Pros- location and spacious than other NYC hotels. Really great service from most employees. Toiletries smelled really nice. Cons- receptionist this morning 2/17 was very awkward and abruptly asked us to check out. We were leaving anyway but the interaction was uncomfortable. This was odd as the rest of the hotel staff was the complete opposite and very welcoming. The hotel won’t warn you about policies important to them until you check out, not before you check in. As a guest, I don’t intentionally want to break policy and a warning or notice would have been sufficient and helpful to both parties. Communication should have been their priority especially if it’s a policy not advertised very well. Ordered avocado toast for room service too. Toast was burnt. I asked for egg whites and they gave me eggs that had a slight yellow tint to them. I wonder if they accidentally put the yolk and tried to take it out? When you see stuff like this you understand why people with allergies have a hard time eating out.

the whole point of our staying here is to use the rooftop pool, but it closes at 2pm on sat and 4p today. Whats the point? We wanted to use the pool on a hot day after walking in soho and GV. This is false advertising. It should say limited use of rooftop pool which closes at 4p and 2p.

There was literally hair and a stain in my fridge when I arrived! I spoke with the concierge before arrival and set up a car, and when I arrived they were confused and I ended up taking cabs. The staff was nice, but didn’t coordinate with each other so I had to repeat everything I wanted or needed any time a new staff member was on shift. It was a mess. I would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND this hotel to anyone that wants a nice stay.

This is a Travelodge masquerading as a 4 star hotel. This is my second stay at Modernhaus and after this stay, I wouldn't stay here even if it were free. Both stays, our room had signs of not being cleaned. Theres is construction, starting at 7AM, right below outside our room and this was never disclosed before our stay. There is also a precinct around the corner so expect to hear sirens all night. While these factors are out of their control, everything in this hotel is noisy and outdated. Rusty pipes, room doors without soft-close doors, and pillows from the 90's made our stay uncomfortable and unpleasant. Room service charges $5 for deliveries plus a 20% charge, not including tip. We booked through Amex and they also refused us later checkout time. The satff, overall, was pleasant and helpful but this hotel sucks.

Had an incredible massage by William Rojas from Haus of Glow. Accommodated a later time after long travel biz week. He is skilled and truly understands the body mechanics and issues I had. What a pro! Highly recommended!

We chose this hotel as we wanted to stay somewhere local without being in the centre of the hubbub of Times Square - and what a great choice we made! The room was lovely and clean and true to size from the photos online. The view was also really nice which was an added bonus. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful with any queries we had. We didn’t get to visit the rooftop bar and at the time of our visit in November, the hotel’s main restaurant was under refurbishment. Would definitely stay here again next time we visit NYC!
