Divi Dutch Village Beach Resort

Honestamente el hotel tiene una playa llena de rocas, hay que trasladarse (al hotel de al lado) para poder bañarse en la playa, no tiene ni un restaurant buffet todos (los pocos que ha) son a la carta y eso deja de ser explícitamente un Tod incluido porque restringe los platos a lo que hay y en recepción los chicos tienen poquísima claridad de lo que se ofrece del hotel. Yo no lo recomiendo.

First, the service at this resort is very good and our room was clean, spacious, and had the benefit of a little kitchenette with utensils and a coffee maker. We found that any attempt at speaking Papiamento brought a smile to people's faces and they definitely seemed happier to help us after a "bon tardi". This is true of the island, not just Divi, so learn a few words. The resort itself is broken into 3 parts and each has its pros and cons. We stayed at Divi Dutch Village with the all-inclusive (AI) package. This section has a small beach that seems to be eroding a bit but is well taken care of. There are a couple of pools here and the tiki-bar is included with AI. The rooms are supposedly older and we heard a lot of street noise, plus we clearly heard the guests through the adjoining door. That part was not good, as one would imagine. All food on the AI required a little walk or golf cart ride across the road to the Divi Golf Resort. Golf cart drivers are readily available to bring guests around- that part is nice. The food was great anywhere we went, and this resort had rooms further back from the road and nicer pools. Rooms here, I was told, are newer. But from this part of the resort, you have to cross the street to get to the beach. There's also a lot more drama with palapas on the beach here- we saw a lot of towel-saving and not a lot of people, which is annoying. By our Divi Dutch beach, this wasn't a problem. Finally, there's the Tamarijn which has own AI deal. With our AI we had a right to swim here, but drinks/ meals would have cost extra. It is on the beach-side of the road, and so are its restaurants, so there's no being carted between beach, room, and food. We did not spend much time here at all since our AI wouldn't have paid for anything, but it did seem nice. As for the resort's location, I personally liked being away from the high rises and night life, but close enough for a quick drive/taxi there. You can walk to the beach to Manchebo Beach, and eventually Eagle Beach, but Divi's beaches are lovely too. We also found a supermarket a few blocks away; bought coffee, milk, etc to make use of the little kitchen in the room. All in all, a very nice place and we enjoyed our time immensely. The only con I'd say was having to choose between being close to the beach or being close to food. But the golf carts and kitchenettes make it ok if the beach is your priority, like it was ours.

La habitación tiene una cocina bien equipada, living-comedor, balcón con vista a la pileta. Hay habitaciones más sencillas y económicas. La playa es un poco angosta, pero hay poca gente. Tiene reposteras y sombrillas del complejo, nunca tuve problema para conseguir las mismas. Si queres playas anchas los carros del hotel pueden llevarte a Eagle beach.

I would have given them 5 stars if anyone had been honest. We were stuck due to the airspace closure. I came to the front desk at 8am and was told to stay in our room and we would be contacted if for any reason we had to move. We went to (late) breakfast and came back. Got in the long line after reading the note that everyone was to check out as normal and await a new room. Was confirmed that we 100% had a room for the duration we needed (we were rescheduled 7 days out with the airline) and thanked for being flexible to be moved to a smaller room if needed, but to come back at 4pm for the room number. Meanwhile hearing others being put into new rooms for the week, but being understanding that we would need to wait a bit because we agreed to be flexible on room size and not rude/demanding like others were being. Came back in at 4pm and was told they can only accommodate us for one night. Pushy people were given what they wanted by being demanded. Being flexible left us stranded and having to find a place to stay at nearly 5pm when we could have made arrangements at 8am had they been honest at that point in time. So, if you happen to stay here when there’s an emergency type situation going on in the world on your check out day…be VERY DEMANDING. They will not take care of you if you’re polite and flexible.

Pésima fue la experiencia nos vendieron un servicio allinclusive y no tiene nada de eso, en la recepción no te dan la información de los servicios que te corresponden . En la habitación no te ponen ni agua el frigobar totalmente vacío una vergüenza. Seguridad no te brindan nada no hay cámaras ni guardias de seguridad, en las piscinas no hay servicio de guardavidas ni en la playa. Con respecto a la comida no hay ningún restaurante bufet, no tienen carta de comida escrita en español, para los que hablamos español te sentís descriminado y cada cosa que consimis te hacen firmar una boleta. Por las noches no hay ningún entrenamiento ni espectáculos . La recepción cierra por las noches a la hora 21 , mientras que en otros hoteles están toda la noche abierta como debe ser. Al ingresar te obligan a dejar un depósito de 100 dólares que te lo devuelven cuando te vas, hemos estado en varios hoteles allinclusive del caribe y nunca nos pidieron depósito lamentable.

We have a family of 5- (teens annd and adult kids) and our experience was wonderful and affordable. We booked two rooms all inclusive and we found the rooms to be clean and generously spacious (2 floors!). The staff was kind and exceptionally accommodating. This resort is quieter than Divi Golf and we liked that aspect of the location. A few things for improvement: 1) more accessibility to drinks for hydration and for fun under the all inclusive plan 2) there was a locked door in each of our rooms (1 bedroom suites) that led to another guests living area. We could hear them and I am sure they could hear us which was unexpected and we would have appreciated the heads up. All in all the staff was wonderful and we felt very comfortable. You get what you pay for and we received more than we expected! Sandra who worked in the morning at the Tiki Bar was one of our favorite people 🩷 Thank you Divi 💫
