Very good stay here. The hotel is in a great location right in the old town. Our room was a little small but this was absolutely fine for our short stay. Loved the water service and candy in the late afternoon. The bar looked great, but I'm afraid the smell of cigar smoke put us from drinking here. One of the highlights was the guy meeting us when we returned back to the hotel. Unfortunately, I forgot his name, but he had a trainee badge on. He was welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and very friendly. If staying in Riga for a few days, I would thoroughly recommend staying here.

Really TERRIBLE service. I booked a table for Christmas Eve in their restaurant. On the 15th of December they’ve sent me an email saying they have to cancel the reservation… They did not offer any solutions. So I told them to find a solution because finding a restaurant 10 days before Christmas is complicated… So they offered to book a table in another restaurant. They booked in a steakhouse… which seems insane when you booked a Michelin in a first place 🤦‍♀️ So I asked them to find something better. They told me they booked in another Michelin restaurant. When I called this restaurant, they had no reservation for me… So I would definitely not recommend if you want a descent service.

Great location for exploring the old town and charming atmosphere and ambiance. Staff was friendly and professional. However, if you like sleeping in during your vacation, AVOID room 103 (and likely 102). Given its location and limitations being an older building, most of the first-floor rooms will be visible through the windows from the passersby people in the street. There are some noise from the street but it wasn’t too terrible during my stay. What I found to be very unpleasant was that there is some sort of a loading/unloading space between rooms 102 & 103 and right at 7 am, a truck comes by and uses hydraulic machinery to move some things. It sounded like heavy machinery doing construction but I think it was just loading and unloading heavy loads. It went on for 40-60 minutes the 2 mornings and one of the afternoons I stayed there. If I am staying during a work trip and getting ready, I would be less bothered but I did not like being jolted up during vacation. In terms of breakfast, while it was good, it wasn’t anything special. I might be slightly biased due to the super breakfast buffet I had earlier in the week at the U14 hotel in Helsinki and the Hilton Tallinn Park in Tallinn. I think another reviewer commented about the shower height being a challenge. I am 5’11” and I barely could stand under the shower head as it is mounted rather low, so beware, if you are taller than that. Lastly, my room had a terrible WiFi signal strength that my mobile phone connection worked better. Otherwise, the room was clean and well prepared, other than being smaller in size due to the building being old, which I did not mind. For the cost of the hotel, I am disappointed with my stay overall and I think I could have done better at a different property.

Loved basically everything about this hotel. From the moment we walked in to the moment we walked out. Rooms are clean, spacious and pretty. Rooms dark and super silent at night. People helpful, polite and friendly. Location couldn't have been better. Parking, for a fee, but possible to reserve, which is a big plus considering it's a hotel in the old town. Biggest plus, you get freshly made to order omelettes, eggs benedict, pancakes and more at breakfast. And those were delicious. Will definitely return, big thanks to everyone we talked to during our one night at the hotel.

Chouette hôtel. Personnel sympa et professionnel. Sauf que le bar ferme très tôt et il est impossible de prendre un dernier verre à 22h. Je n'avais encore jamais vu ça dans un hôtel!!!! J'ai hésité à aller dans un autre hôtel pour prendre un petit verre mais on me conseille d'aller près de l'opéra et je n'ai plus envie de marcher. L'hôtel conviendrait plus au couche tôt. Le pire c'est que nous étions plusieurs clients devant la porte du bar ne comprennant pas pourquoi nous ne pouvions pas y avoir accès. Heureusement le barman est excellent, tellement sympathique qu'il donne l'envie de revenir. À part ça je dois avouer que tout était très bien mais ça aurait été tellement mieux si on avait pu prendre un dernier verre... je ne l'aurais pas refuser au restaurant en me disant que je le prendrais à l'hôtel..

Il Grand Palace è uno storico boutique hotel 5 stelle nel cuore di Riga. Creato in quella che una volta era una banca, si contraddistingue per la professionalità e cortesia del suo personale e l’eleganza dell’arredo delle camere. Tuttavia, rispetto ad altri hotel della stessa categoria, i servizi sono piuttosto limitati, nonostante la presenza di una sauna e della palestra. Nel mio caso non ho particolarmente apprezzato la posizione della mia camera al piano terra, di fronte all’entrata per la colazione. Tra l’altro un pezzo della maniglia della porta sembrava essere rotto. Colazione di cui ho apprezzato la possibilità di ordinare a là carte, ma anche qui non tutti i piatti provati mi hanno convinto, come le poached eggs (servite con rucola). Si tratta di un buon hotel in ottima posizione, con un personale top, ma vi sono tuttavia alcune cose da migliorare.
