As our taxi driver shared with us, you need to find a Jamaican resort that suits you. Round Hill suited my wife and I perfectly -- 110 acres of quiet beauty with multiple nooks to find rest and renewal. It's a unique property in the Caribbean. And the people! That's what makes all the difference. Sure, anyone can nitpick little things (yes, the rooms could be more soundproof; and there are young children), but the genuine hospitality of the staff coupled with the heritage-feeling of the resort create an absolutely perfect "home." Quiet setting. Beautiful walks. Delicious food. Smiling, devoted resort employees. This place is one of a kind. We met a couple from Denmark who have been coming for 30+ years. We would love to do the same thing.

Want a terrible experince in Jamaica? Go to Round Hill ! See the pictures for what 950 bucks a night gets you at this sewer of a hotel. We booked through Amex Fine Hotels as we have booked many amazing hotels over 15 years. It was just two of us so we booked a room, (not a villa) in the Pineapple House. We booked the highest category with an oceanfront room. Upon checking in we asked the bellman where the drawers were for our clothes. He showed us dirty wicker baskets and said this is where we were to put 6 days of clothes. Because there is a dress code at dinner we had several outfits per day packed and there was no way I was living out of a suitcase for almost a week on a vacation. The room was filthy. Mold in the sink and tub (and on a chair) and a line of ants marching across the bathtub. It was stifling hot even though the air conditioning was on and the floor had bits and pieces of debris along with hair. The towel bar was pulling out of the wall. We asked the reception for another room with drawers at which point they told me the only rooms that have drawers are the three bedroom villas and that would be another 4,000 on top of the 5K. For 6 days for two people. By the way this is NOT all inclusive. When I asked about the upgrade with Fine Hotels program (a perk), they said, no that we had the highest category before a villa. When I said we would have to leave they said they would keep my entire 6 day stay. I explained that wasn’t really fair since the photos on the website do not portray the room accurately and there isn’t a place for our clothing. They said they would speak to the manager who conveniently wasn’t there at that time. So we had to wait. Several hours. And when it started getting towards dinner time (with us sitting in the sitting hot open air lobby) I knew we would have to stay the night because we were running out of time to get a hotel and transportation etc. When I mentioned to them that we needed to make a decision they said, “well you might as well stay since we will be charging you for tonight.” We went back to the room and started to make calls. I was able to secure a reservation at Half Moon-which was fabulous. The room was so hot and the island crickets were deafening. As it turns out there was NO GLASS ON SEVERAL OF THE DOOR PANELS. Yes, that’s right. Just wooden louvers on the door to a first floor room where a mom and daughter were supposed to sleep. Anyone could have walked down the beach and kicked in the louvers. Not to mention it was like stifling hot and loud from the crickets. Literally so ridiculous that when I tell this story to my traveling friends they can’t believe it. The door to the room was super flimsy with a silly lock and I piled our luggage against it as well as moved a chair against the back door with no glass. As you can see the oceanfront view was a joke and the patio furniture was from the another century. Who wants to have a cup of coffee in the morning sitting on a splinter staring at tree branches? Not me! That cup of coffee to clear your head after not sleeping in an unsafe, dirty, hot room? Nope. The bag of coffee had turned bad and was bursting at the seams. This is your 5 star situation at Round Hill Jamaica. Don’t do it! The bright spot is we returned to Half Moon and had a fantastic time in a suite overlooking the ocean. Why didn’t we book Half Moon since we had been there previously? There was a big concert festival that was ending and Half Moon was booked solid. Toni Braxton and some of the other headliners were staying at Half Moon (not Round Hill) but they were checking out the day we escaped from Round Hill. When we checked in the gal at the desk said we were the fourth party that had left Round Hill! In the end American Express went to war for me so I only had to pay one night. But they charged me $950 for a night in a dirty dangerous room that I couldn’t close my eyes in.

So you through that drive from the airport was something to discuss. Hold that thought. The best is yet to come and the service and ambiance was definitely worth the wait. That welcome to drink and cold towel was definitely something only caring parents would think of. Where did my luggage go? No worries those luggage are already in your bedroom waiting for you: now that is excellent bell desk service.. Round Hill Hotel is on the ocean side with private villas and fabulous hotel block to suite your preference. I like the cosy room down the staircase to the left of the receptionist desk. It not quite a conference room but it definitely has that design and space for hosting your special or work place events. So you wanted to get married or celebrate an event. The gazebo or the beach has been the favorite for my pals Joan and Bruce . Ask about the local bread pudding or potato pudding, including the Red Forrest Cake and carrot cake. Did you know that the locals cook the carrots then, blend the carrots with that same water and they add a bit of the carrots roughage to the cake batter to give it that extra carrot taste. Also the same water used to cook the carrot is cooled then used in the carrot cake batter. Do give my compliments to the pastry chef. Round Hill Hotel and Villas is where you will taste real pastry, because the sugar is not the main ingredient in their pastry. GOLF LOVERS don't forget to get on the hotel shuttle to swing your club at nearby tryall golf course. I was glad that tipping was allowed. I left a few crisp USA note for my housekeeper, the Bell Hop and that hotel operator who I asked to ensure that I never overslept and missed my flight. The Villas are that home away from home paradise everyone keeps raving about. I definitely needed that quite space to write my manuscript. Josh my partner used the private space to run his company for two whole weeks, because we had personal cook housekeeper, gardener and nanny services we were pleased as can be. No the stay was not overly expensive. The service and facility matched our budget and pocket books thanks reservation Sales

With the Caribbean seas as a back drop this unique hotel and villa retreat is the ultimate destination for leisure lovers and CEO who wants the home away from home experience, while still running their organization or an entire country. The villas are nested into landscape and the occupant has personal housekeeper, cooks and gardener . Induge yourself and your family or have a business vacation at Round Hill Resort and Spa Hanover. The resort even offer shuttle service off site dining. Visit the casino in town and margarita ville.

I honestly do not understand the hype behind this place. For the amount you pay here — easily $100–150 per person depending on drinks and appetizers — the experience was shockingly bad from start to finish. I’ve genuinely received better customer service from Chick-fil-A and even McDonald’s. The service was one of the worst parts. Our salad came out completely dry with no dressing, and after trying multiple times to get someone’s attention, the staff either ignored us or acted annoyed that we were asking for basic things. It felt like once they dropped the food off, we no longer existed. Water glasses stayed empty, dirty plates sat on the table forever, and nobody checked on us. For a restaurant charging premium prices, you expect professionalism, attention to detail, and at least decent hospitality. Instead, the staff seemed disorganized, uninterested, and completely disconnected from the dining experience. The food itself was mediocre at best and definitely not worth the price point. They dont even fill your water unless you bug them I don’t mind paying for expensive meals when the quality and service match the cost, but this felt like paying luxury prices for fast-food level service — except somehow slower and less attentive. Extremely disappointing experience overall, and unfortunately not somewhere I would recommend or return to.

Truly a stunning place with some of the most outstanding customer service I’ve ever experienced. Our villa ( Villa 6) had Ms. Angela, and she is, without a doubt, one of the best people I’ve ever met. She takes care of everyone with such warmth, always wearing the most beautiful smile, and her kindness shines through in everything she does. Not to mention, she’s an incredible cook! I absolutely fell in love with Round Hill because of Ms. Angela and her amazing service, but even more because of her genuinely beautiful heart. Of course, the property itself is top-tier, the villas, the views, the food, the grounds, the pools, the facilities, ecen the way thr property us laid out...everything is breathtaking. But what truly sets this place apart is the level of care and hospitality. Thank you, Ms. Angela, for making our stay so unforgettable!
