A Magical Kingdom (With a Side of Chaos & Nuggets) If you are looking for a place where your kids can live their best lives while you survive on Vitamin D and Mojitos, Bahia Principe Fantasia is the spot. The rooms are so spacious you could practically host a football match in them, and the pools are a genuine dream for the little ones. However, after a week of "all-inclusive" living, I have some thoughts. Here is the breakdown: **The "Gourmet" Toddler Diet** The kids' menu is essentially a dedicated tribute to the **Chicken Nugget**. If your child’s food pyramid consists entirely of fries, donuts, and cookies, they will think they’ve died and gone to heaven. For the parents who were hoping for a smoothie or a stray piece of broccoli… keep dreaming. It’s a carb-loaded wonderland. The adult buffet also has some culinary "surprises." The bacon is sliced so thick it’s practically a pork chop in disguise, I wasn't sure if I should eat it or use it as a doorstop. Meanwhile, the other meats were so dry I actually considered dipping them in the pool to rehydrate them. It was a workout for the jaw, to say the least. The main buffet is a bit like a repeat of a sitcom you’ve seen too many times, fine at first, but it gets repetitive. **Pro Tip:** Go to the themed restaurants. That’s where the *actual* magic happens. **The Morning Grand Prix** I didn't need an alarm clock here. Every morning at 6:00 AM, the hallway transforms into the **Formula 1 Cleaning Cart Championships**. There’s shouting, there’s high-speed cart maneuvering, and there’s enough North-Tenerife drama to fill a telenovela. It’s very efficient, provided you didn't plan on sleeping past sunrise. **The "Invisible" Spanish Ear** Because 99% of the guests are British, German, or French, the staff seems to think they are operating under a "Cone of Silence." As a Spaniard living in the UK, I had the "privilege" of understanding everything. I learned a lot about management pressure, work schedules, and some very creative Spanish insults while I was just trying to eat my eggs. It was like getting a free, high-stress soap opera with my breakfast. **Sweep-Stakes** I appreciate cleanliness, but I didn't expect it to be a contact sport. Having my feet swept and my child physically relocated mid-mouthful because it was "cleaning time" under the table was... bold. I’ve never felt more like an obstacle in a race against a broom. **The Verdict:** Despite the "nugget-only" diet for the kids and the 6:00 AM hallway drag races, the hotel is truly beautiful and very comfortable. Just bring some earplugs for the morning, a Spanish dictionary to keep up with the staff gossip, and maybe a multivitamin for the kids. **Would I go back?** Yes. But I’m bringing my own broom.

Hemos vuelto encantados

We enjoyed our stay, but the hotel is not what it used to be. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, and the check-in process was quick and efficient. The staff everywhere in the hotel were brilliant, polite and helpful as always. Now, what's changed? First of all, there is a massive understaffing in all bars and restaurants, despite the place being probably at full occupancy. I know that the hotel is closing soon for refurbishment, but that should not affect the present day. The staff do their best but there are not enough of them anymore. Additionally, the room was a massive disappointment. The towels, although changed daily, were grey, thin, and had holes in them. There is no soap in the bathroom, and the shower gel is no longer being replenished. The cleaning standards were also questionable. Entertainment-wise, a massive cutback - only two singers were actually good over the course of a week, and the majority sang almost the same songs each night. The food was tasty, but after speaking to a head waiter in one of the à la carte restaurants, I was mortified. I am allergic to certain ingredients, so I always check if I am unsure. With Bahia, I loved the fact that they display all allergens on the menu. Once, I was asked if I had allergies (never happened before), I was told that the dish I wanted contained the specific allergen, so was the only one I couldn't have. I pointed out that on the menu it was the other way round, as it was the only one that was suitable for me and all other dishes were not. The waiter explained that the menu is outdated and contains inaccurate allergen information, so I cannot trust it. I am glad that we had that chat, but this is a serious health concern and a management failure if Bahia feels that displaying allergens on the menu can be justified. The area around the pool is not maintained properly anymore. Again, preparing for the refurb? There are no areas for smokers to sit down and have a drink. You need to smoke in the tiny areas in the middle of stairs and paths. I believe this affects nonsmokers much more if having a dedicated area with tables and chairs would. Overall, we love the location and the hotel staff but the standards are now gone so probably won't be returning based on the above.

The hotel is outdated but the atmosphere is great, location in secluded but great views ,quiet place/surrounding. Has the hotel beeing renovated?or only the name has changed? Edit:if you reply to my review why haven't you answered the question. Has it been renovated this year?or is it in renovation now?

We absolutely loved our stay here! The resort is beautiful, boasting amazing views and brilliant surroundings. It really has everything you could possibly need right on-site, including a pharmacy and a mini-market, which is so convenient. The beach is wonderfully clean and simply perfect for a relaxing day. If you are travelling with children, the Mini Club is fantastic—my kid absolutely loved it here! The staff across the entire resort were incredibly friendly and kind, making us feel very welcome. The only slight downside was the food. There were not a lot of vegetarian options available, and the ones they did have were not clearly labelled. I have noticed all the European resorts have this issue; I think they should mention what's vegetarian and what's not, but they usually don't. However, despite this, the food was still good enough and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Overall, a wonderful holiday!
