Highly recommend booking an oceanfront bungalow. Amazing spot on the beach. There are only three in the entire hotel and they are booked up early. Go for it if you want the best beachfront experience on the island. We are from New York City. We loved the hotel. It’s well reported that at low tide you’re not going in the sea. It’s the type of property that you are not traveling around to different restaurants. Be prepared to sit back and enjoy it. Everyone was very friendly and the food was surprisingly good.. this is a low rise laid-back blush experience that feels authentic to the island. I can’t speak for the normal rooms. I’ll leave that to others.

Great Hotel with excellent food and service. Facilities are great, outdoor sports, pool and yoga available! Taking one star away for the poor WiFi connection.

Very helpful and friendly service, and they are available all day for any thing you need. The only problem was our room...we had booked a family room on Booking.com, but instead of giving us the room, they gave us a standard room (which of course couldn't suit our needs as it was too small.), so we requested a bigger room, and they managed to find one for us. We thank them for managing to find us a family room, but I am still wondering why they never gave it to us in the first place..They have good food, and a nice breakfast menu. I really like the fact that every day it's a new breakfast buffet so it gives many options if you didn't like yesterday's breakfast. Lovely views too of the hotel. It was constructed very nicely, especially with the nature in mind. The beaches though aren't that great. Filled with sea urchins so it's virtually impossible to swim in them. It was a decent experience staying here. Although some improvements could be made, especially considering the prices per night.

I loved everything about our stay here and months later, I’m still dreaming about the fantastic seafood - the best I’ve had on the island so far 😍 the staff is so super friendly, the beds comfortable, everything super clean and I just felt really winding down and relaxing during my stay. My nervous system and my mind never circled back to work and we were super sad to leave when we had to. Cannot recommend enough!! 😍😍😍

Heavenly oasis, earthly paradise I spent four wonderful days at the Zanzibar Queen Hotel as the last stop of my trip, and although this accommodation was the cheapest, it resulted in an unexpectedly positive surprise. It's hard to put the experience into words. It was fantastic. Every staff member welcomed me with such deep warmth that it would be good to highlight each of them by name! Genuine, heartfelt smiles, loving cheerfulness, politeness, and helpfulness. I can't express my gratitude for their kindness in words. I am very grateful, thank them so much. I was moved to tears upon when I had to back home. The hotel is simply exquisite, like a paradise on earth or a heavenly oasis, and it has everything one could desire. Two beautiful, clean pools, beach and poolside sun loungers, hammocks, soccer and volleyball courts, a children's playground, trampoline, garden games. Bicycles are freely available for use. The rooms are super spacious, with comfortable beds, elegant bathrooms, and well-equipped with tea and coffee makers. The breakfast is so varied in its buffet selection that even if one stays for a week, they can eat something new every day, including vegetarian options. Fresh fruits, salads, vegetables, and fish and meat dishes are freely available. Moreover, when I requested a takeaway breakfast due to my early morning departure, I received a generous breakfast packed in three professionally wrapped plastic boxes and protective bags, including fresh fruit and freshly baked tortilla wraps. As part of the half-board service, the dinners offered such an à la carte selection and quality that it would have been a credit to a Michelin-rated restaurant. I found no words; everything was so impressively delicious. One evening, we could participate in a live music barbecue party, and on another occasion, we could watch a Maasai show. On my last day, organized by the hotel, I was able to admire the marine life of the reef at Matemwe beach, which will remain an unforgettable experience despite my knee surgery three months ago. Thank you so very much! In summary, I can hardly wait to return.

Let's start with the team and management. Fantastic, customer-oriented, helpful, and super friendly. Terrific. The hotel's location is great, and the facilities offer everything you need. The food and drinks are of a very high standard. When we were there, the hotel was undergoing construction. Even though they tried to do this with as little disruption to guests as possible, we were a little disappointed at first. But Darek, the manager, responded superbly and made our stay truly unforgettable. Thanks again for that, and to the entire team! It was an unforgettable stay at the hotel.
