I am so disappointed from this property. I stayed for 4 days and here is my experience. First day I was assigned to a room with noisy AC. I complained the second day and I was asked to move to a different room because it can not be fixed right away. I accepted that but I was hoping that they will help me to move in to the second room but they didn’t offer help. Honestly if the story ends here then no big deal but in my last night there was peeping sound from the alarm at 4 AM that I can’t sleep when it is on. I talked to them and after 30 min the guy showed up to replace it. If the story is ends here, I will let it go but I didn’t expect at all that there is no sincere apology! I was expecting that we are so sorry for inconvenience for your stay but I swear to god they didn’t apologize which all I wanted to hear. Really disappointing Overall review: Cleanees Bathrooms are clean but room carpets are not and so old. Room equipment: Refrigerator is so full and it is so small with there mini bar space to store anything + no microwave location In front of subway so it is good Pricing: I booked from their website and it shows a price that says this price is inclusive but I was charged 200$ more because they say it is property fees ( 50$ per day). Despite I should the to reception that the price is inclusive they said the property fees are not showing. Final recommendation, I may pay slightly more to go a different facility. My motive to write down this review is because I was expecting them to apologize to me for this inconvenience ( changing room and alam sounding and time to fix it but unfortunately they didn’t so I pissed off and I strongly believe I should get an apology)

BEST HOTEL IN NEW YORK CITY! We had a fairytale weekend thanks to the Smyth!!!! Favorite Hotel in New York City!!!! Responsive, communicative, and overall so great start to finish!!!! We got married at Tribeca Rooftop, but used the Smyth as our headquarters for family and friends. We stayed in regular rooms the week leading up to our wedding and switched to the Penthouse the night before. The night before, we got late night drinks following our rehearsal dinner (Locanda Verde) at the bar downstairs -- Galerie -- with all our guests. It was a highlight. I believe the Bride's father was there every night with an entourage. The Bride as able to invite her hair and makeup to the room for each day. Guests loved the food and room service from the Tavern downstairs. On the day of our wedding, the bride got ready with 20+ people in the penthouse. There was hair and makeup, catering, and so much love!! The pictures from the terrace were STUNNING. The next day, we celebrated a day after brunch at the Smyth Tavern. Following, the groom invited his friends to watch football in the Penthouse to continue the celebrations. Staff was accomodating, professional, and beyond considerate. We never had issues with cleanliness or promptness. Rooms and accomodations were beyond exceptional! It was our dream wedding weekend and it wouldn't have been that way without the Smyth. They were the center of it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. DON'T THINK TWICE!!!!!

Great Location and reasonably good service, but not at the standard of other Preferred Hotels, I have stayed at. The lobby is non-existent, although there is a lounge you can use (it was blocked off for a private event one of the evenings we were there). No turn down service. It took them forever to get us extra bath towels after repeated requests. Reception staff was very friendly and room was spacious, which we were thankful for.

$700+/night?! Dirty room carpets, no coffee machines, bed side outlets connected to the light switch?! (re: phone doesn’t charge at night), bathroom auto light switch?! (re: turns fully on when enter at night), neighboring doors slamming (re: doors with no soft close), almost none re:outside noise insulation. I hoped it was just my bad experience, but management confirmed the owners visited the hotel couple weeks prior my stay and apparently planned on changing “things”. Great location, but why charging so much for so little?

When I made the booking, I called the hotel from overseas, requesting a birthday note and a small bottle of prosecco in the room, as it was my husband’s 40th birthday that we came there for. Stuff confirmed on the phone that they would arrange that. Upon arriving, there was nothing in the room. I reminded that stuff and they said they will arrange something before we come back to the hotel in the afternoon. We came back, there was still nothing in the room. I reminded them again, they said they will arrange and double check with the house keeping. Day after still nothing. I gave up and was very disappointed. On the day of our departure, they didn’t ask how was our stay. Nothing. The hotel rooms are very comfortable otherwise and we were very happy accept the service. Don’t expect much from them. But hotel is really good otherwise.

Stayed at this place for 3 days. Was given a room on the second floor. It was too close to the street level and it was difficult to to sleep due to the noise level. There is a constant stream of traffic going by especially garbage trucks at all hours of the day. The room is clean but the water pressure is not ideal and can be improved. The location is good.
