Rooms are old and not as taken care of. Shower area floosa easily because the tile tilting is not towars the drain. The doors are not fully sealed and you can hear any noise ( including ocean waves) into your room. The toilet hand shower is really old and cheap looking but the water pressure is amazing. The beds are very soft and ended up waking up with bad back ach. Also both pillows are soft which turned my neck to a stiff. Only after i complained about both pillows being soft, the rep said that hard pillows are available upon request.. should not be the case, or at least should mention the availability upon checking in. The charging plugs are loose and do not work all the time. Amazing beach front and amenities plus gaming area like ping pong. Hats down to their breakfast buffet. Those chefs reallt know how to create amazing flavors and dishes!!! Staff overall is very accommodating and helpful but for what you get as a room, it is waaaay overpriced in my opinion. Araliya has way higher standards and quality rooms and they are not as tight, for half of the price!!! I don't think i am going to consider this Marriot again

My boyfriend and I had a truly memorable stay at Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa. We often stay at Marriott hotels, but this property really stood out and is definitely one we will always remember and return to. From checkin until the end of our stay, we were very well taken care of. All the staff were warm, attentive, welcoming, and professional. Thinent was especially wonderful he explained all the activities we could enjoy during our stay and provided top notch service. His kindness and hospitality made our experience extra special, and he is one of the main reasons we would love to come back. Our room was spacious, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had a breathtaking million dollar ocean view. The resort itself is beautiful, relaxing, and very well maintained, with excellent facilities and a perfect beachfront location. We also enjoyed dinner at Big Fish, where we had the delicious Surf & Turf platter with wine included. The price was very reasonable for the quality and generous portions. The breakfast buffet was also excellent, with plenty of local and international choices. The exceptional service, wonderful staff, beautiful facilities, delicious food, and incredible views made our stay unforgettable. We can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

If you are looking for a luxurious resort in the Weligama Bay area, this is the one you should book. From the moment we checked in until check-out, everything went smoothly. The breakfast buffet was amazing, featuring a variety of distinct culinary experiences. The rooms were spotless and exceptionally luxurious. The beach, although a bit wavy, gave us a great opportunity to try surfing. Overall, it was a dream stay. Our personal butler, Nishadi, went above and beyond every day—guiding us throughout our stay and offering fantastic recommendations for spa treatments and activities.

We originally booked a 3-night stay at the Marriott Weligama but ended up extending for another 3 nights because we enjoyed it so much. The location is fantastic, with beautiful views and easy access to the beach. Our room was spacious, comfortable and impeccably maintained. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve experienced, with an incredible variety of fresh, high-quality food to suit every taste. What really made our stay exceptional, however, was the staff. Every member of the team was warm, professional and genuinely committed to making our stay memorable. A special thank you to Randula and Jake. Jake looked after us every day, regularly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, and nothing was ever too much trouble. That level of personal service made us feel truly valued as guests. We had such a wonderful experience that extending our stay was an easy decision. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Marriott Weligama and look forward to returning in the future.

I had an amazing one-night stay at Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment we arrived until the time we checked out, every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome. The gentleman who handled our check-in was incredibly professional, friendly, and efficient. Unfortunately, I forgot his name, but he truly made a wonderful first impression and deserves recognition for his outstanding hospitality. A special thank you to Lakeesha and Fayas from the restaurant. Their service was exceptional—warm, attentive, and always delivered with a smile. They went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable. The swimming pool is fantastic, the food is outstanding with a great variety, and the overall atmosphere of the resort is luxurious, relaxing, and beautifully maintained. Thank you to the entire Marriott team for such a memorable stay. I highly recommend Weligama Bay Marriott Resort & Spa to anyone looking for world-class hospitality in Sri Lanka. I look forward to returning again in the future!

Yesterday I visited this beautiful, clean hotel in the Weligama area to attend a birthday party. I had a wonderful time, and the view from the hotel was absolutely amazing. After the party, I was sitting in the lobby waiting area when my phone battery died. I asked one of the ladies at the front if there was anywhere I could charge my phone. Unfortunately, there was only a charging point without a USB-C cable. As I was walking away, she kindly asked one of her colleagues for help. He then asked another staff member, who generously offered me his own charger. It may have been a small problem, but the kindness and teamwork shown by these three staff members meant a lot to me. Unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to remember their names, but I would like to sincerely thank the wonderful lady at the reception and the two gentlemen who helped me. Great service isn't just about doing your job—it's about caring for people. I truly appreciate your kindness and hospitality. Thank you for making my visit even more memorable. Keep up the excellent work!
