I recently stayed at XemXija Bay Hotel with my children on our first trip to Malta, and we had a very peaceful and enjoyable experience. The hotel is in a convenient location, with a local bus stop just a few minutes’ walk away, making it easy to explore the area and access ferry trips around Comino. We were also recommended the caves along Roman Road for scenic views and photos, which were definitely worth visiting. The pool area was one of our favorite spots. It has a relaxing atmosphere and lovely views, and we spent a lot of time there unwinding. The food was consistently very good, and we especially enjoyed breakfast each morning. The on-site dining options were a highlight of our stay. Housekeeping was reliable and efficient, with daily room service. The room was always clean and well-maintained when we returned. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and professional. Maria was particularly helpful in providing information about the local area, the gym facilities, and the best times to travel depending on the weather. I also appreciated having access to the 24-hour gym and leisure facilities. Riadh and Leila were both helpful and attentive whenever I had questions, and the maintenance staff were courteous and approachable. Overall, we had a very positive stay and would happily return in the future.

Richtig schlecht wir buchen eine schönes Zimmer mit pool Blick das erste was wir bekommen haben eine total Katastrophe mit blick auf ein verschmutztes Loch. Reception gar nicht hilfreich. Wir haben dann gesagt wir gehen auf einmal war das Hotel nicht mehr voll und wir haben ein anderes Zimmer bekommen immer noch nicht das was wir gebucht haben und immer noch mit einem anderen Blick. Reception sagt am Anfang ja ich gebe ihnen ein Frühstück (was wir nicht gebucht haben aber er hat gesagt er will uns eins geben) 3. Tag er sagt ja sie haben es nicht gebucht und ich habe und kann ihnen kein Frühstück geben, er lügt uns ins Gesicht.

Please don't stay at this hotel. Although it mentions air conditioning, it's hot 24/7. The room is unbearably hot; you can't sleep. If you open the windows, insects come in and bite you. I'm covered in bites. It's 2:47 AM as I write this review, and I haven't been able to sleep. I went down to reception, and the guy there said he couldn't do anything; there's no way to fix it. They don't have fans or anything else. It's just awful. I'm going to file a complaint.

Spacious rooms, minor problems with the room but they are very helpful and always come to help very quickly. They have tasty cocktails by the pool with good strength and beautifully presented by Rakesh at a beautiful location. Very friendly staff! Greetings from Belgium.

Basic hotel But suited use Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels Air con was freezing as it should be Only down fall was the balcony wasn't big enough to sit on and unfortunately was not the best view ..so if you like a view upgrade when u book .. rooms had fridge and a kettle .. hair dryer and a hob .... unfortunately no complimentary tea or coffee .... Bed were single but put together. We had breakfast which was ok Not much choice but I'm not fussy Sasages ,eggs , beans and bacon Or cheese and ham ...toast and cereal.coffee and juices .....some fruit daily could of done with more fruit if anything. Pool area we all ways got a bed never had to rush and I liked the added bonus of the raised sun bathing areas ...so u had privacy if u wanted....we opted after day 2 to go to harbour 5 mins walk were you could sunbathe and steps into the sea... heaven!! Only a supermarket close by so if u like shops don't come here....about 5 restaurants on harbour front again not much to do if you like night life ...we like quite so suited us ...... Town was 1 HR walk around harbour or bus trip .....lots of bars but not many shops .... I enjoyed my stay and personaly would stay again ....if your ok with basic and not much to do it's ideal ...if you like lots to do dont stay here !!

Hoteltester-Rezension – Xemxija Bay Hotel (5 Nächte Aufenthalt) ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2 von 5 Sternen) Nach fünf Nächten im Xemxija Bay Hotel fällt mein Fazit leider eher enttäuschend aus. Bereits vor der Anreise fiel mir auf, dass die auf Google gezeigten Bilder einen deutlich besseren Eindruck vermitteln als die tatsächlichen Gegebenheiten vor Ort. Die Diskrepanz zwischen Werbeauftritt und Realität ist bemerkenswert. Das Zimmer selbst war großzügig geschnitten und mit zwei Einzelbetten ausgestattet. Allerdings machte es von Beginn an einen feuchten Eindruck und verströmte einen dauerhaft muffigen Geruch. Trotz täglichem Lüften und durchgehender Nutzung der Klimaanlage ließ sich dieser Geruch während des gesamten Aufenthalts nicht beseitigen. Der allgemeine Pflegezustand des Zimmers war lediglich ausreichend und entsprach keineswegs dem Eindruck, den die veröffentlichten Fotos vermitteln. Besonders enttäuschend war der mangelnde Service. Während meines fünftägigen Aufenthalts fand an drei Tagen keinerlei Room-Service statt. Frische Handtücher erhielt ich erst, nachdem ich selbst aktiv an der Rezeption nachfragen musste. Selbst dann dauerte es noch rund 30 Minuten, bis die Handtücher auf das Zimmer gebracht wurden. Für ein Hotel, auch im Budget-Segment, ist das aus meiner Sicht nicht akzeptabel. Auf das Frühstück habe ich bewusst verzichtet. Das Angebot wirkte wenig einladend und entsprach den kritischen Bewertungen, die bereits in verschiedenen Online-Portalen zu lesen sind. Der Poolbereich hinterließ ebenfalls keinen überzeugenden Eindruck. Der Pool ist relativ klein, die Beckenränder wirken vergilbt und das Wasser erschien während meines Aufenthalts deutlich trüb. Positiv anzumerken ist, dass die Anlage jeden Morgen mit einem Hochdruckreiniger gesäubert wird. Dennoch wirkte die Wasserqualität auf mich nicht vertrauenerweckend, weshalb ich auf das Schwimmen verzichtet habe. Ein Pluspunkt ist die Lage des Hotels. Die Bushaltestelle ist in etwa fünf Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, wodurch sich Ausflüge auf Malta bequem organisieren lassen. Zudem ist die Umgebung nachts angenehm ruhig, sodass man ungestört schlafen kann. Fazit: Das Xemxija Bay Hotel ist aus meiner Sicht ein klassisches Low-Budget-Hotel mit einigen deutlichen Schwächen bei Zimmerqualität, Sauberkeit und Service. Die gute Verkehrsanbindung und die ruhige Lage können die negativen Eindrücke leider nicht ausgleichen. Für einen günstigen Aufenthalt mag das Hotel ausreichend sein, persönlich würde ich mich bei meinem nächsten Malta-Besuch jedoch für eine andere Unterkunft entscheiden.
