recent cricket tour and my expectations were exceeded, the staff were so lovely and tended to our every need. The rooms were always tidy, the air conditioning was amazing, and the restaurant catered to our requests exceptionally. As for the amazing views, Amba Yaalu should definitely be on your list to visit if you're ever in Dambulla. The pool was a personal highlight of mine - being surrounded by Mango trees. Funnily enough even the thunderstorms were enjoyable here. Thanks heaps to the team here your outstanding hospitality, we all felt so welcome :)

Thank you for a wonderful stay! Truly beautiful views and all staff are so welcoming and helpful. Food was delicious and rooms were comfortable and clean. Such an amazing concept of a fully female team! We can't wait to come back again, hopefully for a longer stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. A special thank you to Sithumi, the naturalist, who made our experience even more memorable. She explained so much about the hotel, its surroundings, and the local nature in an interesting and engaging way. Her knowledge and passion added a unique touch to our stay. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Our stay at Amba Yaalu, Kandalama was truly one of the most relaxing and enjoyable hotel experiences we've had. What makes this property even more special is that it is entirely run by women, and that spirit is reflected in every aspect of the hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left, every member of the team, across all departments, was warm, attentive, friendly, and thoroughly professional. Their genuine care and pride in what they do made us feel welcome and completely at ease. The leadership was equally impressive. There was a clear sense of purpose, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of both the local community and the team behind the scenes. It was evident that the staff were valued and empowered, creating a positive atmosphere that naturally extended to every guest. The service was never forced or scripted—it was sincere, thoughtful, and consistently excellent. Every interaction reflected a team that enjoys what they do and works together with confidence and pride. Amba Yaalu is much more than a beautiful place to stay. It is a wonderful example of how strong leadership, teamwork, and genuine hospitality can create an unforgettable guest experience. We left feeling refreshed, well cared for, and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at Amba Yaalu Kandalama as a family of five. We stayed in the Pavati Suite, which was spacious and very comfortable for our family. The rooms and bathrooms were exceptionally clean and tidy, and the view from our room was breathtaking. The location is beautiful, right next to Kandalama Lake and surrounded by mountains and nature. What made our stay truly special was the exceptional service and warmth of the staff. Everyone was friendly, caring, and welcoming. When we were leaving, the staff came out to bid us goodbye, and even the Resort Manager, Jeewanthi, personally helped us load our luggage into the car. Even our children noticed and appreciated that special touch. A special mention must go to Sithumi, the naturalist. She is a real asset to the hotel. Her passion and enthusiasm for what she does were clearly evident, and we had a wonderful time with her. The only area we feel could be improved is the buffet selection and overall food quality. A wider spread and some improvement in the food would make the experience even better. Overall, we had a memorable stay and would definitely come back.

We were impressed right from the time we checked-in because Melisha took great care of us to ensure the whole day is perfect for us. We booked 2 rooms for 3 of us and both rooms were fantastic. Melisha personally brought us to the 2 rooms and followed up with us on every occasion to check if we needed anything. The rest of the staff were all good in all the other areas as well. Sithumi did an excellent nature tour for us.
