The hotel is absolutely amazing. One of the best parts about it is that you have the boat pick you up at the lower level and take you to the private island. Right next to you is Starbucks and shopping. I love the turn down service at night where they leave you two chocolates in the evening. There is always music every evening leading to a lively environment, but not so loud that you cannot speak with the people that you’re with. The hotel staff are exceptional. They truly go above and beyond.

Just spent 3 nights here and it was nothing but amazing! The hotel is in downtown Oranjestad near the cruise ship port which means there’s many shops around, not to mention the Renaissance mall with luxury shops is attached to it. AUA airport is a 10 minute cab ride (~26 USD cash only) The room I had was a Deluxe King Atrium view in the Marina building (adults only). I’ve got not complaints and the room itself was spacious, new, and clean. I think it’s worth it to book this hotel as you get unlimited access to the Renaissance private island with the flamingos with a 10 minute boat ride from the hotel. You also get access to the Island Suite property (family-style, kid-friendly) with more pools and a wading saltwater pool. The staffs were friendly and pleasant. Special shoutout to Mavelle in the front desk (sorry I didn’t catch the spelling of her name) for assisting me in a lot of my requests. Also shoutout to Jonathan, the navigator, for assisting me in calling different dive shops for a last minute dive. I had the best time with the Mermaid Dive shop. Overall a great experience. I’m hoping to be back another time.

Wow!!! We stayed 5 nights and had an amazing trip. Arrived before check in time and was surprised our room was ready. The best part was the upgrade to an Ocean View. The hotel and staff really valued my platinum status. We had some very loud neighbors but the hotel staff handled it as best as the could. The pools at the Ocean Suites are beautiful. In early July, you dont need to get up super early to get chairs in the shade. You do need to be at the island by 930ish if you want shade. The island is amazing and beautiful. We did get a cabana and it was the highlight of our trip. William and Oscar at the pool bar took really good care of us. All bartenders did but remembered those two from a previous visit. The free buffet (due to status) was great. All the staff there went above and beyond. Everywhere I went, the staff thanked me for my loyalty. The service was top notch. Yulirca always had our room looking spot less (even with two teenagers). The ability to walk to dozens of restaurants is also a great feature. I already miss my view from our room and hope to return soon.

Solid 4-Star Stay with Great Perks, but Suites Need a Refresh We spent half of our 8-night Aruba trip at a modern Airbnb in Boca Catalina and the other half at the Renaissance. While we preferred the modern setup and beach at Boca Catalina, the Renaissance is a good resort if you know what to expect. What fell short: The Room: Our 1-bedroom ocean view family suite had a good layout but felt very dated and had a distinct musty smell. The Beach: There is no "real" beach on-property. Snorkeling at Flamingo Island is also pretty poor—you are strictly visiting for the flamingos. What we loved: Elite Recognition: Excellent Titanium perks, including early check-in and breakfast. Pool & Events: Easy to find pool chairs, and the resort hosted fun lobby cocktail hours and a s'mores and wine night. Amenities: The gym is updated. Parking is free, and the resort provides reserved guest spots so you don't have to battle the public crowd. Location: Very convenient and within walking distance to the marketplace and top downtown restaurants.

Stayed here the first time on our honeymoon and have visited once since. Loved this hotel, the opened lobby area, pool, and views of the Caribbean Ocean. Everyone was so nice and hospitable both times we visited. The staff spoke fluent English as well as a variety of other languages. Loved the walking proximity to local shops, downtown, the marina, and the mall! The boat ride to Renaissance Island/Flamingo Beach was so much fun as well.

We stayed one night (Marina/adult side) for the sole purpose of going to Flamingo Island, which was absolutely wonderful, beautiful beach and such a memorable experience. The hotel on the other hand was not worth the hefty price tag. Parking is an outdoor lot about a block away. The lobby is designed to be esthetically pleasing, open to the outside, but it gets very hot and humid if you spend any amount of time there. The room - 6th floor Marina view, is also lovely but has some design flaws - barn door to the entire bath area would roll open after closing it, doesn't stay closed. No fan in the shower area, a mirror over the vanity that looks like it should light but doesn't, and a barn door that covers each half of the closet/coffee bar area, only one side had a light switch so the closet stayed lit all night - note there was the barn door that wouldn't stay shut - we had to push a towel under it. The worst though was the pool, which had a row of shiny marble-looking tile around it that was very slippery. Lots of warning signs which is a red flag. I took 3 steps - very carefully mind you - and fell flat and hard. Again I can't speak to the Ocean Hotel as we didn't go there, but beware the pool area of the Marina Hotel. We noticed quite a number of near misses/slips after my faceplant.
